For those of you who have been to Chi Spacca and ordered their Foccacia Di Reccco and loved it, then you are in for a treat. This place specializes in occacia Di Reccco, it costs about half the price (granted, its smaller in size) and it tastes absolutely amazing. I am definitely going to be getting this every time I come to Smorgasburg. I'd say the only downside is the wait time. When we ordered they said 10-15min when in reality it took about 25min.

Focaccia di Recco from Glad is the best thing ever. Going into Smoragsburg on Sunday, I *knew* I wanted to try it but my goodness! It was carb perfection with bubbling bursts of baked cheese. Chef Kaymakcalan trained under the legendary Nancy Silverton and learned how to do this craft. Let's just say he learned it, made it his own and expanded in the best ways possible. When you visit them at Smorgasburg, there is a "Focacettes" option for $18 to try 4 flavors of your choice. This is the right choice to try many types and discover your favorites. I tried a few and loved them all. The 'original' was simple but still so perfect and cheesy with stracchino, olive oil and sea salt. The leek n'duja was beautiful making me feel healthy with calabrian chili and pecorino romano, lol. My favorite of the focaccia flight was 'the sweet one' - OH.Em.Gee. I am very strongly going back to Smorgasburg tomorrow just to get that thing. So good. Ingredients included were sweet cheese, pistachio, honey, and mascarpone. Seriously the best combination for a meal end cap. I'm so obsessed with Glad! Now the big question, do I go back tomorrow for more?!

I ordered the Spinach & Bok Choy Focaccia at the Silverlake Farmers Market. Made fresh and hot to order. The focaccia is crispy and Bok Choy adds a nice refreshing crunch to each bite. Can't wait to try more options!

A husband and wife team serving delicious Ligurian-style focaccia that is made to order, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. Chef Cihan stretched focaccia for Nancy Silverton at Chi Spacca for years, and has perfected the style while adding a new dimension with the choice of several savory versions and a particularly impressive dessert iteration. Try them all!

I tried this rare type of focaccia once in my life and that was at Nancy Silverton's Chi Spacca. I never forgot the unique, layered taste of it. Then I closely witnessed that one of Nancy's apprentices, Chef Cihan, opened a pop-up restaurant only to sell those focaccias. Furthermore, he added bunch of other flavors! I had the chance to be one of the first people who tried his incredible focaccias and I ate until I almost passed out! These beauties are slightly crispy outside and fluffy and juicy inside. The taste is like nothing you've ever tried, but also feels familiar thanks to the perfect balance of dough, meet, veggies, cheese, oil and salt. Once you 'experience' one, there is no way to stop. I can eat here in the morning, at lunch, at dinner, or anytime I need a snack. It's extremely rare when you try a new taste and make it your all time favorite thing to eat. That happened to me with Chef Cihan's creations. I'll be back guys. Very soon!

Something so special about finding mature and refined tastes amongst a sea of over rich processed foods in Los Angeles. The breakfast plate was the perfect portion to start the day! The focaccia texture was to die for and the assortment of dips combined with the burrata were divine. Only criticism was not being given an eta for my order whilst battling the summer heat at the farmers market.

I'm very Italian & thought myself a pro when it comes to the Iberian palate. However, wow. I was unprepared for the goodness that is Glad's focaccia di Recco. Took about 15 minutes from ordering to receiving. I brought them home & reheated them for 5 min in a 450° oven. The dough stayed light & felt almost phyllo-esque yet with the bite of a pizza dough. Cheesy, flavorous, wonderful. Turns out there is more to be discovered when it comes to Italian cooking. These may not be the biggest portions, but due to the big flavors + richness, one focaccia di Recco per person is perfectly enough (but maybe next time I will get "the sweet one" to cap off my evening.)

    The best!

The place was somewhat small but wasn't really busy for a Saturday afternoon, and we noticed they had some spacious auxiliary seating areas specifically for Oakobing across the hall. At first glance, the prices seemed sort of high for shaved ice, so we opted for sharing 2 of the smallest personal sizes ($8.5 each). It turns out that this size was plenty. I'm not sure how big the regular bowls are, but I think especially after a meal the personal size is plenty for a satisfying dessert for 2 people. I'm assuming part of the large price difference in sizes comes down to the large amount of fresh fruit that comes on their regular bowls. Still, we very much enjoyed our bowls. The ice is shaved almost impossibly thin, and rather than melting into a pool of water almost turns into a sorbet/ice cream like texture, which is very satisfying to eat. I enjoyed how their condensed milk topping was diluted to form a lighter cream that was more sauce-like than think and drizzle-like. It all lended to making the dessert enjoyably light. I would definitely drop by again, especially if we could avoid the parking costs.

The flavors feel nostalgic and comforting while still being such a fun modern take on traditional Thai desserts. They have unique flavors like pandan milk, Thai tea, jasmine, coconut butterfly pea, black sticky rice, and even candle smoke salted egg yolk. I also love that they offer more than just gelato, from shaved ice and Thai custard toast to fun drinks and their loaded gelato buns with toppings like sticky rice, grass jelly, palm seeds, sweet corn, and coconut jelly. You can tell there's so much thought put into every item. Definitely one of those places I always crave after trying it once. My only complaint is that I wish they would open more locations because more people seriously need to experience this gem

I've had their gelatos before, and they have very unique flavors (unfortunately the candle smoked and salty egg yolk is not my favorite because it only tastes smoky to me, but some people really love it so I think you should try it if you have the chance). We went on a hot Saturday mid-day, and lots of other people had the same idea, so we had to wait a little bit for a table. They give you a beeper so you can come back once a table is ready. This time, we ordered the mango sticky rice shaved ice, and it was so good my husband and I were mind-blown. It's fun to eat because you get multiple components on one tray, and you can continually go between eating the mango sticky rice and the shaved ice with mango gelato, mango chunks, and coconut cream. Every part of it was so yummy and refreshing, it didn't feel too difficult to share and finish between two people. They hide mango chunks inside the middle of the shaved ice too, so it's not solely a bowl of ice when you get to the bottom. I will go back again just for the mango sticky rice shaved ice because it is so unique and delicious, but when mango season is over, they stop selling it.
