So I finally came to try the famous donuts everyone in Key West seem to be raving about. My favorites were the almond fritter and bacon donut. I love Key Lime pie but didn't fall in love with the donut version. Some of the donuts were more on the dry side. I had a major hangover from the night before so I ordered a mimosa which is a nice option on a Sunday morning. My kids enjoyed the experience and I took some donuts home for my boyfriend to try. WOW! This is going to be one of my go to places in the morning! I got the sticky knot and my husband got the maple bourbon bacon donut. Both were delicious!! Not only do they have amazing donuts but they also serve a great cup of cold brew! I love that they have simple syrup at the coffee bar for iced coffee..it's so much easier than stirring your coffee for 5 mins waiting for the sugar to dissolve. We had the blackberry meyer lemon filled donut and the apple almond fritter. They weren't the cheapest donuts out there but they were delicious. The dough itself in the donuts was great even without glaze. The apple fritter had slices of fresh apple. It was heavy too! Those two donuts filled us up. Don't be fooled by the fact that this is a doughnut shop......they make a world class Caffe Latte. A good latte is art with a little science and the barista has to give a sh** for it to be great. John has all that and great doughnuts too. Walk right by the "coffee" store next door and enjoy a great experience here. These are hands down the best doughnuts that I've ever had. In high school I worked in a doughnut shop as a baker and I was never able to bake doughnuts as well as the people at Glazed Donuts. Ok let me explain my rating. While this place is in a great location just off Duval I wasn't blown away by the donuts. The staff was nice but the doughnuts were very lite in flavor and air filled. The prices were a little higher than other more known doughnut places (lets say Dunkin Donuts), if the flavor was amazing I wouldn't mind but it really left me underwhelmed. read more

Terrible people and service. After buying our donuts and tipping, we asked for a cup of water for our dogs. Instead of saying, "sure, happy to get one", was told, with a roll of the cashier's eyes, that there is a bowl outside. I responded that we know but didn't want our dog sharing a bowl on the street (outside, dirt, diseases). The cashier rudely stated, "well that's the point of the bowl so...". He picked up a empty cup, put it on the counter by the barista, and ignored me, moving to the next customer. I even tipped them before this debacle, and he didn't even acknowledge. What miserable people and will never come back. And yea, their donuts are a gimmick tourist trap, and no different than any other speciality donut shop. read more

I was so happy to see that there was a donut place when I did my yelp search of Key West. I'm a sucker for donuts and love weird artsy ones. That being said with my joy and happiness I walked into this joint. Everything looks great in there display cases and I thought to myself,"this should be awesome!" Then I step up to the counter to the hipster Douchebag who gives me the,"these donuts are from god and are to good for this peon" look. I order the maple bacon and the chocolate. I then ask for 2 coffees and he looked at me like I just murdered his favorite child. Get my things and pay. Now there is a tip jar in front. I place a dollar in there and the guy looks at me and walks away. No "thank you" or anything. I thought man these donuts must be awesome if they dont care bout customer service. Now to the donuts. There are absolutely nothing special bout these donuts. It's all hype. To me they just taste like fresh store brand donuts. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. read more

Glazed Donuts was a fun visit! When you get there, there are various donuts on display so you can get a good idea of what you want to eat. You can also order coffee if you'd like which definitely pairs well with donuts. The guy that took our order was not friendly, but the sweet donut made up for his salty attitude. Glazed Donuts has the BEST donuts i have ever eaten. My favorite so far is the blueberry pie donut... absolutely amazing. The quality of the ingredients from the dough to the fresh fruit really makes a difference. I try a lot of independent and unique donut shops whenever we travel, and not one has come close to being better than Glazed. Glazed is definitely worth the stop if you are in KW. read more

In it, you'll find a mix of locals sipping on their morning java and eating a simple (but excellent) glazed donuts as well as fresh-off-the-boat cruisers just disembarked from the latest liner in port gobbling up their specialties: Key Lime donuts. Either way, this place can (and does) sell out before close, so be sure to put this earlier rather than later on your daily agenda. The bakers are really amazing and do their core business extremely well. All the doughnuts are commendable; but with a special shout out to the basics: plain, glazed, chocolate, etc. There's a bit of a tiered pricing system, with some of the more exotic specialty flavours (e.g., Key Lime Pie, pistachio) around $3.00, while the basics can cost less than a buck. Both are good, but the donuts really shine at their base level. Simple cake donuts here are really spectacular. Go ahead and try their specialties because, hey, you're likely on vacation. We were told about Glazed Donuts by a chef friend who said he recently stopped in and the donuts were amazing. My husband & I were coming to Key West from Key Largo for the night. We had Glazed as our first stop in town bc they close at 3pm on Sundays and are closed on Mondays. Due to traffic we arrived in town at 2:40 pm & frantically searched the busy, pedestrian filled streets for a parking spot = no luck. My husband decides to just run in while I loop around the streets in the car. Disappointingly, when he's back in the car he says he almost walked out bc the employee behind the counter was sarcastic and rude when my husband asked if the donuts out were the last selections available. The employee responded with a sweep of his hand saying 'well, these are the donuts we have out, so yes, I'd say this is the last of the selection.' But, we made such an effort to make it to the shop in time he knew he couldn't show up to the car empty handed. As for the donuts, all that was left was chocolate frosted so he purchased 2 of those - they we nice size, spongy and good enough, I'm sure would have been much better in the early hours of the day. read more
