This was NBD for me, but I could see it being a problem for someone else. Statefarm told me that they would come pick up my car at my house and bring it back when they were done, they said that is just not true and no one really does this (maybe that should be a comment for statefarm, not Pittsburgh Collision). Their parking lot is super tiny and a major pain to get in and out of during rush hour. Overall, I am satisfied, and the issues I had were minor, really they didn't even bother me, but I could see someone else getting bent out of shape about them.

The elderly owner looked at the door, went back into the garage, came out with a wooden block, placed it in door hinge, opened/closed door several times, removed block, pulled down in door with his body weight, closed door & it WAS FIXED!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I became sick over the weekend to the point where I couldn't attend classes, go to work, or even get out of bed. On Tuesday, they called asking when I would bring my car in for a paint match. I explained that I was sick and couldn't come, but they insisted that I had to come either Tuesday or Wednesday. When I explained that I physically couldn't make it, they became aggressive, started yelling at me, and threatened to throw my belongings onto the street if I didn't show up. They accused me of lying and claimed that I had agreed to come on Tuesday. I acknowledge that we initially discussed Tuesday, but they had also told me that the paint job wouldn't be ready until the following week. I wasn't trying to back out of our agreement. I was simply sick and unable to leave my bed. I repeatedly explained my situation and pleaded with them to give me some flexibility. I told them I would come as soon as I was physically able, but I couldn't promise a specific day that week because I didn't know when I would recover. Instead of showing any understanding, they continued yelling, hung up on me, and stopped answering my calls. I genuinely don't understand what I did to deserve this treatment. I was respectful, honest about my circumstances, and willing to follow through as soon as I could. I don't believe that being sick justifies being yelled at, accused of lying, or threatened. What makes this even more upsetting is that I'm a college student paying for these repairs entirely out of pocket. I can't help but feel that they're treating me this way because they believe I'm in a vulnerable position and won't stand up for myself. I seriously doubt they would speak to a higher-paying customer this way. I was simply asking for some understanding while I recovered from being sick. I don't think that was unreasonable, and I certainly don't think the way I was treated was fair or professional.
