They are a family owned business that cares about each and every client they serve, whether you're new, or have been coming to them for years. I've specifically have gotten my eyebrows done, and cupping on my back. Both services that I typically get are taken care of by Mai (the owner). Her attention to detail is very surgical, and on point. My heinous eyebrows look really good after a session with Mai. The cupping on the other hand is even better. It relieves so much pressure on my back, and I always feel refreshed afterwards. As far as the atmosphere, once you enter the shop you know that you're going to be taken care of based on the friendly greetings. Beware!! Your fingers will be in so much pain if you go here. I emailed this place to complain that this was the worst nail experience I've ever had. I told them I'd write a bad review if they never got back to me. The reason you're seeing this is because they completely ghosted me and don't care to give customers what they pay for. The lady who was getting her nails done at the same time as me told me it felt like her fingers were about to fall off and she was on the verge of tears. This experience made me cry too. I work hard for my money and I wanted to enjoy myself. Nothing about this experience was pleasant in the slightest. The lady who did my hands used the drill mostly on my cuticles not my nails. She didn't do any cuticle care nor did I get a massage. I usually give a $25 tip to each person doing my nails. I hurt my soul giving them $10 each. I still cant believe what I experienced. read more

The price was very reasonable, she even advised me what to do and what not to do, so I didn't worry about losing money on unnecessary services. She was responsible and very professional. I don't always give reviews but when I do, It's to communicate so others don't have to have similar experiences. I've gone to Modern Nails quite a few times but only in the past two times I have not had a great experience. Particularly this last time. This was my second time having Lisa as my nail tech. The last time I had her she was very rush and agitated but I decided to leave a tip anyway because she does good work and hey, we all have bad days. I had wanted to try a new place but I figured I'd give it one last shot to see if my bad experience was a one time deal. I waited for someone to be available and to my dread, I got Lisa again. I was hoping this time would be different but she was even worse. She was rough with my hands, making a mess and seemed to not even care. Sighing constantly and extremely cold. I already made up my mind that I wouldn't tip her but I was sent over the edge when I looked at my finger thinking she got nail polish on my skin (I got a deep red) I proceeded to ask her if she could remove that and she replied "I can't cause it's blood." Not apologetic even slightly for nicking me. Literally unphased. Thank God for Ellie who was doing someone's nails beside me and over heard everything. She apologized and gave me a discount. And honestly my one star is for her. I overhear her all time giving great customer service and making great connections with her clients. I also know the other ladies who work there are so kind and work hard. But Lisa is horrible. Ellie offered me a discount for next time but honestly Lisa gave me such a horrible experience that any desire for me to go back has died. This review isn't to tell people not to come here. More often than not, the service is great. But something needs to be done about Lisa. I hope Ellie and her mom (who I believe owns the place) see this review and do something about Lisa. And if you're a customer looking to try this place, make sure you get anyone else besides her. She needs a wake up call and if she can't be kind to her customers, maybe she shouldn't work in the industry at all. read more

I went here as a walk in to try dip powder nails and was VERY dissapointed. I wasted $40 including tip on a horrible, sloppy job. The lady did a VERY messy job and when I told her it was super thick and sloppy halfway through she argued that it wasn't...the dip powder was left under my nails and almost glued onto my skin. It was uncomfortable and frankly just ugly. She buffed my nails so hard it caused my cuticles to bleed and they were SO sore after. (See photo post after I had to take them off myself). After I tried to fix them myself at home because I didn't want to stay there any longer (it had been over an hour) I decided to take them off because they bugged me every time I looked at them. It took me 2 hours to take them off so I didn't damage my nails. I would NOT recommend dip Powder there and am really unhappy. Wouldn't go back and hope they give me a refund. Just a waste of time and money. read more

I am not one to write reviews, however I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I would give zero stars but that isn't an option. I went in for a regular acrylic fill and left with the shortest and nastiest naked nails. The lady suggested I try dip and she ended up dipping my finger at least 6 times and the dip was built up so much I was absolutely horrifying how bad it was (overflowing my nail and sticking to my skin) and she kept trying to cover up the fact she was actively messing up my nails (then eventually blamed it on the dip powder she chose?). I felt very uncomfortable in the salon and asked her to remove everything to which she initially wanted to charge me but then decided not to ( I wouldn't say a win but at least she did that) I wasted almost 2 hours with the whole ordeal. I will definitely not be returning to this salon. 0/10 read more
