I was really debating giving them a 1 star but decided that wouldn't be fair since I've ordered from here a few times. This will be the last time I EVER order from this location again. I ordered a thin crust pizza and both my roommate and I got extremely sick. Both of us were affected by it for 4 days! It was the worst stomach flu/sickness I've ever experienced. My boyfriend and I were seated in a booth that was uncomfortable to sit at because the seat was so far away from the table. We had to lean to get close enough to the table. Always weird but we made it work. It took 10 minutes for a server to greet us. She herself was nice. I don't remember her name. However she was not the best server. Being a server myself I'm a little more picky when it comes to dining in a restaurant. She brought us our drinks (they don't serve any liquor only beer and wine, strange) our salad, our pizza, and a box & the bill. That's it. Never asked us for refills or if we were enjoying or food. Never asked if we needed anything like extra napkins or dessert. She also never bussed any of our dirty dishes. I'm writing this as she just took & brought back our check and I still have dirty plates and cups in front of me. Also we have been sitting next to two dirty tables for 30 minutes. there's only 3 other tables in the restaurant. The Caesar salad was good and that's why there are two stars. The super veggie pizza was flavor less. (I'm also biased because I don't like Chicago style pizza but my boyfriend wanted to come here). We won't be back. read more

I usually do "Take Out" at this location. When I am in the mood for Chicago deep Dish I usually get it here, it is some of the best Chicago Deep Dish there is. Sometimes it tastes better than other times but they have been pretty consistent on the delicious end as of late. First off the Staff were very friendly, and the Pizza was okay, a little too cheesy for my liking My issue is that the temperature on July 4th was 83 degrees a TIP for management (OPEN THE DOORS UP it was beautiful outside ) , it was just too hot for dinning in there Which we did as others in the party were from out of town and wanted Chicago style pizza. I myself wouldn't put Giodarno's in the category as a famous Chicago pizza joint. as in my opinion doesn't come close to the others... The crust is dry and tasteless . I just don't understand why they do not allow you to order a pizza with 1/4 Toppings it has to be 1/2 order on the toppings of the pizza ... come on that means if my wife and I come in she eats a 1/4 pizza with Tomatoes and onions and sausage and I eat more than half of my sausage I have to eat her onions and tomatoes , I hate onions on a pizza. whats the big Freaking deal to charge me for the full half order but only put it on a quarter of the pizza it not brain surgery, Im 55 years old and probably have ordered well over 500 pizzas in my life and never had an issue with any other place for this request , I was appalled at their lack of Trying to give the customer what they really want . Thats just a bad business practice, I will not go back I give them two stars for their nice employees... Took my brother here when he was visiting so he could get some Chicago style pizza. Overall the food wasn't bad, but it's certainly not the best pizza joint in Chicago. They have an okay beer selection including some stuff from Goose Island, but my green line tasted a little off. I'd probably go back, but am not really in a hurry to do so. read more

Disgusting. Every time we order from this location there is always 'something.' Either its 1-2 hrs over the time they quoted or there is something wrong with the actual pizza--still semi raw, wrong toppings, etc. This recent order is absolutely the last time. The pizza tasted freezer burned (I hope that's all anyway)...it is sooooo rancid you can barely get through a slice. For you tourists/ new Chicagoans PLEASE don't let anyone tell you this is the definitive Chicago pizza or one of the best in Chicago--it is cheap, nasty, chain, drunk pizza. Just ugh!!! read more

Disappointed at best. Restaurant was 40% full and I watched three other tables walk out before their food came. Our meal came 75min after the 45 min it was supposed to take (that's right, 2hrs for thin crust pizza). On top of it, the bathrooms had clogged toilets and missing toilet paper. Took over an hour and a half to get our pizza after ordering. Server never once came over to check on us. Had to physically chase them down to get anyone's attention. Was not terribly busy and were plenty of staff working. Multiple other tables that arrived before us got their pizzas - some parties larger, some smaller. I get it that it takes some time to make the pizzas, but the neglect of the staff, coupled with an unjustifiably long wait for our pizza compared to other, similarly situated, parties, made this a not great experience. However, they provided us two free beers and an order of cheese bread to make up for the delay. The pizza, when it did finally arrive, was tasty - one extra-large was plenty for 5 people. read more

