Calabrian Sweet & Spicy Chicken Sausage Pizza

This is a solid spot for deep dish pizza! I went for the first time last week with my brother, who was visiting from out of town. He wanted to get deep dish during his time in Chicago and had wanted to try Giordano's. We both enjoyed our meal. I was not aware of how large Giordano's menu was! The options are nice in case you aren't in the mood for deep dish - you'll definitely find something else to enjoy! We split multiple appetizers and each got our own personal deep dish. It was a delicious meal! Our server was attentive, as well. I am very happy I tried a spot that I haven't gone to before in the neighborhood.

Very disappointed in the food. Not sure why this chain is so hype up. I feel fast food pizza chain is way better. All the food were underwhelming and taste like cafeteria food. Would not recommend.

We celebrated our 30th birthday here! Taylor our server was amazing and made it a birthday to remember (a birthday card, drink and icecream). My favorite Taylor was Taylor swift but the Taylor at Giordanos on Belmont is now my favorite!!!! We LOVE Taylor at Giordanos. Thank you Taylor

Stopped in to try deep dish pizza. Told it would take 45 minutes to bake so we got the sampler appetizer. We got the Chicago classic pizza. Loved the freshness of the vegetables in it. We were able to walk in and be seated right away. Restaurant had a decent amount of seating. Our server was nice just wish she came by a little more throughout our meal to offer us refills or another drink.

We wanted a deep dish pizza. We spent the last seven years in California and I know California is not known for deep dish pizza, but Zachary's was pretty freakin' extraordinary. I am confident there are better options, but Giordano's was within walking distance from the hotel, so that's where we went. The Caesar Salad was tasty and fresh. For the pizza, we ordered a Make-Your-Own. In an attempt to recreate the pizza we love at Zachary's, we ordered a deep dish pizza with spinach and mushrooms. It looked beautiful. It tasted okay, but the overwhelming flavor was of the cheese. The pizza was very cheese heavy. You'd think a pizza with lots of cheese would be the bees knees. The problem was the chunky tomato topping, a very important part of a deep dish pizza, had very little flavor. It was disappointing. Convenient? Yes. Delicious? Not delicious enough.

I couldn't pass up trying out a local chain with famous deep dish pizza. The deep dish was cheesy, saucy, and filling, but there was something missing as it did not stand out in its flavor. The taste reminded me more of a standard pizza from other chains, but in Chicago deep dish form. Still, it was good with plenty leftover. The fried calamari and lemon rings starter was excellent. It paired so well with the marinara sauce, it's recommended. Good service. Expect about 45 minutes for the deep dish pizza to be ready. It's better to come after major plans due to the wait. Overall, it's a fair place and worth a try if visiting.

I'm in town visiting an old friend . He lives right around the corner. We arrived late evening, so he got this to go and kept it warm in his oven. I'm a visitor, not a tourist. I hear they call this the tourist pizza. It was delicious and exactly as I remember it from several years ago. Best served with a friend and a cold beer!

Not bad, but doesn't stand out. Yes, I know I'm reviewing a chain - so to some extent it's not going to be anything out of this world. Giordano's gets the job done - no more, no less. It's definitely a good amount of food for your money, no one will argue that. But it doesn't leave you with that "wow" factor. It's just a deep dish pizza, with lots of sauce and cheese. With that said, I haven't tried the thin crust here and have heard that it's solid. So I'll probably return. If you need to choose a deep dish spot in Chicago and want something with some personality, hit up Lou's instead.

Dip Dish Chicago style pizza

First time visiting Chicago and its famous Dip Dish pizza. The Lakeview location is super cool, the restaurant very clean, the manager Luis super friendly, and he would come over to ask if everything was okay, including refills on our drinks.

Up until tonight, my experiences had always been positive and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, this visit was more than disappointing. I ordered a salad I've had at least a dozen times before, accept I added grilled chicken on top. I live for this salad and was just there maybe three weeks ago. Unaware that they have changed their menu, I ordered as usual. The name of the salad has not changed on the menu, but apparently the ingredients had been completely altered. When the dish arrived, to my surprise, it was drastically different and not something I enjoyed at all. I politely informed our server, who was kind and accommodating, and offered to replace the dish. However, it was now 6 p.m. we had tickets to see The Wiz at 7 p.m. and didn't have time to wait for another order, which I also informed her. I asked if the salad could be removed from the bill since it was essentially untouched. The server checked with the owner, who refused to remove the $30 salad or offer any kind of discount. When a restaurant changes a dish but keeps the same name, it creates a reasonable expectation for returning customers. When that expectation isn't met, basic customer service should step in. What makes this even more frustrating is that the restaurant was willing to prepare an entirely new dish, but not willing to remove the uneaten one from the bill. That simply isn't logical. If you're prepared to replace an item, it clearly acknowledges there was an issue, so refusing to comp or adjust the original charge is unreasonable. That decision was extremely disappointing. I, in-turn made the decision to eat only the additional grilled chicken on top, leaving the rest of the salad, paying the full bill and promptly getting out of there so we could be on time for our show. The only positive part of the experience was our server, who handled the situation with professionalism and kindness. Sadly, the new menu leaves much to be desired and this experience has cost Peanut Park my business and my referrals going forward.

Reservations are released 21 days ahead of time, which I personally find impossible to make. Every time I've checked over the last several years there have been no availability. Yesterday I decided to pop on their website again and was delighted to find that they had released same day dinner reservations for patio only dining. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining so I went ahead and booked a table for Friday night. I felt like I won the dinner lottery. Service was wonderful and I didn't mind sitting outside at all next to the road with cars. I actually never stepped foot in the restaurant so cannot comment on what it's like inside. But do not give up that patio dining reservation if it's available. All of our dishes were delicious. I was really impressed by the meatball appetizers, chicken vesuvio (the potatoes are a must get as a side if you skip this dish), and branzino. The meats and sauces were wonderfully balanced and tender. Nothing tasted overly salted. Ironically, the pasta felt less of a star compared to the other dishes. And of course I had to get the gelato, which was so aesthetically presented and the taste just reminded me of an Italian summer vacation.

The inside of the restaurant felt like a classic Italian restaurant you might find in Italy. Our waiter was super nice and gave some great wine recommendations. First, they bring you some bread and give you a small platter mixed with olive oil, fresh garlic, and Parmesan. This is the first time I've seen it done this way but it was delicious. The calamari was delicious, not too fried and oily but still had so much flavor to it. We also decided to order the peperoni pizza, which is just a magnificent pizza. It was just cooked perfectly with just the right amount of flavor and spice. I ordered the raviolacci toscani, which took a bit of time to come out (but understandable given the amount of people). It was just delicious. The meat filling had such a deep flavor and the sauce wasn't so heavy that I didn't want to finish it. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a good Italian meal with great portions. Reservations might be hard to get so plan ahead.
