Chicken Wrap (My friend would not stop raving about this)
Will B.

I have eaten at Glendale Pizza many times, & yet I'm just now reviewing them. It's a standalone restaurant style business with its own parking lot. It's a medium to large sized venue. The interior is what you would expect from a "pizza place," & the staff are all quick and to the point. There's a side just for ordering to-go, & another side with plenty of tables and chairs for sitting. The food is always good, I have never had a bad experience here. Today we collectively had the Peppa Pig pizza, Grandma Pizza, Chicken Caesar Salad, Chicken Wrap, & Penne Vodka w/Chicken. All excellent. Definitely a go-to spot for good pizza & dishes. Honestly can't remember a time a had a good experience here. The food is okay but the service is terrible. On this episode of what could go wrong at Glendale we ordered six sandwiches and two orders of fries and if we didn't ask if all the sandwiches were there we would have left without two sandwiches. When we questioned they were all flustered and then said they would be back in a second while we took our fries. That second lasted roughly 20 mins without any communication of what was going on or an apology. In fact there was no apology at all for the mistake and we ended up going home with cold fries in two containers that weren't even full as you can see in the pictures. When we got home we also noticed that not of the six sandwiches were labeled so we had to play roulette to find who's was who's. Overall would not recommend this place until they get their acts together.

Cheesesteak with the "works" no fries.

When my whole cheesesteak did not have fries inside the sandwich and my Pasta e Fagioli was chicken noodle soup. I was unable to reach customer service when the phone goes on a busy signal. When I'm making a complaint about an order place, I was given the ultimatum of waiting for your order to be taken back. Meanwhile, there's no driver available and I'm hungry? Make it make sense. Well, it was my first time ordering and quality of service needs to improve.

I've been coming here for years and have not had a slice that I haven't liked! It is one of my favorite pizza places, hands-down. All of their pizza is consistently delicious; i love the pepperoni pizza pies, but my favorites are the specialty slices. Spicy Brooklyn (with hot honey), grandma, and white mushroom are my favorites. I love going in and having different slices to choose from every time! I haven't had their pasta dishes, but I'm sure they are just as wonderful as everything that I've tried before.

We had a party there today. Even though there was no waitress due to pandemics, but since the place was opened and they are still making pizza, we decided to use the location. We are so glad that everything worked out. We just order at the front and they will deliver to our table. They provided all the plates and utensils so it worked out. There were 22 of us and it was just family members so we felt so comfortable there. The food came out great, no one had an issue with dishes prepared. Many dishes were ordered by different members and everybody was happy with what they got. This place is one of our frequent visit places/favorites. They are also close to home. I never had an issue here. I will continue to come here for any Italian dishes. I would have no problem recommending this place.

Millburn Deli - Friday Joe (tuna & egg salad combo)

I love Millburn Deli! This is my preferred location, although I am not surprised to see they now…read morehave many locations across NJ. Millburn is the flagship store, so naturally there are menu items exclusive to this location. I've noticed that the hours of operation here are slightly different than all of the others (this one opens and closes earlier). There's minimal parking in front of the store, rarely available. Your best bet is to park on the side of the store in the small parking lot. It's free for the first 30 minutes, but there is a meter. I love that the lot is also connected to Taylor Park, a cute neighborhood open space with a fountain. The 5 stars continue to stick for me because I've never had a bad sandwich here. My favorite two are The Griller #8 (with extra pesto or garlic mayo, depending on my mood). And the Friday Joe is always a hit! This time I opted for the Egg Salad sloppy joe with red onion. They could be more generous with the pickles. But the sandwich is a hit! I always appreciate that if you ask to sample anything, they're more than happy to oblige. The service is efficient and even if it's crowded they move pretty quickly. It can be a bit overpriced, especially if you want to substitute or add anything. But it's always satisfying and worth it in the end.

They have to put a lot of thought and love into everything that they put out. Home of the best Sloppy Joes!! From sandwiches to salad to iced tea and desserts I highly recommend this place. I had to take the time to leave a review this time because I felt it was very overdue. The gobbler sandwich is yummy, The Godfadda, The Gossip Girl, I also have had an egg salad with layer of tuna salad Sloppy Joe-that is amazing! The Cobb salad is also a fave. My friends rave about all the sandwiches they have tried. They are very friendly behind the counter and the order takers are fast and efficient. It gets crowded but moves fast.

I've driven…read moreby this pizza shop many times over the years but it was always at an odd hour when they were closed, so I took this as an opportunity to check it out. Johnny Napkins is a chain of pizza shops (they recently opened a location in Cranford) and it definitely has a sense of humor about itself. When you walk in the walls are painted with various characters including their mascot "Johnny Napkins". It really adds a fun feel to the space. They have plenty of seating including large tables with about 6-8 tall seats around them and a bar where individuals can sit and eat. Shakers with garlic salt, pepper and more are spread throughout the eatery so you can spice up your slices. The main counter has a glass case with a bunch of square and round pies on display. I wound up getting a slice with mushrooms and a BBQ chicken slice. Service was super friendly and efficient. These folks were *busy* with a constant stream of walk-ins and phone calls at the same time. I was very impressed. My slices came quickly and I sat at the counter to enjoy my food. The slice with mushrooms was excellent. Nicely heated up, a good crust and just the right amount of cheese. It was not too salty and had plenty of flavor. The BBQ chicken slice however featured a thicker crust (even though it was a slice from a round pie). I prefer a thinner crust but this was still good with a nice chew. The only reservation I had were the chunks of chicken themselves. They were a *tad* dry but this was the last slice on the platter, so I imagine it had been there for a minute (and I knew this, so this one's on me). I'm really glad I stopped into Johnny Napkins. Now I know it's a good slice and will definitely visit any of their locations in the future.

I hadn't been to this location in over a year, but Michelle reminded me what real customer service looks like. She was patient, kind, and genuinely attentive -- especially as she helped me navigate my birthday points. She never rushed me, never made me feel like a burden, and walked me through everything with a smile. And let me say this: people underestimate the gift it takes to make a perfect sandwich. I watched her work, and the precision, care, and pride she put into every step was beautiful. She made my sandwich flawlessly. On top of that, she offered me a drink on the house -- a small gesture that meant a lot on my birthday. Michelle is the kind of employee who brings people back. She is warm, professional, and naturally gifted at what she does. If she ever opens her own restaurant, I would support her without hesitation. She made my birthday meal special, and I want her to know she is appreciated. Michelle deserves recognition, appreciation, and yes -- Employee of the Month. She earned it.

My kids love the Rosemary Parmesan bread. This one in particular at least seems to be very frugal on the meat. I even ordered extra meat on door dash for an extra $4 and it was still very lonely on the giant sub. I'll take it over McDonalds for a fast meal anytime. In Boise, Idaho, I'd be grateful to find it. But in NJ, as the name implies: stick to a mom & pop.
