My local spot ! This place is the best of both worlds you walk in and on the left side you can just order a pizza or a grinder or you are the bar you can play some games and have the same great food. Quality is awesome, and the prices are very fair I really like going there for lunch and grabbing a slice of pizza they have so many options. My favorite is either the meat lovers or the general. Also a big fan of their meatball grinder, I personally like to add pepperoni! It's a must stop from me every time I'm in town! Went to gio's to grab some lunch. You walk in and there are tables and a walk up counter. To the right I believe there was more tables and a bar area. I should've taken pictures of it. The last time I had ordered anything from here was February 2023. I was craving their buffalo chicken salad. The chicken portion seemed smaller as well. My husband got the antipasti salad. Now that was a disappointment. There was like only two slices of pepperoni and the rest of the meat. Really, that is like me making my own salad for work. I expected better. It was good but, I feel like they had changed a few things about it. It seemed smaller than what it was before. What really caught my eye was the slices of pizza. I like Geo's, some key notes on why I give this pizza shop a five star rating: I never had their food until a few years back when they were in the process of remodeling the bar. I was able to get a vip sneak peak but none the less I think they did a wonderful job with the place. I've dined at the bar a couple times, one time was a late weekend night where I practically babysat my friend who's a drinker. I was impressed when they brought out appetizers for the remaining customers before closing up. That is something more establishments should do. My old fat self would probably eat a whole pizza from there but I like how I can buy by the slice. They have a verity to choose from which makes the trip from the next town over worth it when craving pizza. Delivery is a huge reason why I give them five stars. It is a fifteen minute drive, or eight miles, to my house. I do my best to support the small businesses, if you are a follower of my reviews you can see that. There are three pizza shops in Monson: Monson Pizza, Maria's, and Village Pizza. Monson Pizza and Maria's do not deliver and I wouldn't dare order from Village (quick story, today as I was pulling out of the Adams parking lot I watched a Village Pizza delivery driver pull in. I noticed he was smoking a cigarette and all I could think was why would I ever want this place deliver food to my house?) Anyways I like knowing I can order from Geo's and have my food within 45 minutes and still hot when it arrives. As for the food, I think I have only ordered pizza from here. May have bought a grinder or two but nothing comes to mind. Regardless, I have had no complaints or issues with any of my orders. This 2 star is solely based on the service or lack there of. I went to eat here with 4 family members yesterday (February 27,2022) and experienced the absolute worst service I've ever had in my life. It literally took us 30 minutes to get our soda and water. I honestly can't express enough that this was the worst service I've ever had.. ever! The kitchen did a great job. Infact they did a phenomenal job!! The owners are either rich and don't care about revenue or are in the dark! Okay, so we were at my kids house to babysit last night and decided to order out dinner. We thought of Gio's and Yelp rating made us think it was a safe bet. The simple pizza was good. Crust thin, nice cheese and pepperoni. Fries were nice....they came hot and crunchy. My problem with this order was when we got to the dinners, the chicken was barely discernible under the glut of melted cheese. My husband ordered the combo and everything was edible, nothing special. The spaghetti sauce was tasteless on the pasta, not worth eating. What was that Italian bread....it was hot dog rolls with a little garlic and butter. Really you can do better. You have all that pizza dough, you can't make a decent crusty Italian bread. Next time we go back to J and G for a more reliable Italian meal. Sorry, was not impressed read more

Haven't tried their pizza but their grinders are delicious. Steak and cheese grinders are always a hit or miss and Gio's is a total hit. After quite a few times of having it we decided to try something new. Got the Alfred Hitchcock and Diner Grinder and they were...wow. They're so big they come in a pizza box so I had lunch for the next day! Even reheated they still taste amazing. Go get their grinders! read more

Bartender service is slow, they are not used to actual Bar service in a city setting only a small town, i.e. terrible, don't ask for mixed drinks, and is therefore super slow with drinks and are wrong 50% of orders. Food at best is a 7.5 and sauce is a 9.5 but help brings down to a 5, there is no management or accountability, and complaints are held by a sorry but Fuck you status, no recourse and the owner does not care. Nice local pizza joint featuring some creative specialty pies. With the closing of Frankie's of Somers, Gio's is becoming our go-to pizza place. At the time of this review, we have only ordered to-go. However, we have waited in the bar area as our selections are prepared. The bar staff is super friendly as you would want in a neighborhood bar. Their friendliness encourages me to go back just for a drink or two. The pizzas and grinders we have ordered have been top notch. The grinders are well constructed on top of super tasty grinder rolls. The pizzas are not too thin and not to thick with crisp bottoms. Toppings are fresh and ample. The sauce is rich tasting. As I have already noted, this is our new go-to pizza and grinder place. Try it out! read more

