I had SUCH high hopes for this little donut joint, but sadly, it did not live up to the hype for me. I should preface this by saying that I grew up with "Fractured Prune" donuts in Rehoboth Beach, DE and I currently thrive on Paula's Donuts in Buffalo, NY. So to say this little bakery had its work cut out for it, is an understatement. Walking in, impressions were good. Great merch, cute murals on the wall, and an interesting way to display the flavors of the day. Donut flavors were varied and sounded interesting. We tried the Chocolate Lovers, Cinnamon Sugar, Black Raspberry Lemon, and Key Lime. The disappointment starts here though. The donuts were dry, and the flavored ones didn't wow us with flavor, it was more of a hint of flavor. The cinnamon sugar was the best of the lot, but still suffered from the dry base recipe. I really wanted to love this place, but I just don't. I struggled with giving 2 or 3 stars, but I have high hopes for this local shop, and what it lacks in execution, it makes up for in style. So in the hopes that they perfect their base recipe, I give 3 stars. read more

The donuts are great. I'm a local and come in approximately once a week, usually on weekends. Today, my friends kid escaped behind the counter and was quickly removed by his dad. One of the employees, a tall young man with short black hair, briskly instructed him to leave the area. Fair enough. This was followed by a series of snide comments about his lack of parenting skills. To the owner of this establishment, this sort of thing makes me want to never come back. While in Key West this became our breakfast stop 3/5 days (and I put on the pounds to show it). These donuts are fresh and the flavors unique from the chain variety. Coffee is awesome, and served to you with a hugely greater attitude than that of the Starbucks a few blocks away. But the OJ is probably the best on the island, wish I could have brought that home by the bucket full! The fact that I actually purchased one of their t-shirts (kinda love the logo) is a testament to how awesome I think these donuts are and the little quirks of the shop- um robots fighting with donuts mural on the wall? freaking awesome- make it a place that I want to hang out in every day. We came across this delicious little hole in the wall as I searched for an internet cafe ( I know, how 90's of me) to do a last minute work assignment that had almost slipped my mind. I saw the sign for donuts and my spirit animal took the form of Homer Simpson and I just had to go inside and try one. I ended up trying three, and they were warm, fresh, and delicious! I can thank my trusty Yelp app, yet again, for steering me toward 420 Eaton Street (is this location a coincidence LOL?). I confess, I've eaten my fair share of donuts in this lifetime. Admittedly, I've dined on Dunkin' and kraved those Krispy Kremes from hot off the press. More recently, I've delved into the craft donut scene by exploring Mojo Donuts and Rhino here in South Florida. I have to say Glazed is right up there in the upper echelon of fluffy, sweet, fried treats and they deserve an award or something. These donuts are almost too pretty to eat. I just want to stare at them and imagine all the flavors I would invent and then devour. When I visited the shop, I had a hungry crew of 5 people with me who were getting ready to party hardy so we wanted to make sure to fill up on doughy-goodness to sop up all the booze. Noticing the 20% discount for a dozen donuts, we quickly decide on this as an option and begin strategizing on our choices. The first pick was easy - all of us were about the maple bacon. We scooped up the last 4 available. I was reluctant at first, but decided on the apple almond fritter, too. You can't buy donuts without picking out a chocolate frosted option, so we picked the Chocolate Lover's over the Chocolate frosted option. Last but not least, we threw in a Key Lime and a Blackberry Bullseye for good measure. I already had a few cups of coffee that morning, so getting the 2X1 mimosa for $9 was a no-brainer. My crew and I gathered around the table and literally tore through these donuts like rabid beasts, oooing, ahhhhing and snarling about which donuts we liked better. I hate to rank these, because all of them were 100000% delicious, but if forced to choose, I'd say 1st Place goes to Apple Almond Fritter. OMFG. These things are damn delicious. They go beyond the traditional apple fritter by adding a touch of almond essence that just brings it all together. In a close 2nd Place - Maple Bacon. How can you not like a pillowy donut topped with a layer of maple frosting and bites of candied bacon? 3rd place goes to the Blackberry Bullseye. Quite literally, the perfect jelly donut, however so much more complex with hints of orange and a spice I can't quite put my finger on. Needless to say, I really liked this place and am kind of glad it's all the way in Key West so I don't find myself here all the time undoing all the work I put in at the gym. Having recently been diagnosed with a severe Gluten allergy you can imagine my disappointment when I came across this magnificent bakery in Key West. That aside the Bakery Owners were AWESOME! I got a fabulous Vanilla Latte some suggestions from the head Baker regarding Gluten Free cookbooks and got to witness the making of these amazing Donuts which my husband had and I vicariously experienced through him. The line of repeat patrons on Sunday morning were evidence that these Donuts truly are amongst the best of the best. Everything smelled WONDERFUL we came back twice during our weekend stay in Key West, we even brought Donuts back home to Miami for friends to experience. Everyone said they were the BEST they'd ever had hands down and without a doubt! The best donuts I have ever had. There is a crispness on the outside with an airy fluff of deliciousness inside. None of their donuts disappoints, but the Key Lime is my favorite. It is a large, messy, lovely creation that makes for a beautiful morning. The coffee isn't too shabby either and they are always pleasant and smiling.
