Highland Village location. The wait time to get checked in is ridiculous and once checked in there is additional and usually too long of a wait. They can't keep employees so rarely does everyone working even no what's going on nor do they have the tenacity to run efficiently. Customer service is not a priority with this location ans I tried reaching out to corporate annd got zero resolve or response.I assume rudeness from employees is acceptable. This place is always so busy, which is great for them. Unfortunately it's so understaffed and the staff that is present has been completely unconcerned with keeping the flow of people serviced. I have given this now several opportunities to see if things could improve but it's just so bad. I've waited over thirty minutes before and had to leave and come back because once placed in a room the machine was out of spray...and the employee said she didn't know if they had any to replenish it. It felt like a joke it was so bad. No towel in the spray tan room multiple times. No toilet paper in the bathroom. It is extremely dirty in the rooms and never appears to have been cleaned. The biggest disappointment is the annoyed attitude of the staff. I think the concept is great I think the services offered are fine...but the issue seems to be with staff and management not present. If I were the owner I would definitely want to be aware. read more

I was a member here for about a year but got so sick of the sales pitch every time I went in for different products. I decided to go back in for a spray tan yesterday and the sales pitches have gotten worse. They would not let me decline the full tour with explanations of the various machines that I have already used several times and then an explanation of about 30 different products, most of which were not even for spray tanning which was what I came in for. I understand offering the tour but to tell a customer they can't decline and you won't allow them to spray tan until after the whole sales pitch is crazy. It's not like I wasn't paying full price for the spray tan or something. Incredibly disrespectful of the customer's time to make it a requirement to spend 20 min extra minutes listening to all of that after they decline like it's a time share or something. I won't be back and recommend other people look else where for occasional spray tanning. read more

I've been a member here every summer for the last 4 years. When I first joined, everything was great. As each year has passed, the spa machines and spray tan machines seem to struggle. This summer has been the worst with ALWAYS having at least 1 machine down (I have yet to go the last 2 months where everything was working). 2 things I tried to do today would not work. The guy who came out of the VersaSpa before me (only one was working-the other was "down") said his tan was very blotchy (noticeable from the bronzer pattern). Sadly, the owners just don't seem to replace the spa equipment when they need to. I don't use the tanning beds so can't speak to those. Fixing them would be fine if those repairs actually worked for any length of time. When clients notice things are on their "last leg" then you've waited far too long. I have decided to cancel and will look for a different spa/spray tan option next year. The employees are nice and always apologetic when things aren't working, but the owners are failing this location badly. I did call and told the main number about the challenges and also asked to cancel, but thought it was strange too she didn't offer anything more to try and get me to stay. Oh well...live & learn. I typically only review positive experiences, but felt I needed to warn anyone considering joining this location. If the owners decide to reinvest here & take care of it like they used to, I would stay and recommend it. read more

Terrible service. Was greeted rudely- felt like I was an imposition. Took an hour and a half for one service. When I finally got an opportunity to get to a tanning bed, I was told "Oops I forgot to tell you about the law that says you have to have goggles so you are required to buy some." Seriously? I looked up the law when I got home. It actually says the tanning bed operator must provide sanitized protective eyewear. Oh - and you have to call their corporate office to cancel. I have had a top tier membership with this company for over 10 years. In the last year it has quickly become progressively worse. Customer service is no longer a priority for Glotan. The final straw was today. 4 people (employees) standing around and only one can check people in??? Waiting for over 10 minutes with one person to check in is not that uncommon for them anymore. Once it was my turn to check in, she informed me she had to go take care of another person in the back. And this was said without any concerned that I had already been standing there for over 10 minutes. I walked out and have now cancelled my 10+ year membership. Enough is enough! I signed up for a flex membership yesterday and Sydney was extremely helpful. If you are ever at the location on Butchel Blvd ask for Sydney! She made sure to explain all of the treatments available and which ones would have the best results for my objectives. She also spent several minutes with me going over all of the different lotions and other projects. Showing me the top of line options as well as more budget friendly ones, while ensuring all of my needs were met. She was focused on making sure I had a great experience! I had my first tanning bed, for 4 min, and then she suggested a light spray tan, as I wanted to have a little bit of color on my legs, for an event in a few days. Glo has a lot to offer as far as red light, tanning beds, and spray tans. The staff is really hit or miss. My membership lapsed so I only buy a one off spray tan as needed for events. Today I went in to get one and the system was down for several minutes. Understood things happen. Then when it came back up, the girl informed me since I don't have a membership.. she has to give me a tour. I reassured her I was just here last week and they didn't make me do that, also I've been tanning here for the past 2 years. Apparently glo implemented a policy to force a tour on non-members as a way to bully via inconvenience to sign up for a membership. Not the best business practice. read more