Disappointed customer. I am new to the area as of April. My wife and I were excited as we found a place that could actually make a decent pizza. Last Friday we decided to order sandwiches. I ordered a sausage sub and specifically asked for American Cheese. Simple request, right? Not so much. I got home and guess what, no cheese at all on the sandwich. I immediately called Gio's and the woman who rang me out initially answered the phone. Long story short, she promised me a call back the following day. Guess what, no call back. I called again and was told that Gio ( the owner) would not compensate me for the incorrect sandwich. Instead, I was told if I had driven back down that evening and brought back the food I could get the corrrect sandwich. Really? I am not one to leave reviews often, but this experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I even mentioned that I was planning a get together in a few weeks at my home with about 30 guests and I was planning on catering through Gio's. Having mentioned this apparently didn't have much of an impression with Gio as he never called me back... again... for the third time. I am sure we would have spent a few hundred dollars on food for the party. Is it worth losing a customer and this order for a $9.00 sandwich? Doesn't make much business sense to me. Don't buy take out here if you are planning to eat on the go or buy lunch for your employees, apparently they aren't "allowed" to give paper plates and napkins with to go orders. They either think their customers are trying to rip them off or they are incredibly cheap. They do a good job both on pizza and grinders, the Italian Stallion is my favorite grinder, I'm not going to tell you why or what it consists of to do so would undermine the experience and an experience it is. This is one of the only spots that will deliver to us and I'm not mad about it. Their service is always nice and fast and their food is really good. Their pizzas are yummy but their custom grinders are the thing to order. They may be 1000 calories each (lol) but if you can see beyond that you are going to have a one of a kind sandwich that you can eat for the rest of the week. What happened?! Every previous time I've been here the food was amazing. The meat would over flow from the specialty grinders and I'd always need to take half of it home for later. Today the grinders were ridiculously thin. When we commented on how thin they were we were told that the cook said " it's eight ounces of meat". Super disappointed. Second time ordering. First time was not very good. I was kind to my friend who recommend it and said was ok. He assured me to try his favorite dish next time. So I dialed up two orders of Italian temper and wtf it was greasy to the point that I feel sick to my stomach and I only had about 4 bites. I was put off from the olive oil that so oddly seemed heavy and greasy tasting. So I reached for the famous garlic knots that my friend said was fantastic. The knots were completely raw inside. I took a picture because everyone who had one got a cold mush of raw doe. They looked greasy but maybe if they cooked them they would taste great. I can assure you that raw garlic knots are disgusting. Lol. At that point my fiancé spits out what she thought was a raw piece of chicken in our main dish. (2 Italian temper meals) That was it. One of the few times in my life I had to pack the entire dinner back up and I called to share my concern for what looked like pink raw chicken. I was told over the phone that it was impossible. They buy there chicken from a vender that pre-cooks it and the manager "Brad" almost arrogantly tells me that they couldn't refund our money or bother to pick up the disaster of the meals and they would only refund the CCard for the raw garlic knots! Like I would waste my time to argue with some place for a dinner under 40 dollars!?!? Lol. Truthfully I completely understand that cooks can be in a rush and some fast food type Italian guys named "brad". Lol. May be in a hurry and overlook things by honest mistake. Gio's has been my grinder GoTo place for a long time. Highly recommend. Grinders: My favorite, the simple toasted roast beef grinder. One a week and I keep coming back. Really enjoy the steak and cheese. Pizza: Enjoy the pizza selection. Remember, you can buy by the slice and they generally have a nice selection and the slices are large. Menu: They have many other offerings. My son loves the GiGi fries. A heart stopping option for most adults. My daughter enjoys the occasional fish and chips (pretty standard). Been meaning to try the "Steverino", essentially the GiGi fries on a pizza. Again, need to make sure my life insurance is ironclad before attempting this pizza. Service is friendly. If you're a regular they will eventually remember your name (or try to). They do get busy! read more

I go out of my way to go here for their Pizza. After four visits I can safely say I'd make a fifth. Their are only 2 other places Pizza joints perhaps (?) better one is in Amherst the other Greenfield. I've tried a slice in at least 30 Pizzeria's in Western Ma so putting Gio's in the top three gives them good marks! My last visit the pie had been sitting (i could see that) and it wasn't nearly as good as the other visits so if I see that I won't order a slice, perhaps try a sub for a change .
