Very sad because I literally grew up with this restaurant since a kid but lately they have become racially biased. I had placed an order on the phone for a pickup- 2 slices and a pasta primavera. All went well until I got into the restaurant. 1. I wasn't greeted at the door- I actually had to initiate the interaction. 2. As I was telling the guy with the register that I had an order for pick up, the manager of the establishment tried to hand off another order for somebody that wasn't even there. But he did acknowledge and proceed with the proper order. 3. Whoever the other customer was, was making micro aggressive remarks such as "I wouldn't trust it." As I proceeded to pay in cash. Although this man doesn't count, for me it created a semi-noxious atmosphere. Otherwise the food was great and the man at the register was very kind and helpful. Mind you ran almost a $50 tab- and left a tip . *bombastic side eye* Bottom Line: If my money isn't good enough for your establishment or if you REALLY don't trust my funds, then just be up front about it instead of being a closeted bigot. . read more

Had lunch on Wednesday with my niece and her three children. I really wasn't expecting much when she suggested a pizza lunch Boy, was I wrong. First Gino's was clean, comfortable and cool on a hot June day. But it was the delicious pizza that made my day. Perfectly made with an excellent balance of crust, cheese, sauce, spice and toppings. In addition, we tried a stuffed garlic knot and I was glad we did! Never saw this before. It was stuffed with tasty chicken parmigiana. Amazing! One of the kids ordered tortellini soup which she totally enjoyed. It smelled delicious. She couldn''t finish the entire big bowl , but insisted on taking home the leftovers because she loved it so much. Who knew an. 8 year old would rather have soup than pizza ? Pizza is one of my favorite foods and I've been to hundreds of spots throughout my Pizza life. I am extremely picky about my pies I have to say that Gino's is among the best. When you want your Pizza to be fantastic, this Gino's is your best choice in the area. Where should I begin? With their perfectly crisp crust topped with real mozzarella cheese atop their wonderfully balanced sauce. The sauce is everything and never too sweet here. Want toppings? I usually choose the freshly sliced Italian link sausages. Oh boy, Gino's really piles it on. Gino's delivery is fast, courteous and covid correct. I always generously tip the hard working delivery person. Delivery arrives quickly. I like adding the tiramisu for the perfectly ending dessert. You can never go wrong with any of the franchise locations of Gino's. This place is a staple on Long Island. I've been to the Uniondale, Elmont and West Hempstead location's and the Pizza is solid at every location. I usually order a Margherita slice and my daughter always wants Pepperoni. The pizza is always fresh and very good. I have had no complaints. The Garlic Knots here are very good. Nice chunks of fresh garlic grated right on top. Not over cooked or hard as a rock. Can only speak about pizza that we picked up for a Saturday picnic. Regular and pepperoni pies were meh at best. Too dry, very little sauce. Bland, didn't taste anything, not even the saltiness of the melted cheese. Very oily (like most sub-par pizzas). The most decent part was the crust, which was crispy but also doughy. Surprisingly, upon heating up the leftovers the second day, the crust held up well and I at least used it as a bread substitute for my meal. You can definitely get better pizza somewhere else. read more

As a West Hempstead lifer, I have grown up on Gino's Pizza and with the guys there. Dominic and Franco are beyond generous and always support the school organizations. You name it, up and down hempstead Tpke, Jericho tpke, etc. GINOS OF WH is better or just as good as any spot in Nassau, and probably Suffolk. Franco and Dom are genuine customer-caring owners, and I mean, the food speaks for itself. You want the best chicken Caesar salad or Caesar salad, order from here. You want superb and excellent quality chicken parm or chicken francese...this is YOUR SPOT. The Pizza in all its varieties is outstanding as well. I needed some things from the store and went to Western Beef. Then it happened......fate! Walking out to the large shared parking lot I saw it, "Gino's Pizza." I was hungry (Of course) so I figured why not! Walking in you fall in love with the reds and grey inside. The seating was interesting as well and the restaurant was spacious. I loved the vibe they had going on inside. Heading over to the counter with a coworker, we had the privilege of being helped by a friendly hard working staff. They asked how can they help and even joked with us while we waited. I was definitely pleased with the service. We placed our order and then we got it quick. The rice balls in my opinion should not have been eaten, they should have been worshiped! They were amazingly delicious. Also I decided to go simple and get a pepperoni slice, yes, yes, I know, why didn't you get a specialty Evan? Well I can tell you I wanted to change things up a bit. I'm glad I did. The slice was delicious! I enjoyed it a lot. I figured if a regular is so good, I can't wait to try the specialty next time. All things considered, it's worth a second visit. I really enjoyed myself. I have been ordering pizza from here for about 2 years now. Last night I decided to get a shrimp parm hero and a rice ball. What a mistake that was. I am guessing that they do not sell much shrimp or rice balls as to put it bluntly, weren't fresh. Half the ball and half the hero went in the garbage. I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and have always enjoyed there pizza. On this recent visit I ordered the Chicken Scapariello and Rigatoni Alla Vodka with chicken. Both orders were a decent size with nice amount of product. I would have liked some more sausage in the Scapariello. The main issue is that both dishes had an excessive amount of oil and grease. My stomach couldn't handle the grease after awhile and I could not finish dish. There was so much oil that It over took any real flavor. I had put it in the fridge for the next day. When I pulled it out the next day for lunch, the oil has hardened and thickened and solidified completely. A clear indication of too much oil. I ended up throwing out the rest of dish. The reason for my post is more constructive. Ease up on the oils and add more garlic and basil. read more
