It's amazing to me that I can drive by a restaurant for years without ever seeing it. Giovanni's is my most recent reality wake-up - one which I should have stopped by a long time ago. After several meals I can recommend numerous items on the menu. 1) Pizza - of course the pizza was my first litmus test. Great thin crust, the sausage they use is very good, the sauce taste freshly made. OK. - that was good. 2) Antipasto - Damn .... That was good. I'll order that all the time. 3). Have been here a few times and never disappointed. Laid back, casual pizzeria style atmosphere. Friendly and competent staff with short wait time for food. Pasta dishes and standards like cheesesteaks are tasty and portions are great. Salads are crisp and fresh. I always take some home. It's bad. Food arrived 45 mins late cold and mushy. Salad was hot because it was bundled with the hot food. Opened the bag and the container was mushed around like they were tossing it around. Great food with slow service on a busy holiday night made for a bad experience. It was a busy Labor Day Monday so I get it that service might be a little slow. But I can't understand the wait for soup and salad. My families food didn't come for 1hr45mins or the wait for like 15 mins when I drank all my water wanted a refill. Food was good, no question about that. Service though sucked. They forgot the honey mustard on my kids chicken fingers. No big deal for an adult but for a kid, a problem. Have been going to this local sandwich and pizza restaurant at least once a month for the last 5 or so years. The food is usually right on, with fresh rolls, etc. the occasional exception when they haven't gotten a fresh delivery of baked goods, the bread can be a bit stale. Bread is the key to a good sandwich. They have been great being open during this corona situation, serving from a side window to reduce contact, yet allowing purchases. I realize business is down, and if I'm able, i like to try and support my local restaurants as much as i can afford. All this being said, i have worked in the service industry for over 25 years bartending, and i understand how tipping works, and the rates of pay these businesses provide to their employees. Those who rely on tips for most of their pay, ie, bartenders, waiters and waitresses, etc., usually are paid under $3.00 an hour in the state of PA. All others are standard minimum wage, or more set by the owner of such businesses. Management, cashiers, chefs, etc., generally receive the higher of that pay scale, and do not rely on tips to sublime to their income. So why, i ask, is there a tip jar at eye window when i come to pickup my meal? THIS GOES FOR EVERYWHERE THAT DOES THIS PRACTICE! You present my meal i phoned in, take my payment and i leave. I resend totally seeing a tip jar presented at me when i arrive! Did you get me another fork when i dropped mine on the floor? Did you get me more napkins after your brought out my meal? Did you ask if i needed a refill of my beverage? We're you attentive to my table??? NO You simply accepted my payment. The kitchen staff never receives tips. For what?? They're paid to be there doing their job. And to top it off, unsolicited, I'm asked after i have given my card for payment, "if i want to put my tip on the card receipt?"!!! Playing a kind of guilt card on patrons helping keep your business afloat during these hard times. And i ask "FOR WHAT????" Your staff in in some serious need of training regarding tips, and solicitation of such. And now I'm lead to wonder, "am i now on some black list for not leaving an unjustified gratuity," to perhaps having the quality of any future order, or worse, with anything i may want to order in the future? Now in doubt, I'm. unsure i will patron this establishment again for these reasons alone. Oh, and by the way, our sandwiches were among some of the best I've had from your restaurant in some time. My in-laws live close to Giovanni's and tend to order a variety of items. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten and have experienced dining in on one occasion. They make a bruschetta stuffed garlic bread that is absolutely delicious. Their broccoli and chicken Alfredo was also a delightful option and came with a fresh side salad and garlic bread sticks. The bread has a very rustic feel.. cut into rather uneven strips, but delicious, none the less. Their pizza has a yummy sauce and salty cheese, which is perfection. The garlic knots are covered in hefty chunks of garlic. Great for those who don't mind smelling like they're trying to ward off dracula.. which I do not. ;) Any of the pasta and chicken dishes that my in-laws have ordered for catered events have been spectacular and taste great as leftovers. The only issue I have found was dining in. The parking lot is a mess and people park on the sidewalk. Not kidding. The restaurant gets very busy and the wait staff