I'm not usually one to complain because I understand everyone is human and mistakes happen, but this was by far the worst service I've ever received here. I initially requested my usual tech Mimi but more recently she has been staying busy and have had a few different techs these last few time. My pedicure tech started off well, and the foot massage in the beginning was honestly the only positive part of the experience. After that, things quickly went downhill. She would reposition my foot herself, then somehow end up pushing it and blame me for "moving," even when I wasn't moving at all. At one point, she kept readjusting my foot and lightly slapping it while saying, "No move," which felt rude and uncomfortable. While clipping my nails, she repeatedly tried wiping the clippers on the towel under my feet, but in doing so, she poked/stabbed my feet several times. Thankfully, she didn't fully break the skin, but it was still painful and concerning. When it came time to paint my toes, I watched her smudge the polish herself, yet she again blamed me for moving. I asked if she could fix it, which she did, but then she dropped the polish brush onto my pants and leg, leaving polish on both unknowingly to me, ensuring me that it was not on my skin or pants. She also smudged the same toe again during dropping the brushed, proceeded to look right at it, tapped my foot, and smiled without properly correcting it. The final part that really upset me was the massage. I had paid for a 5-minute massage, but she did it dry without using any lotion. When I asked if she would be using lotion like in my previous appointments, she simply said, "No, no worry." It was extremely tense and uncomfortable -- honestly the least relaxing massage I've ever had. To make matters worse, she started the massage around XX:50, realized around XX:51 that she hadn't set the timer, and then changed it from 5 minutes down to only 1 minute and 30 seconds, ending around XX:53. At that point, I was so frustrated and uncomfortable that I just wanted to leave. I had somewhere to be afterward, which is why I got the pedicure in the first place, and once I left (changed clothing) my friend noticed there was still a very noticeable spot of dried polish on my leg from when the tech dropped the brush. I was honestly embarrassed and extremely disappointed. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to leave a complaint about any service. I've always enjoyed coming here, which makes this even more disappointing. I truly hope management addresses this, because the level of care and professionalism I experienced today was unacceptable. I wasn't even able to get the tech's name.

I've been coming here for a while now on my sisters recommendation and I'm hoping I'll never have to go anywhere else for many reasons: 1. Lee and his wife Lily are so very thoughtful and personable. I love to see them and every other nail tech interaction I've had has been very pleasant. They also are quick to make sure you are comfortable and they offer drinks. 2. Every pedicure/ set of nails I've had here are always top tier and the prices are fair. There have been times (at other nail salons) where I pay a good chunk of change for nails that break/scuff/only last a week. Not here! My nails stay looking good!!! 3. This place practices great sanitation and has patrons wash their hands upon entry and I just love that. 4. My last visit was extra special as I was getting my bridal nails done for my wedding. Lee made sure I was perfectly satisfied and was extra attentive. I paid an amount similar to other visits. That meant a lot to me because in my dealings with other business for the wedding, some people will charge you extra or try to upsell you if they know it's for a wedding. Not the case here. It all started when I came in later in the evening, around 6:30 and they close at 7:30 however, they willingly let me have a mani/pedi. I'd hoped I wasn't going to keep them late, but they gave me THE MOST EXCELLENT service I've had. The gentleman was just that -gentle and paid extreme attention to detail, but he was still rather swift. -Perfect! Then they put me in the wonderful massage chair that spawned an instant relaxing rest of my evening... better than most. So now, I've got the pedicure happening while the manicurist finishes the last touches. They worked well in tandem as a team, taking care not to mess up the polish on my nails. Almost spontaneously, the gentleman finished with my gel polish and handed it off to the lady as soon as she was finished caring for each of my toes. Let me not skip how wonderfully she took care on this pedicure. This gracious lady did more to each toe than I've ever seen. On top of that, I got a tremendous warm stone massage. She deserves 5+ stars. There is a male who is either the mgr or owner. He was the first one to start treating me poorly. I had to return due to gel polish coming off 1 nail....which had never happened & hasn't happened since. It was at about the week mark and Sara was