    Antipasti salad
    Christi S.

Went to gio's to grab some lunch. You walk in and there are tables and a walk up counter. To the right I believe there was more tables and a bar area. I should've taken pictures of it. The last time I had ordered anything from here was February 2023. I was craving their buffalo chicken salad. The chicken portion seemed smaller as well. My husband got the antipasti salad. Now that was a disappointment. There was like only two slices of pepperoni and the rest of the meat. Really, that is like me making my own salad for work. I expected better. It was good but, I feel like they had changed a few things about it. It seemed smaller than what it was before. What really caught my eye was the slices of pizza. I will definitely be back to try those.

This is by far The Best pizza I've ever had. You get way more that what paying for. I love the pizza by the slice. The Duke. Which is one of my favorites. Is just chuck full of meats, cheese and sauce to die for. And here's what you get for 5 bucks. No kidding. If you noticed. Each box have a single slice. I have them cut in half. There that BIG. This 2 star is solely based on the service or lack there of. I went to eat here with 4 family members yesterday (February 27,2022) and experienced the absolute worst service I've ever had in my life. It literally took us 30 minutes to get our soda and water. I honestly can't express enough that this was the worst service I've ever had.. ever! The kitchen did a great job. Infact they did a phenomenal job!! The owners are either rich and don't care about revenue or are in the dark! If star rating was just based on the food... 4 stars.. just based on the woman that served us... zero stars. It's a shame what we have grown to accept!

Meat lovers slice. Exactly what I wanted.

Great food and great service. Staff is very friendly. Owner cares in the quality of the food he prepare and serves. Variety of foods on the menu. Keep up the great work Gio...

What happened?! Every previous time I've been here the food was amazing. The meat would over flow from the specialty grinders and I'd always need to take half of it home for later. Today the grinders were ridiculously thin. When we commented on how thin they were we were told that the cook said " it's eight ounces of meat". I don't care how many ounces it is, it certainly was nothing like the product that we have come to expect from Gio's.

The Italian Stallion, eat it,enough said !!!

Food was excellent, service at the bar was okay I would say the older bartender was quite rude.

Salad was fresh and crisp with a light balsamic vinegar and olive dressing. Bread was good and a side plate for oil, balsamic vinegar and Parmesan cheese. The pasta was covered with a delightfully light sauce that brought back memories of yesterday with a true Sunday meal. Meatballs were soft and flavor full, sauce was sweet and exploded with flavor as I chewed, pork ribs were nice, soft and the bricole was the star of the show. It broke apart removing it from the family style bowl. $30 each and it was amazing. Family owned and operated, nicely decorated, delightful little place. The waitresses were mother, daughter and had a great personality. We finished up with coffee and split a slice of carrot cake which was very good. Clean, comfortable and delicious. Highly recommend. I will start talking about Figlio by saying my first experience was at a political fundraiser. So the food was buffet style...not the regular service or menu. BUT the food was on another level. This was authentic Italian food at its best. The Chef Bob is retired and Figlio is his retirement!! This is a family run establishment. Bob's niece, Kristin, is the front of the house with her daughter. They are open Wed. through Sunday. On Friday and Saturday they do a prix fixe for $60. The menu changes all the time. They do Sunday Sauce on Sunday, oddly enough. Once again the food I had was out of this world. I will be back to experience the various iterations of the food and will report back. If you are anywhere near Palmer, MA do yourself a favor. Five minutes off the Mass Pike.

Finally, after a long road trip, we called and were able to get a table. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The drinks and appetizer arrived quickly--drinks were good, but the appetizer was not. After that, we waited over an hour for our main courses. It honestly felt like our order may have been forgotten until I asked the waitress how much longer it would be. What made it more frustrating was that the restaurant didn't seem very busy, so the long wait was hard to understand. When the food finally arrived, it was extremely salty and barely edible. We ended up paying and leaving without finishing our meals. The service was also lacking, as the waitress was not attentive throughout our visit. Overall, we were very disappointed with the experience.

This had been a reliable place to hang with an old friend while back in town. Anyway, I sensed quality had taken a hit the last time about four months ago, but this time I didn't even want to box up the leftover pizza. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut the crust. Ingredient quality is way down. And the bar service was crappy to boot. Wtf! 1.5 stars