has a hard time keeping up. It seemed a bit of a disorganized mess.. not much synchronicity. Perhaps the experience is different when the crowd isn't nearly as large, but Giovanni's seems to be a very busy place. This place is so terrific. We avoided it for years because we thought it couldn't be possibly be more than a run of the mill pizza joint. However we were pleasantly surprised to find that their menu is fabulous. The linguini pescatore is outstanding as are all the seafood pasta dishes. The prices are super reasonable and the quality of the food, pasta, seafood is exceptional. This is the best value you will find for Italian food in the warrington/ Jamison area. This is the place where you can eat 3 x a week, not break the budget and have Italian meals that are better than what you can cook on your own. i've been going here for nearly 10 years, not because the food is particularly good but because it's the most convenient game in town. not anymore. it's gotten to the point where they screw up my orders more than they get them right. in the past i've even ordered spaghetti with meatballs and had them give me a foil container full of sauce and one meatball with no pasta whatsoever. that time i laughed with them about it, but after maybe 5 out of the last 10 orders were screwed up, i've lost my sense of humor. when i received hot wings with no sauce or blue cheese, completely dry and shriveled, i took them back tonight and saw another table walking out and yet another customer who appeared to be receiving a refund and an apology. they barely apologized and couldn't even give me a free can of soda for my troubles. $1.22 for a can of coke to help endure the 5 or 10 minute wait for them to dump sauce on my old, cold order was worth the price -- especially because i used the time to resolve to never go back again. read more

Entrees like chicken parm come with a side of pasta that we never even touch on the first day of eating! I love this place for a family of hungry boys as their portions are huge and we actually have leftovers. My husband and I ALWAYS share an entree and we both enjoy eating. Have been there twice. The first time I went I was lured there by friends who raved about the large and tasty chicken parm. So I had the a seafood combo in red gravy. The gravy was somewhat watery and "young" like it wasn't cooked down. It wasn't too bad, and service was good. They don't use a top grade of pasta, though. Went a second time a week later and ordered veal. Absolutely horrible. Was one of those pre-formed patties, like a hamburger, compressed into looking like a cutlet. Even had the grid markings on the bottom from when it was first made. Was gristly and tasteless. Service that night was poor. Our server was more concerned with working in the back than checking on on us, had to ask other servers to bring us stuff. Just one of those nights when any tip was too much. One last observation that turned my stomach: They took the pies that they used for slices, and saved them for sale for the next day. They could have sent the slices home with the help, or tossed them, but they were definitely being preserved. So, word to the wise, if you go there for slices, and the slices look beat, they probably are because they are antiques. I have been in there in the daytime, and seen the old slices. Of course, they deny that it it last night's pizza, but you'd have to be blind to not be able to see that it's an OLD pizza. Good luck, there's better pizza from two places within a quarter mile of Giovannis. And both easy to find - Randazzo's and Brothers. I am done with Giovannis unless I hear otherwise. read more

We frequently get takeout from here and it is consistently delicious and plentiful. The front desk staff are always polite on the phone and in person and they are super fast on pickups. We have been eating at restaurants owned by the Anzalone family for over 20 years - first at Pizza Pasta in Warminster also at a small pizza shop in Dresher and at Adrianna's in Richboro. Giovanni's is our "go-to" place on Saturday evening. As stated in other reviews, there might be a lengthy wait if you arrive after 6:00. They will take reservations for a party of 6 or more. As far as recommendations, I have never had a bad meal. My favorite meals are Chicken Margarita, Chicken Marsala, and Eggplant Parmigiana. All of the pasta dishes are delicious and the marinara sauce is excellent. Plan on going hungry- or going home with enough leftovers for another meal. My husband and I have settled into the habit of splitting a caprese appetizer (I think it gets larger every time we order it) and 1 entree - plenty of food for both of us. On our latest visit, we had a party of 6. We had a reservation, but still had a bit of a wait. Bitty, our waitress, was cheerful, efficient and friendly. We each had a great meal - 3 of us went home with leftovers. read more
