After doing an extensive search of high quality salons this shop kept coming up on my yelp feed. After working brutally long hours at work, I wanted to treat myself to a good quality pedicure. To be fair, I called Bliss beauty bar and Lavish Nails before calling GLO. The thing that made me choose GLO was their receptionist's courteousness. Both other shops answered but didn't seem as welcoming so I opted out. Usually, I would settle for mediocre salons where'd I'd pay $50 altogether but not anymore. I payed about $80+$10 tip = $90 total. It was worth the bliss. I added gel removal, gel polish and paraffin. They start off by doing your toes first, then the waterworks after your polish is done. Vy made sure my pedicure was left pristine. I am definitely coming to her again! They offer complimentary drinks and treated me to 2 glasses of crisp champagne. The service itself was unlike anything other experience. I felt so pampered. Vy let me take my time choosing a service and color. Came here for a little girls work event and we all got the most amazing nails ever!! Group of 6 of us and they were so kind and made the experience wonderful. The salon is beautiful. Very happy with my pedicure. The tech took her time, and looked at her work over and over between every step. Jenny was the perfect person for me. Polite, respectful, and warm. I didn't need small talk. I got to sit quietly and relax. Drinks also kept coming my entire stay. It was a quiet noon Saturday. Only 1 other woman was there so I was very worried I chose the wrong place, but now I've found my regular spot! read more

I went in yesterday for a gel overlay. Now I needed to have an old set from a previous salon removed.. the girl at this salon shaved my natural nails down so much that now my nails are extremely thin and flimsy. They were not like this when I arrived. It has been ONE day, and two of my nails have already broken. For $70 as a baseline for a gel x overlay manicure not including the removal nor tip just doesn't seem worth the money. Go somewhere that has hard gel overlay instead! I just needed somewhere quick because I was afraid of my nails breaking. I'm never cheating on my girls again! My previous set with hard gel overlay lasted me 4 weeks read more

Haven't had a manicure in years. Went here for a company sponsored female managers appreciation event. Got a regular acrylic manicure done by Emily (aka Oanh). She did an excellent job. She gave me exactly what I wanted and she's super pleasant and sweet. Amy the receptionist was very nice and accommodating and served me hot green tea. She even added hot water when my tea needed a refill. The establishment is clean with cool decor. Great vibe and everyone was very nice. I would go back to get my manicure done by Emily again. Came in for a pedicure they are on the pricey side but it is all worth it. So please don't make that turn you away. The pedicures are special there are so many options. I have done a couple today I did the peppermint one it felt so nice. I was so relaxed and so happy with my expeirence. This place is really clean and super welcoming. UPDATE: Had to change my initial rating due to the gel already peeling and lifting 4 days into my $92 manicure with no response from the owner when asking for a partial refund. This lack of unaccountability is unacceptable. Nina was my nail tech. She was great! Meticulous and thorough. I showed her a picture of nail art I wanted, but she didn't quite have the products to match what I asked for, so we agreed to something sort of similar. From that alone, I can tell nail art only goes so far here. With a 20% tip, my gel manicure cost $92. The breakdown is as follows: $50 gel manicure +$5 to remove original gel, +$12 Presto gel upgrade, +$10 for nail art on 4 nails only. I was aware of all the upgrade charges up front except the $10 nail art which I was shocked by. It seemed unreasonable for the work I received. read more

I tried a few times to give this place a chance but I definitely won't be returning. One time I came my nails were amazing but then another time the lady was rushing since she wanted to go home. ( I wouldn't come later in the day.) I also have yet to understand why they charge a removal fee for Gel X that they put on... why not just do Gel X fills like every other salon???? If you want a high quality experience go to Glo Nail bar. It's the nicest nail salon in all of OC. I go to the Costa Mesa and Newport location. I bring my daughter with me (she's 3) and she really looks forward to our visits there. They are so good with her too. The have little candies at the front she's excited for. And I love the assortment of drinks they offer complimentary really makes my day! They have wine, tea, coffee, sparkling water........... I always get the vanilla manicure and pedicure! The prices are higher than an average nail salon but you get what you pay for.... My nails NEVER chip. And they don't drill my nails till they are thin and broken! If luxury, and experience, and quality your after this is the best place. If you want a cheap manicure don't go here. read more

