We met the owner, Stefano, and despite the restaurant being at its busiest peak, he couldn't have been more welcoming, kind, and attentive. Speaking Italian with him instantly brought us back to Italy. He embodies the warmth and hospitality we miss so much. The food was authentic, fresh, and clearly made with great attention to detail. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu, and every dish was outstanding. Honestly, it's hard to choose a favorite because everything was so good. Even our kids said they felt like they were back in Italy. They especially loved the pizza. If you're looking for real Italian food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Piciocchi's is a must. We can't wait to come back!

They are not the most friendly, but they were not rude by any means. The food came out so strange. Everyones food was a bit cold, and served all at different times for salads and apps. These items were served to us, while our entrees we had to get up and get, which they kept running out of so there was quite a bit of a line forming. The food itself was tasty, not the best Italian I've had in the area, but it was good. It being cold and chaotic though, sort of ruined the experience. They are new to this building and maybe newer staff, so hopefully as they settle in this will figure itself out!

Plenty of seating, nicely organized decorated bar area coupled with a friendly waitstaff. You have to try the whipped ricotta with toasted pignoli with dried fruits on rosemary flatbread. Wow. You could actually make this a meal. Also, the Bucatini with pork/beef partially burnt( on purpose) dish was outstanding with plenty of meat. They didn't skimp on this. Outdoor seating weather permitting. Reservations advised.

Bar Pazzo was a solid dinner option in Scranton! Based on the number of guests in button down…read moreshirts, I guess this is a "high end" restaurant in downtown, and it held its own. The bread and whipped ricotta was a nice starter for the table; the ricotta was a little oily, but the flavor was delicious and the texture itself was nice. And the bread was hearty and the right level of chewy for a nice Italian meal. The rigatoni vodka dish was good, lots of nice creamy flavor from the burrata and the vodka sauce. The rigatoni itself was slightly overcooked, maybe a bit less al dente than I'm used to, but overall still a good dish. Bar Pazzo also has a nice drinks list, with wines and cocktails featured prominently. I tried one of their cocktails, a whiskey and pear concoction. It was tasty, but very sugary, so don't expect their mixed drinks to be liquor-forward. All in all, a solid dining experience!

We split 3 appetizers, the grilled octopus, duck and one other, took some home, entrees were the gnocchi and flat iron steak, both were excellent, have seen reviews that the portions were small but we did not find that to be true also some reviews said you did not get complimentary bread at the table but again that was not true also. Yes it is expensive but if you want a fine dining experience that is unique in our area then this is the place to go.

Both the taste and presentation were underwhelming, particularly given the premium pricing. When a restaurant charges above-average prices, customers should reasonably expect a comparable level of quality, attention to detail, and service. Regrettably, none of those expectations were met. Ultimately, the experience offered very little value for the money spent. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone who values their hard-earned money or possesses even a moderately discerning palate.
