I have never had a better experience at a nail salon before. I initially stopped in to just see the colors they had available and see if they could do the design I had in mind, and I left in LOVE with my nails! Anna is an amazing and incredibly thoughtful nail artist. She wouldn't let me leave until I was 100% happy with my nails, no matter how nitpicky I had to be about them. She fixed everything I asked for, and I couldn't be happier with them. All the staff were so nice and welcoming from the start. I went in to Modern Nails about a week and half ago, to have my one nail fixed as it was lifting and cut them down. (I didn't get my original set with them). Mai helped me out and she is awesome!!! I was so satisfied with the end result and basically what she fixed that I'm going back. I have never done acrylic before going here and have had the funnest time doing it- so many fun colors see photos! I heard people say it was too damaging to your nails but wow I just got my acrylic off and my nails feel so strong. This place sucks! I asked for acrylic nails to the lady and she said she would do them and started with something entirely wrong. I kept asking if she is sure if this is acrylic and she would say "don't worry about it". And when I showed her what I wanted she started to yell at me. I FELT SO Uncomfortable and unsafe. I didn't desire to be yelled at, if there was a misunderstanding we should talk about it instead of how I was treated. The manager fixed the problem and still charged me full price for a 2 1/2 hour job. I showed up the next day letting them know that it was not right and I shouldn't pay for a horrible experience and the manager (herself) made this situation a bigger issue and toss the money at me. I had a horrible experience a week ago. First, i wanted go and talk to them but I have no time, so I write a review. My husband wanted to make a surprise for me and got a gift certificate for $30(!!!) regular ped and mani which cost $25. And when he walked in he seen that lady who was enjoying her ped, mani on a massage chair and getting a head massage (!!!) so he asked if I'll get the same and they said yes, for that certificate! So when I came to get my mani and pedi with the massage, I got not even a massage chair but regular plus they said my certificate is only $25 (but my husband paid $30) so I have to pay extra for everything!!! Here's what for, to take my gel off which was a house made, so it is super thin! And you can peel it off. But they got my nails destroyed plus the color got is under the nail and she thought inside! And made my nails super thin with her file and was saying like oh, your nails so bad, so thin but she made them this way!!! Plus the one said I need to pay extra $10 for gel, another said $15 and after they got "in fight" on their language and all of them said $15. But I had to pay only $5(!!!). And give tips to everyone who worked of course... so they lied to my husband, they destroyed his gift, they destroyed my day and nails!!! Plus they overcharged me for everything, even just for get in!!! And I got no massage and horrible service! read more

I've been coming to this little gem consistently for the last few months and I love the ladies who work here. Mai, the owner, tints and waxes my eyebrows every three weeks which makes my morning routine quick and easy. Bella works her magic on my fingers and toes. Every lady here does a fantastic job and possesses a great attitude. They'll do just about anything you ask and they are awesome with special requests. Bella remembers how I like my nails and also remembers the products I'm allergic to (because of my sensitive skin). I hate leaving semi not good reviews, so I added a star. I used to go to the owner years back, now its kinda been my back up plan. I went this weekend and the girl who was cutting cuticles took off about 3 layers, and not once did I hear sorry or an apology. My finger bled until the end of the gel process so we couldn't even paint that nail until all were finished. Now I know mistakes happen, but I felt a simple sorry we sawed your cuticle off would of went a long way. Instead I paid and left, still tipped her but I think service has just went down hill a bit. I hate giving bad reviews but I had a horrible experience here. To start it off, when I got there, the lady who greeted me was extremely rude. I called and made an appt in advance and when I got there they asked me what I needed done 3 times. Sat me in a chair for a manicure, and then I had to remind them again that I needed a pedicure as well. They hurt me multiple times while doing my nails and to top it off the paint job looks absolutely horrible. *If you tend to get gel and have them take it off for you, they have you soak your hands in a bowl of acetone instead of wrapping foil with cotton around your finger tips. ONLY thing good about the place is the price, but then again I'd much rather pay $15-20 more for good customer service and a good paint job. Also, don't know why it's called "Modern Nails" because the place is a mess and needs some re-decorating. read more