I came here to get the lavender pedicure. I showed my nail lady a picture of what I wanted and even though she does not normally do designs, she was willing to try and not charge me extra for it. I wish I remembered her name because she was so sweet and funny. She was very precise and nit picky about being perfect with painting my toe nails and drawing the design. My pedicure came with a foot mask, which I have never had done before but definitely will for the future because it made my feet so soft. All employees were wearing masks and gloves. Customers must wear masks at all times. They also provide a complimentary small box with little candy in it and it's so cute. This is definitely my favorite salon I've ever been to even though it is a little bit on the expensive side. read more

I'm so glad that you're back up and running. was saddened to find out that Nikki didn't come back....I was recommended Kay Kay, who is amazing...then she went on vacation( as everyone is allowed too) and they recommended Germaine for me. I was reluctant, since I'm particular about my nails/fingers...but she is really, really gentle. she took my requests ( which I hope didn't bother her too much.) and she executed them perfectly. I couldn't be happier with her. she is super sweet, oh and I would like to add that I love to combine color with glitter..it makes it look nicer...at least I think so. last week we did red with silver/black glitter. today we did a deep purple with chunky silver. I love it. THANK YOU SO MUCH GRRMAINE! I even went as far as booking 2 more appts with her. picture 1; hand with purple color picture 2; close up of purple with silver chunk...and yes I have an ouchie on the middle finger. she was gentle while going around cutting. cutting gets me nervous too...but she's super gentle. The place looks great, clean and sterile seeming, and the service was decent, however the price is so high that I can not justify making this my go to nail spot. I came in through a walk in and the place was huge and seemingly not busy (about 4 customers getting nail service from 6 employees) place could fit about 30 people if it was full. I had to get my gel X removed and decided to get a gel manicure as well. They took me in fairly quickly even though I didn't have an appointment but it took about an hour for them to remove my previous nails and start on the manicure. Lilian was very friendly and had super cute nails so I decided to copy her nails. At the end I tipped her out after finding out how much the total was... it was $91.00 .... For gel x removal and then a gel manicure with chrome and some kind of gel that makes the nails stronger (not dip). I personally was shocked at this price (TOO EXPENSIVE) for what I had done. Idk if I'll be back Bc of this price. read more

Annie helped me with a $34 pedicure yesterday. It was my first time here. She was really nice. The place is definitely one of the nicer nail shops in OC. The front desk staff wasn't all that friendly. Once home I noticed how awful my nails and polish looked. They weren't cut straight and the polish was just awful. I have three events to attend this coming weekend and a poor pedicure isn't helpful. I won't be returning to GLO. read more

GLO Nail bar at the Costa Mesa location has been a good experience for me. Although in the past, I've nail salon hopped and I don't have a go to nail technician, yet, everybody who has had a chance to work with me at GLO has been wonderful with pleasing results. It feels good to be pampered, complimented, and I've taken my girlfriends here. The pricing is just. I feel the pricing is just because rent is probably high, they need to support there liquor license, and the nail artistry is current along with cleanliness and sanitation. I'd rather pay more for better results in a timely fashion. We are all happy. It wasn't until recently when I took my good friend into GLO for my birthday in May, I was overwhelmed with the nail technicians integrity or character because of the good in this world. I had graduated from chemotherapy prior on February 22nd and it had done a number to my natural nails. I was afraid to be turned away, instead GLO was able to work with me. I was never mistreated in any way, shape, or form. Instead, I enjoyed my luxurious gel pedi/Gel X Extension with comfort and ease. Established in 2014.