BEWARE. Worst tanning salon in the DFW Metroplex! I was a member for 2 years, and in this time the following issues occurred: 1) My account was not set up correctly upon initiation (my email was incorrect and they created two accounts for me). This was never resolved in these 2 years. 2) Each time I went into the salon, it was always a problem for them to find the correct account because they could not figure out the software. They also told me on several occasions that the 2nd account was removed, but this was a lie. 3) The software is absolute GARBAGE! Even the employees would vent about how terrible it was. The software also had issues applying payment with the card on file for 13 months straight. 4) The software was always down, even when you spoke to Corporate. They would tell you the software is down and they will call you back. Sometimes they called back, and other times they didn't. 5) The employees, with the exception of 1, were NOT educated on the services, equipment or tanning knowledge in general. 6) I was overcharged for products/services I never used on 8 occasions. They would charge me for 'rapid' additive when I did not ask for it, nor was it put into the spray machine. They would charge me for sample products I also never asked for or used. 7) When I wanted to cancel the membership, I was told the system is down and that I would have to visit a salon to cancel. When I visited the salon to cancel, I waited 1.5 hours and they still could not figure out how to cancel. I then called Corporate to cancel and it took 4 phone calls to accomplish this. They told me it was cancelled, and then it wasn't. When I asked for an email confirmation of the cancellation, I was given the run around until I demanded a cancellation in writing. Save your time and money. There's no reason a customer should have this experience. Glo tanning needs to take every step to supply employees with an efficient software and training. I will be taking my business to a local tanning salon with the same exact services at a cheaper cost. read more

Absolutely love the Norvell! Gives me great coverage. Very fast and always gives me the perfect color. Staff is very knowledgeable on what color shade is best for your skin type. I highly recommend you trying it out! Instead of waiting 18-24hrs to fully develop they offer a $10 -1 hour rapid solution that allows you to shower after 1-3 hours which I personally always do along with adding the post to your spray. The post really locks everything in along with prolonging the life of your tan! read more

The girl with darker hair, I'm so bad with names, greeted me the second I walked in the door, I asked her about memberships and she asked what I was looking for instead of just recommending the most expensive one. She didn't try to force me into anything she explained all the benefits to me and didn't push me to make a choice. Long story short, I walked out of Glo Tanning today with the unlimited membership and a beautiful sun kissed tan. She was so sweet and as I walked out the door she expressed how excited she was to see me there all the time. After a long, stressful day of work this was the kind of positivity I needed in my day. The blonde girl also working, again I'm terrible with names, also gave me some tips on how to develop my tan the best way possible and avoid messing it up. I purchased a Groupon for a tanning membership at one of their facilities. I read the fine print for the order before purchasing because I had visited this facility 3 years ago for a different service and wanted to make sure my purchase would be valid. After going in person today I was told because I had used a different service (versa tan vs bed tanning) back in 2017 that counted as a 1-year membership and my Groupon would not be honored. I went back and read through their specific order details and did not see anything such as "new customers only" or that if any Groupon has been purchased in the past that the merchant will not honor any subsequent purchases. For reference, these are the fine print details on the Groupon order: UV tanning option not valid for customers with current UV memberships. Valid ID required. Limit 1 per person, may buy 1 additional as gift(s). Valid only for option purchased. All goods or services must be used by the same person. The person from Groupon explained to me that if the fine print mentions the limit is 1 per person, then you can use it only once in your LIFETIME unless the merchant changes the restrictions. If that is the policy, I understand I just would have appreciated the fine print details to be a bit clearer. read more

I've been a customer of this tanning salon since it was MegaTan. Probably over 10 years now. I've never been more disappointed than I have been with their service recently. In February I started going to the Keller location, the alliance location was my original salon. I went in and unfroze then refroze my account at Alliance so I could tan for a month. I tanned at the Keller location for that month, no issues. I went in today and Ali (the manager) told me the card on file was declined (new debit), so I asked if she needed a new card for the membership ($5 charge a month to keep frozen). I was told that I needed to go to Alliance, despite having been tanning at the Keller location. So I called and spoke with Jordan who said she couldn't see me in the system at Alliance. Huh? She gave me a number to call. No one answered, so that doesn't help when I'm wanting to tan today. Ali said I couldn't tan, she couldn't correct the card, then she told me Id have to unfreeze to use my sessions, but she couldn't do that at the Keller location. I keep my membership frozen and use my sessions that I purchase separately. So basically no one can help me get it straightened out. This isn't the first time I've dealt with issues regarding payments & customer service. Sad because their beds and sprays are amazing. I'll update the review once I hear back but for now 1star is all I'm giving. Edit 1- Jordan saw I called to ask a few questions, I had to go and hung up, she returned the call. We chatted and she is letting April know the situation to see if it can be worked out. Jordan couldn't answer many of my questions but she tried. Seems to be a system issue, but still can't tan. I was with another tan chain for many years before I tried this place. The beds are top of the line and almost half what I was paying before. Not to mention all of the spa services they offer that are included in your membership. Every single one of the girls who work there are kind and helpful. They walk you back every time and explain the setting to you, as well as looking at your history and seeing what bed is best for each visit. I highly recommend switching to GLO! read more

Their customer service is not on point. If you want to tan and go, be prepared to wait. Check in is completely unorganized. They are more interested in selling to a new client than servicing a paying client that stands before them. Several girls attempt to check you in and it's obvious the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They really need to get their act together since they have a monopoly on tanning in the area. AND NO... I do not want a spa service. If I do, I will go to a real spa. Please improve on checking people in. The first point of contact should be the person that puts you in a bed. Don't wait to pass your customer off to the next associate just to have us repeat everything you did to the first associate. I sincerely hope your efficiency improves. read more
