I was looking to try some place different for pizza so I decided to give Juanito's Pizza Express a try. I was surprised that the restaurant menu had so many options. I ordered an extra large mozz and sausage pizza to go. I thought it was nice that when my pizza came out of the oven Juanito called me over to the counter to show me the pizza, and asked if that was the way I liked it cooked. I could tell just from the smell that this was going to be good. The pizza was delicious, and the thin crust had the perfect crunch to it. I will definitely be returning. read more

Well I was fooled. Went here yesterday and sat down only to realize the inside looked different. Well Minervini's has closed and this is this new pizza restaurant in that location (8 months). I did not leave but ordered a pizza. The pizza was good, had a great taste, 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese, and the crust had the right amount of crunch. I went to the beverage case to get a Foxon Park soda but no diet/sugar free. I needed something caffeine free and sugar free. I decided on a glass of ice water (tap) from the girl. She already had the glass filled with ice for the bottle of soda. She asked the owner and he said no to the tap water. He said I had to buy a bottle water from the case. NOPE!!! I would have walked but he had already started my pizza order. See it's the little things like that (poor customer service) which will turn me off. I will NOT be going back which is too bad because the pizza was decent. The inside of the restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. Hope they stay in business. read more

We stopped into Juanito's during the Wallingford food crawl, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think much of this place being that it's kind of consumed in the middle of traffic and train tracks but when my first impression is wrong then I have no problem admitting so. They were serving some of their pizza, chicken, franchese, and pasta and every single thing was amazing. That pizza was so so good. I'd drive all the way down to Wallingford to try it every day. It definitely reminds me of Jersey pizza but even better. And we all know CT has an amazing pizza game but in recent memory, I would put Juanitos on the map. Cannot wait to try them again and continue exploring their menu. Follow on IG: https://www.instagram.com/ read more

I was looking for some slices in Wallingford and found this place online and decided to give it a try. It was a clean place inside with several large tables. I got a pepperoni and a cheese pizza and must say, for being slices, they were pretty good. They got the job done. They were thin and crunchy and overall a solid choice if you are in the area. I would recommend. read more

Juanito's Pizza Express in is a true haven for enthusiasts seeking the perfect slice locally or while passing through town. As a born-and-raised New Yorker, I believe pizza is the quintessential food of the people, and Juanito's delivers on that promise with their flavorful and fresh creations. The star of the show is - of course - their pepperoni pizza, delivering a harmonious symphony of flavors to your palette with every bite. Generously adorned with perfectly sliced pepperoni, each piece crisps up beautifully in the fiery oven, releasing its savory oils and creating a delightful aroma. The cheese, a melty blend of mozzarella and provolone, blankets the pizza, providing a creamy backdrop for the robust flavors of the pepperoni. The sauce, which seemed to be made with San Marzano tomatoes, adds an ever-so-slight tangy sweetness which perfectly complements the other ingredients. With a slightly charred and crisp crust, this is a slice of pure bliss. To complement their outstanding pizza, Juanito's also offers cheesy garlic bread that will leave you craving more. Baked to golden perfection, boasting a crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy interior, and generously slathered with garlic-infused butter and topped with a blend of gooey garlic-seasoned cheeses - every bite is a melty, garlicky delight. The combination of flavors and textures creates a heavenly experience which is impossible to resist. To finish off these delectable treats, Juanito's offers a selection of custom drinks sourced from local producers in Connecticut. Whether it's a refreshing craft soda or a unique flavored lemonade, the cooler is stocked with delightful options which provide a refreshing and nostalgic burst of local goodness, adding yet another layer of enjoyment to your experience. At Juanito's Pizza Express, the art of pizza-making shines through in every bite. The harmonious blend of flavors for each slice, paired with irresistible cheesy garlic bread, are testaments to Juanito's dedication to culinary excellence. This was our first time here and we have absolutely found a new local pizza spot; Juanito himself even came out and spoke with my daughter and I to keep us company as the pizza cooked. Couldn't ask for a better spot, don't miss out! read more

My boss likes to get pizza for everyone now and then. It seems like every time he does so, he likes to try a new pizza place. He was driving by the area recently and happened to see Juanito's Pizza had opened up in place of the one that had been there previously. This time he opted to order our pizza from Juanito's and it turned out to be a great idea! He ordered three pizzas, one specifically for me, which I was very grateful for. "Veggie pie, no cheese at all!" is the magic phrase I taught him and he now uses every time he orders a pizza for me. The veggie pie from Juanito's was one of the best I've had, certainly better than a couple other places in Wallingford we've ordered pizza from in in the recent past. I snagged a picture of all 3 pies even though I only ate the veggie one. I'd definitely go back to Juanito's for more pizza sometime soon! read more

Ordered for the first and last time. Ordered a plain red pie. Arrived cold and the sauce was straight from the can. Zero spices. Eggplant parm sub. Cold. Same sauce from the can. Soaked the bread and it turned slimy. Also orders onion rings. They were outstanding. They are the reason for the 3 stars. So skip the pizza and go for the fried food I guess. read more

My experience overall was very average. The pizza could be a lot better and it can use more sauce and cheese pizza is very salty and greasy.

Went here tonight around 8pm after every other pizza place on 150 was closed. Ordered just a steak and cheese, waited about 17 minutes for the cook to chef it up. Came home and was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients were all very fresh and very high quality. Definitely will be returning here again, soon! read more