Opened in May 2014, GLO Nail Bar was founded on the premise that nail salon clients disparately wanted an alternative to the dull, indistinct, "chop shop" nail salons that littered the industry. This alternative, according to the vision of the owners, is a salon that is designed and appointed with décor meant to flirt with the eyes and be inviting to the soul. A salon where personalized client care and service is a core operating principle that is practiced by highly trained, knowledgeable, and personal staff. And where the services and treatments offered to clients are all custom designed using only high quality products made from natural and fresh ingredients. The product of the owners vision - a nail salon and spa for those who expect no less than perfection - was finally realized with the opening of this salon, the first GLO Nail Bar in southern California.

Source: "Talking Shop" - The Daily Pilot Co-owners Tomson Nguyen and Tracy Tran did not want a typical "chop shop" nail salon - unsanitary spa chairs, bland décor, and non-existent customer service - that are seemingly on every street corner. These salons focus only on numbers such that one client can be rushed out to make room for the next. It doesn't matter if the service and product is subpar, he said. "We wanted to change the whole experience of having your nails done by creating a modern, clean and chic environment where clients are treated like royalty and the where the treatments and products used are the best in the industry," Nguyen said. "We are not competing with anyone but ourselves," Tran said. "It's all about customer service. We are always trying to up our game." The custom-designed menu contains an array of spa pedicure services and include a "Peppermint Breeze Pedi," "Bubbly Champagne and Rose." All of their scented foot soaks and scrubs are also made in-house.

The service itself felt rushed from beginning to end, and unfortunately, the quality reflected that. I was charged $108, wasn't given a receipt, and left wondering what I had actually paid for. The final result did not meet my expectations. I understand that businesses get busy and that employees have schedules to keep. However, if there isn't enough time to provide proper service, it's better to be honest and say there is no availability rather than have a customer come in, wait for nearly an hour, and then feel pressured through the appointment. A trip to the nail salon should leave you feeling relaxed and happy. Instead, I left feeling stressed, rushed, and disappointed. Between the lack of communication, feeling pressured throughout the appointment, the poor-quality service, and the price, this was an experience I won't be repeating. Thank you anyway.

They were so accommodating even though I came on a Friday evening which can get busy in any salon. The place is quite large and there are a lot of services that are done here. I like how clean it is from the get go. Luxurious vibe and aesthetic. They have 2 screens: one has scenic views from around the world and the other regular news. Luckily I sat next to the one with the scenic views. Lisa attended me right away; I got a gel x manicure. She gave me a great hand massage which was so relaxing and pleasant. She took her time to style my nails with precision. The only thing I would suggest is to have more relaxing music instead of regular generic pop music . I think having calm/ relaxing music instead of commercial pop music would make the experience more pleasant. I highly recommend this place; Lisa was great! Also, the dip powder they have is environmentally friendly and non toxic which is pretty unique for a nail salon to have! Thank you!

The gentleman doing my pedicure implied that my feet were dry and I should upgrade my pedicure before he even looked or touched my feet, plus the water was cold. During the pedicure he agreed that I didn't have calluses. Every color I picked from the OPI binder they didn't have. It took three attempts to get a color they actually had. The shape of my nails turned out nice but the gel was very lumpy and that was what upset me the most. Either the staff did a poor job or the polish was not good.

But she does such an incredible job that I can go anywhere from 3-5 weeks before a single chip. I don't know what kind of magic she is doing, but in my ten plus years of getting pedicures, I haven't experienced this kind of consistency and quality ever before. Everyone that works there is so kind, the employees are friendly and helpful. Pricing is competitive for the area and the VIP treatments are absolutely worth it every now and again, although I typically stick with the basic gel pedi. Chairs are comfortable, beverages are complimentary and offered on seating, and the herbs they use for teas and soaks smell incredible. Finding a good nail salon is always a stressful task. Happy to find a place I can count on.
