Ok so first off me and my friend go in and sit at a booth. A foreign waitress comes up to us with a very hard to understand accent. Me and my friend have one outside coming in when she asks us for our drinks as we tell her our 3rd guest is coming she snaps and rushes us to tell her what we want to drink. On her way back to give us our drinks she touches her nose on each of our glasses to smell what they are. And she still gave us the wrong drinks. DISGUSTING! read more

So I booked this Giordano's location for the rehearsal dinner before my wedding. I reserved the time and date about 2 months in advance and was told to call back about a week before to place my order for food. I did just that and they were very helpful and everything seemed to be in order. When my party arrived at the time of our reservation they claimed to have no record of our reservation and no food order. I had record in my phone that I called their location a week prior, so I honestly don't know how we got lost in the shuffle. A mistake was made which can obviously happen, but the staff never once apologized for the error. They eventually got tables together for our party of 35 people, but we were only given one waiter to take care of us. She was not the best, but I gave her a lot of credit for her effort because she was put in an entirely unfair situation. They slowly got drinks for everyone and the salads came eventually, but my husband and I had to approach them about placing our pizza order. If we had not asked the staff, who knows how much longer we would have had to wait for food. It was supposed to be a pizza "buffet", but instead the 10 pizzas we order trickled out of the kitchen and were not distributed among our tables very efficiently. Some people had to wait 30 minutes for a slice of pizza. At the end of the night we were charged $16/person for the pizza "buffet" and salads, but we only ended up ordering those 10 pizzas. Our bill totaled well over $800 when we didn't consume anywhere near that amount of food. Once again the staff never apologized for the poor service and messing up our reservation and we were not offered any type of compensation for the trouble. My mother-in-law went back to the restaurant the following Monday and was able to clear things up with the manager who was shocked to hear what had happened. The owner of the location was in the restaurant that night and basically ignored the situation. The manager refunded us $450 and that part of our experience was very helpful and appreciated. Ultimately I would made two suggestions to anyone in a similar situation: 1) DO NOT have a large party at his location, logistically they don't really have the means to make it work 2) Just pay for what your large party is going to eat, the party packages are not worth it unless each person eats a TON of pizza I hope this helps! read more

Pizza is ok nothing to write home about but the worst part is their customer service, its seem some of the people there don't want to be there, if you don't want to deal with the public then get a job that you don't have to period. It's takes forever to get your food, waitress seem she was in another planet but this has to deal with management too, if they don't care the employee are not going to care either! Had a rehearsal dinner Friday night for about 35 people, Peter and his staff were well prepared. Our waitress was excellent, she had our drink order out very quickly and then we moved on to the dinner. Everybody left full and happy. I have gotten delivery and take out here. I really enjoy their soup so when I'm not feeling that good I usually want some. The last time I ordered delivery from here they had forgotten something ( it think it was sauce - something small) I called them and the guy who answered knew it was me and had the delivery guy come back within 10 minutes and bring whatever it was. Ordered a cheese and sausage with extra cheese thin crust and got an undercooked cheese with no meat and no flavor even after I sprinkled a bunch of red pepper flakes on it. It was so disappointing I gave some to my dog and threw the rest away. This pizza is not worthy of Chicago's reputation for great pizza! Never again! Loved Giordano's before I was GF... had a wedding rehearsal dinner there this weekend and, having not been there in awhile, checked out the menu online to check out what I'd be able to eat. I settled on a salad, nothing special. When I get there, the server mentions to someone else that there is a GF pizza option! Huzzah! I order it, but it was not too great. It didn't seem like there was hardly any sauce on the pizza, but the crust must have soaked it all up because it was kinda soggy. The crispy crust edges also had a flavor reminiscent of sugar cookies, which was kinda weird. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise, and I am glad that they are catering to the GF crowd, but it wasn't my favorite. I think they are trying to do a deep-dish style crust that they are so famous for, but in execution, the thinner crusts just seem to work better for GF dough. I'm not giving up on you yet, Giordano's! But I would appreciate a revised crust recipe. :) read more

My husband and I go to this location all the time and we order the same thing every time. When we arrived we told the person who was seating us, that we had two adults and two kids but instead we got 3 adult menus and never got the kid menus. This time we ended up going around dinner time and the server we got was horrible. I had to ask her for two kid menus and all she brought was the menu and she didn't give us any crayons for them. My husband had to go up to the front to get the crayons. When she came up to our table and asked what our drinks were, I told her 3 waters and a mountain dew. I had to repeatably tell her the same thing over and over again, so my husband told her again. Then she took care of some tables and then had to came back and asked her what we wanted, so we gave her our order. She took another table's order and then after she took their order, she had to come back and point on the front of the menu saying you wanted deep dish right. She didn't really come and check on us to see how we are doing. When finally our pizza arrived, she decided to put the hot pan on the table cloth instead of putting it on the stand for the pizza. read more

last night on 20/10/17, I ordered among other things a personal size deep dish for pick up. When we left we noticed it was wasn't given. to us. We came back and employees had to look for it. By the time we got it and home it was cold and dried up. Not good. I cannot read check no. My total was $25.06 Paid with M/C ending in 4829. read more

