a slice of pizza on a plate
    Julie B.

I love this place! They have so many positives and very few "off" situations that they were happy to make right. We order often, maybe once, sometimes twice a week. I love their system, if you get delivery and prefer to keep a cc on file, the ordering process is super easy and fast! I loooove seeing the hard working young delivery kids HUSTLING! They are all over town and get to you fast! I've heard some village idiots complaining about the new ovens but they're bored to be fair. I've only had one time where the sauce, cheese and toppings were a few inches from the crust. That was such a random fluke and hasn't happened since. ---------------------------- Update- I don't know if this place has just gotten too busy and can't keep up but the food and delivery has just completely fallen off. Pizza arrives like it's been sitting a while, not appetizing and very dry. We seem to have mistake after mistake occur and although they will make it right in their own way, dinner is ruined. Not worth going back. ---------------------------------- I'd just make the following recommendations based on consistency and my personal taste. Eggplant parm dinner is delish! The sub is something I would order again it was just small, not toasted and lacked enough sauce. The stuffed mushroom app is delish and addicting. The buffalo chicken strips are friggen really good! I love that the blue cheese dressing is real. The chicken Florentine is go! Will continue to support this fabulous local business.

    Grease, for days!

After growing up in East Haven, Wallace relocated to the Los Angeles area for a change of pace to live with friends. Over the years there, he held jobs in security management and sales, worked for the fast-casual chain MOD Pizza and pursued a stand-up comedy career in Los Angeles. Taylor became friends with Wallace in college. He visited Wallace often before deciding to relocate to L.A. himself. When COVID hit, Wallace began experimenting with New Haven-style pies in his home kitchen. He and Taylor began to do a series of pizza pop-ups. Wallace named his pizzeria "Ozzy's" after his pet chihuahua. Before long, the business took off. A second location opened at East Rock Market in New Haven (CT) in August 2024. A new flagship location opened in North Hollywood in October 2024, the Glendale location relocated in October 2025, and a delivery kitchen opened in Beverly Hills in January 2026. My son and I recently had lunch at Ozzy's New Haven outpost at East Rock Market. I had heard a lot of great things about them since they opened. This location is run by co-owner Craig Taylor while Wallace runs things on the West Coast. After looking over the menu, my son and I decided to order and share "The Ozzarita" (fresh mozzarella made locally from Liuzzi, fresh basil, and housemade red sauce) and "The Mikey Rabbit" (housemade garlic ricotta cream sauce, freshly ground Italian sausage, baby spinach, pecorino, and mozzarella). Holy cow! These pies were excellent! Crispy crust with the perfect amount of New Haven char, excellent sauces, and very fresh tasting toppings! I washed everything down with some delicious Foxon Park Birch Beer. My son and I also had a nice time chatting with head chef and pizzaiolo Louis Matteo, who was very friendly. It was really cool watching him make the pies and then slide them in the rotating oven. I give Ozzy's my seal of approval! I'll definitely be back!

When you come here for pizza, most people fall into camps based on a pilgrimage to the "Big 3" spots. Our family belongs to neither. We are an Ozzy's Apizza family. As a former Nutmegger and current Angeleno back in Connecticut for a visit, I was excited to see if this version stayed true to its origins and could hold its own in the New Haven scene. I'm happy to say it absolutely does. We started with the Philly cheese egg rolls, which were fantastic, the shell was perfectly crunchy and the inside was a warm, savory mix of meat and gooey cheese. I highly recommend those. Next, I ordered my old favorite, The White Rabbit. It has that perfect New Haven char with incredible dough flavor from the right amount of fermentation and hydration. The cheese they use adds a salty, almost umami depth that is hard to beat. Lastly, we tried their newest pie, the Hot Damn! It's a buffalo chicken-inspired pizza with that same great crust and a nice kick from the spicy sauce, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Proud to say I've known owner Chris Wallace for a few years now and the energy he brings to all parts of his business is inspiring. He has welcomed me with open arms literally at all 4 of his locations he has had over the years. Mad kudos to this guy. Finally it was a pleasure to meet head Ozzy's chef Lou Matteo who is really firing on all cylinders bringing different flavors and takes to New Haven pizza. So excited for what he brings next. Perhaps something LA inspired like "Not Your Mother's CPK" Lastly my favorite thing is the Foxon Park soda. So good to wash this pizza down with! Anyway the East Rock Market is a super cool spot that feels like a mini food hall. I really recommend this place to all the apizza faithful out there. Come check it out.

The place was vibrant, the staff friendly, service on point and the pizza was absolutely delectable! We ordered multiple apps and a variety of pizzas and all was fantastic! A New Haven style pizza but with an East Haven flair. Thin crust, char, great tasting sauce and cheese. The clams casino pizza was hands down perfect. Comparable to the big New Haven pizza biggies in all ways. Foxon Park sodas available. I was so impressed and highly recommend. Restrooms and the entire establishment very clean and well organized. Large parking lot. I will retrurn.

Unlike…read moresome other New Haven area pizzas, the cheese did not separate and fall off, even when the pizza was hot. That is good. High end ingrediants on this pizza. Crust has a good taste. It is slighly thicker than other New Haven pizzas. Oil is in sufficient quantity and tastes great. The blend of crust, tomato sauce, cheese and oil was close to perfect. They make it taste superb. I thought that one glass of soda (one liter) for $2.75 was a bit expensive. I like refills included. Generally, prices were reasonablle. Though the pizza was a five star pizza, the chicken parm was average and 3.5 star, at best. The wall was furnished with nice paintings. Wait service was good. Bathroom was clean. Plenty of parking. A good dining experience.

Everyone that had the Pizza thought it was a very good. Side of french fries was very large. Two kids devoured it by the time I got to take a picture. My mother had this spaghetti and meatballs and liked it a lot. She enjoyed the meatballs himself as they had a lot of flavor and she could see the ingredients inside such as parsley and garlic. My sister enjoyed her angel hair and Alfredo sauce as well as they both enjoyed the soup. Super salad comes with your dinner and as you can see, the soup was very large. My husband had a house salad, and he added blackened shrimp, which came with a good amount of shrimp, avocado, raisins, and almonds. He liked the salad very much. I ordered a special the gnocchi with marinara sauce, and burrata . Overall, the sauce was very good, but I disliked how much sauce was given. For me, I felt like it was too much sauce and my pasta was swimming in it. I would request less sauce the next time I go. Overall, the price was not bad at all. We all enjoy our meal and every single one of us brought food home. Oh, on the sidenote, a good amount of their soups are made vegetarian. This is difficult to find so if you are looking for a vegetarian soup, they told me the escarole and beans, pasta, , pasta fagiol and the lentils were all done.