happy to fix it. I had scheduled a slightly earlier appt but had an unavoidable delay. So, I came in later in my lunch break and explained if she couldn't do it I would return after work since I was ~20 min. later than planned....on me. She asked her current client if she would mind if she fixed the 1nail & the client was super nice, said no prob. I had already pulled out $10 to give Sara. B4 I could hand it to her, the man at front began yelling at me telling me I better tip her. Sara became upset saying that I owed her no tip bc the polish shouldn't have chipped. She tried to refuse the tip but I insisted bc she had been nice enough to fit me in. Fast-forward about 4 mos & Sara left on vac for a month. My nails were lasting nicely but after 3 weeks i decided on a polish chg due to an event I had. Person new 2 me spent about 10 minutes thoroughly inspecting my nails and wouldn't answer if there was a problem. She walked off & returned to do the same thing a couple of times insisting that I did not have gel polish on my nails. I told her that was not true. She then went to one of the? Asst mgrs who came over and said the same thing. I told them to look at my toes to see the perfect match...which is impossible to achieve unless it's the same substance. They then insisted that i had powder. I told them I had only done powder once in my life, it wasn't with them and I would never do it again (side note...as a physician, it is not rec due to most salons' communal dipping which is unsanitary and increases risk of infection). This went on for another 10 min to the point that they lied and said they checked the system to verify my last service and insisted it was dip. I then insisted on seeing proof of that at which time they changed and said it must be acrylic. Again, have only done that once...not with them. I prefer gel. They then "apologized" and said it was just because "those services cost more"...??!!!...what the what??!!!...and that had what to do with me and my request to change my GEL POLISH??!! At that point I became upset and told them that I did not appreciate the way they were talking to me and implying as though I had done something wrong or unscrupulous. They again apologized saying they would take care of me, but then began insisting that Sara must have added extra coats of polish or topcoat???!!!. So, now i felt they were then trying to drag her name thru the mud and imply she had done something wrong. Meanwhile the sweet young lady that was changing the polish on my toes was done while the person working on my nails hadn't started. I wouldn't have come back if it wasn't for Sara. Fast forward two visits later and I had my sister with me who has Alzheimer's. It was a Wed and when we checked out, I reminded the lady checking me out (also either mgr or co-owner) to add my sr citizen discount. She asked for my id despite me having been there for well over a year getting that discount or the medical discount on Mondays. No prob. I showed her and she proceeded to tell me that I was not old enough...I'm 59 soon to be 60. She insisted that it has always been 65 for the discount. I calmly said no one had ever said that in the entire time i had been coming (& that included her but I didn't go there). She insisted it has always been the policy, followed by running outside to check their promo board......I pointed out that most places start sr discounts at 55, to which she replied that they are their own business separate from anyone else. She pointed out that i couldn't use my points and a sr discount together anyway so rec i use my points. When i paid for my sister's, she started again b4 she even looked at her driver's license. I pointed out that my sister was 66! She seemed disappointed . It's a 10% discount!! I get that businesses are likely feeling the economic crunch...but so are consumers! Don't offer the discounts if you don't intend for them to be used. I soo used to love this place. I would have given them a rating of 10 on the 5 point scale... but they charge too much (plus i tip 20%) to be treated poorly. I will likely continue going bc of Sara...she is the best and I always get tons of compliments on my nails. Mani/pedis should be a relaxing experience. It's sad that many of the nail salons have a way of stressing you out more than when you entered. If this continues, I will likely have to start searching for a new place. The work is sloppy. Prep is very minimal. The rounded flat head used for cleaning up French tips looked like a witches broom so I knew it wasn't leaving with crisp or clean line work. I stated that I like my nails square and sharp multiple times and she still rounded the tips. Somehow they are at an angle, lifted, and rounded, bizarre. There's no apex to be seen. There was polish running over my edges that I had to file off when I got home. After almost 2 hours, I just decided to pay for the set, tip, and leave. On the plus side, Sally, beauty is 20 steps away and you can go buy whatever you need to fix it yourself at home.