Went and was seated by the manager/owner and waited about 15 mins before I HAD to get up and ask why I wasn't being attended to. It was just my bf and I and we made eye contact multiple times and tried to call the waitress (both at one point) and they would look away from me and walked away.... Then they seated a larger family next to us and came to ask them if they needed any drinks as soon as they were seated....and then another couple arrived and WHILE they were still being seated had the waitress ask them for their drinks and brought it to them within less than 5 mins of them sitting down. And mean while 15 mins have gone by and NOT 1 server came to ask us if we needed anything to drink or if we were ready. We literally had to get up and ask for drinks at the point we did not want to eat there. Afte those 15 mins we had to get up and get the manager, he offered us a "reserved table and drinks" but we declined because at the point we just wanted to leave due to the poor service. Never going there again and it was my first time! So sad and disappointed in their service.! Felt very discriminated since we were the only Minorities but I'm seeing from other reviews that they just have very bad employees who don't care about the customers. The waitress kept saying "sorry I didn't see you guys" which is unacceptable because we saw her make eye contact with us on 2 different occasions with 2 different waitresses....never going there again! read more

I came here at lunch time and got a mini deep dish and a pop for I think $5.95. A solid deal in my book. That little pizza filled me up and then some. It only took about 7 minutes to get it too - another plus. The pizza was great, better than the giordanos by my house. Only reason for only 4 stars is that I stood by the door at the sign that says please wait to be seated for like 5 minutes. There was no hostess. It's lunch time people and every minute counts. read more

Very disappointed - we have had larger get togethers there before but this past one was really one that will make us consider not going there again for a larger group - service was bad - what we paid for what we got was out of line. I'm not from the midwest, but went there based on reviews on Yelp. Not impressed. Got the stuffed pizza, and it was not cooked all the way through. The bottom of the pizza dough was saturated with grease and uncooked. There were some good attributes...lots of pizza filling, delivery was quick, and chopped salad was excellent. Maybe try a traditional pizza and results will be better? read more

Pizza was good (love the garlic broccoli), but wasn't hot when first brought out. Sent it back to heat up and it wasn't much better. Steer clear of the Caesar salad (sorriest excuse I've ever seen); tried 4 diff salads, Greco one was decent... If given a choice, would rather go to Lou Malnati's. read more

I arranged to have my wedding rehearsal dinner here. I made the reservation several months in advance and was told that when we arrived people would order whatever pizzas they wanted. However, when we arrived an order had already been placed for our group with some odd selections such as plain cheese deep dish, pepperoni deep dish, and lots of thin crusts - things my family would never normally order. Additionally, for our group of 30+ we had just one server. While she worked very hard, it was simply too many people to effectively get people drinks, extra silverware, or other requests in a timely manner. If you have a group event here I suggest you communicate very clearly with them. read more

HORRIBLE delivery service! This is the third time I've ordered delivery from them and all three times they were at least 20 mins late! I love their pizza, but I'm tired of having to wait around longer than I should be for a pizza. The manager was VERY rude to me each time when I called to complain about the extremely late delivery. He pretty much brushed me off. Terrible! From now on I'm going to order delivery from Lou Malnati's. They at least seem to have their act together. read more

My wife and I were recently at this Giordano's and experienced the poorest service and food quality we have ever experienced at a restaurant. Our order was simple bruschetta and lasagna with a house salad. After 60 minutes we stopped the waitress and asked about the salad to which she replied the kitchen was way behind. She immediately brought out a wilted salad with no croutons and a rotten mush tomato in it. Salad was room temperature and tomato was black mush in my mouth. Next came the lasagna that obviously had been sitting and was at room temperature (not even warm). My wife's bruschetta was served on cut bread that was not even toasted. Maybe pizza would have been a safe bet, but this was a terrible dining expererence lasting about 1 1/2 hours. read more

Decent food, poor service. Went in with a party of five - three adults, two children. We had to wait about five minutes to be seated though the restaurant was only about 75% full. After being seated for ten minutes someone finally asked if we had been helped. When we told her we hadn't it took another five minutes to return to take our order. When they brought our drinks we were informed they ran out of ice. Needless to say even the water was bad. We placed our order and I realize it takes time to bake a deep dish pizza but this one took over an hour with no explanation. Upon finishing our meal we were presented with a check containing an 18% gratuity. When we asked why, they said they do that for all the "big tables". Since when is a party of five considered a large table? I insisted they remove the charge and we'd figure it out on our own. Needless to say they received less than 18%. read more

My husband and I had 7:00 dinner reservations at the St. Charles location on Valentine's Day night. When we arrived a few minutes before 7:00, we had trouble even entering the lobby area because there were so many people waiting. We assumed most were carrying out and didn't think too much about it. We tried making our way up to the counter to check-in for our reservation, but it took us almost 25 minutes to flag anyone down. There seemed to be no designated person seating anyone or checking-in those who had reservations. There was a white haired man, the manager I believe, who was making a very obvious point to avoid the front lobby area. He seemed to be spending most of his time hiding in the kitchen or walking around the dining area. We finally flagged down a young female server after waiting over 25 minutes, and asked her to please check us in for our reservation. With tears in her eyes, she told us and the gathering crowd that there was no way they could accommodate us. When we reiterated that we had reservations, she told us that the average wait time for food after being seated was around 2 hours. She then whispered that we should probably just go somewhere else because it was going to be hours before we would be able to get a seat yet alone any food. It was beyond ridiculous. We had made reservations days in advance, and if the restaurant was overbooked- why did they continue to take reservations or seat walk-ins that night? We ended up having to go through a fast food drive-thru because at that point every restaurant within the nearby vicinity was completely booked, being that it was Valentine's Day. If I had known how overly booked they were- I definitely would have made reservations somewhere else. The manager should have at least attempted to figure out the situation instead of having his servers do his dirty work. Forget you Giordanos, I'll spend my money at Lou Malnati's from now on! read more