A Chicago classic and must visit when in the city. Pizza takes around 45 minutes to cook which is not desirable but not a problem for the fresh thick cheesy pizza. We started with the buffalo chicken bites that were good just a small portion size for sharing. Very filling and left us with leftovers! This is a nice Chicago pizzeria conveniently located where one "parties and dances". It can be busy so expect to wait if you have a large group. One can enjoy the thin crust pizzas but should really taste the "deep dish pizza experience" here. Never had a bad experience with the appetizers nor any of the pizzas. The staff is friendly but may not be attentive when it gets busy. Parking can be very difficult to find even in the neighboring streets. read more

The pizza is the best deep dish in the world in my opinion, but everyone knows that, so this review is about the location. I only pick up from here, as I live nearby. Every time I pick up, the order (which is usually small, for no more than 2-4 people) isn't ready. I show up 15-20 minutes after its supposed to be ready, and I'm told it'll be at least five more minutes. Once it was going to be another 30+, so I complained and the manager was very friendly and gave me a full refund when my food was ready. So awesome food, restaurant looks clean, people are friendly, but there's little excuse for being so poorly prepared on a regular basis with pickup orders. read more

AMAZING PIZZA!! The place was packed after the Cubs game on Saturday. Be prepared to wait 1 1/2 hours for a table. They do allow you to order ahead which we did, but the kitchen didn't get our order. They compensated us with an appetizer sampler which was also great!! They put a rush on our pizza and it came out piping hot!! If not willing to wait, I would suggest going on an off night/time. There's pizza, there are pies and there most certainly stuffed with cheese. But this mesh of mush of pizza is somewhat okay. Initially, the sizes had me lost for words. But after the first 20 odd bits, I got through the first half of one slice and began to enjoy it. Unfortunately cant say it was the best deep pan pizza ive tried in chi-town but certainly tasty enough. Old fashioned service with a real taste of Chicago. This place has potentials of growing on me. I ordered delivery. The woman that took my order was as charming and warm as a reptile. She told me that the delivery time would be 60-90 minutes. I hesitated about it but agreed. Five minutes later, not wanting to wait for NINETY MINUTES to have dinner, I called to cancel. She answered again and handed me off to someone else (the manager?) when I stated that I wanted to cancel. He was equally charming telling me that my pizza was in the oven and would be out in 15 minutes. I asked him how they could wait to deliver it for an hour. He said that I agreed to the delivery time when I placed my order. Now, I ask you...how can they take 15 minutes to make a stuffed pizza and take an hour to deliver it? Should I be more irritated that they refused to cancel my order? Or that my pizza is going to be sitting in someone's car for an hour? OR...that the manager lied to me and refused to cancel my order. On the one hand, I *did* agree. On the other hand, I'm utterly tired of customer service people hiding behind "the rules" as an excuse for providing bad customer service. I have a hard time believing that my pizza was already in the oven. Not happy and will stick to supporting the neighborhood joints rather than the big chain that doesn't care how many customers they tick off. read more

Yes I love pizza. Giordano's is my favorite place for deep dish pizza. Out of all of the Chicago locations, this particular location happens to be my favorite. The pizza lives up to the high standard's that Giordano's holds. The service here is always very good. The big plus to this location is that I have never had to wait for a table. Coming to Chicago for my birthday and it being my boyfriends first time in the city, we wanted to try deep dish pizza. We took to facebook and yelp for recommendations on Lou Malnati's or Giordanos. Most of our friends said Giordanos, but a lot of locals said Lou's, pequods, Ginos east, or Unos. We tried Lou's first, and the Giordanos the next day. We both liked Lou's a lot better, it just seemed like they used much fresher ingredients, better ratios of sauce, crust, cheese, the ambiance, and overall taste was a lot better to us. I would eat again, but i would definitely choose another place for deep dish if i had the choice. Both places we ordered the pizza with cheese, sauce, and sausage. The sausage was better also at Lou's. The pizza takes about 45 minutes to come out which seemed pretty log to us. We also got seated at the bar even though there was a lot of tables open because she said "theres only 2 waiters on the floor so it'll be longer to order". Giordano's definitely has the better cheese pull for instagram pics haha, but it doesn't taste as good as it may look! read more

Crappiest experience I've had in years. Went there with a friend before seeing a show nearby (FYI: Significant Other @Theatre Wit...highly recommended). We told the waiter we had about 45 mins to order/eat. He said: no problem just don't order pizzas. So we didn't. We asked 2-3 times where the food was and he said: just a couple mins. The food never came. Eventually we walked out. I talked to the mgr on the way out. He was aware of the situation. He apologized and asked if we could wait a few more mins and take it to go. A poor solution. It's a poorly run place from the waitstaff/kitchen/mgmt. Won't be going there again. I'd give it no stars if I could. read more
