I walked by this restaurant many times and I decided to give it a try. The place has a casual atmosphere. Nice bar and dining room. The restaurant serves pizza and Italian cuisine. The service was excellent. The night we were there they had a singer singing old school Sinatra and Dean Martin classics. The food was bland. I ordered the Italian style wings and they were dry and had no taste. My gal pal ordered the stuff mushrooms. They were average. Stuff with breadcrumbs. Then we decided to order a large pizza. We topped it with garlic, onion, sausage and mushrooms. The crust was nice and thin. The center of the pizza was soft. I asked for red peppers flakes and salt. Very bland food. The place was hopping but I think the place was hopping for the singer and not the food. It was an older crowd maybe it was also a low sodium crowd. The staff were excellent. read more

While feeling defeated after no Italian restaurants were open around 2PM for lunch. My cousin and I decided on Nick's pizza not expecting it to be so great! What seemed like a regular pizza spot was a very nice restaurant with a great size bar. We were immediately greeted and sat. We got a bottle of Riesling which was reasonable. The bread was divine!! We then had Mozzarella and tomato as an appetizer that was okay. For dinner we got a family size Gnocchi with shrimp that was really good and enough for a large family, but again for a great price for the size of the food. read more

It is sometimes embarrassing to say that you've known about a place for a long time and never found the opportunity to try it out. Unfortunately, this is the case for me with Nick's pizza. when I first moved to Rockville Center, a Neighbor recommended Nicks to me and Recently, a friend had mentioned that his wife absolutely loved the pizza and I suggested that the three of us get together finally so I could see what everyone raves about. First of all I want to comment the staff absolutely beautiful, lovely efficient, friendly, funny, accommodating, every single possible thing you could say about, someone in a positive manner here. The menu of course, has pizza options,red, or white, in addition to that, appetizers, entrées, selection of wine by the bottle or glass. I did notice that there was a small bar on the other side of the dining area. We ordered a red pie half sausage and peppers and half like margarita style and we also ordered a white pie which is the arugula prosciutto which is my absolute all-time fave. because it's my all time I wound up having two or three slices of that and never had the opportunity to try the red pie, so you know that I am determined to return so I can expand my selection of their delicious pizza. read more

Wowww, I can't believe the interaction I had with staff/OWNER at this restaurant. We came here for a celebration, and I was quickly disgusted with the way the staff treated patrons. First they tried to seat our group at a table that was too small and said that they will swap us once this other table left. That was fine. We could wait the extra five minutes to be comfortably seated. The problem arose when one of the servers started setting up the table we were currently seated at. Trying to be nice and assist the server so they didn't waste their time as it was very busy, I informed them that there was a possible swap of tables happening since we did not fit our current table. Out of nowhere this guy starts to berate me in front of everyone asking me if I worked there... saying there was no way they were "swapping" us as the other server had stated and continued haphazardly throwing drinking glasses at us like we were some form of peasant and not paying customers. He then continued and said "if you did work here, you'd be fired in a day" ???? First of all, no one here is looking to work for someone with no self respect or common human decency. Not interested in making whatever slimeball of a deal you have with your employees, seeing as you lack any sense of respect. I probably make more than your entire waitstaff combined. Second, you need to check your attitude at the door. I don't care if you own the establishment. What business do you have running a place that is there primarily there to serve the community. You lack all sense of rationality and the clear disregard to societal norms made my experience probably one of the worst I've ever had. LASTLY IF YOU'RE TOO PROUD TO SERVE CUSTOMERS CORRECTLY MAYBE YOU SHOULD STAY IN THE BACK ROOM BEFORE YOUR BUSINESS SHUTS ITS DOORS BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR MOUTH. read more

Here's the problem with Nick's..... the prices are too low. And this makes the place too crowded. I took a date here early on Saturday. The service was perfect, food incredible, and the check was not bad on the wallet. This was a spot on the Food Done It? Tour. Everything was delicious! From the bread when we sat down, to the salad, to the pizza at the end. Everything was full of flavor! The bread at the start of the meal was seasoned well, and paired very nicely with the seasoned oil for dipping. I would have been satisfied with just having that as my meal. Nick's house salad isn't your typical house salad. It had sundried tomatoes, peppers and a spring mix for greens. It was tossed in a slightly sweet, but not overpowering dressing. It was nice and refreshing. Now the pizza.... What a delicious margarita pizza. Flavors were fresh and yummy. It was however slightly underdone, but that didn't take away from the flavors. Nick doesn't like to pay his employees even when the courts say that he should be paying them. He owes hundreds of thousands of dollars in back debt because he just wouldn't pay his employees a fair price and paid them on salary and then overworked them which is in violation of New York state laws. Nick needs to pay his bills because while he's making money off of the sweat of the employees that are in his place, he doesn't want to pay them fairly. read more

Wow. New spot I love! The pizza was amazing!! I love thin crust pizzas that come out fresh. We got half plain with basil and Half pepperoni. Really delicious. The bread they give to start is also great with the oil but I wish the bread was warm. We also had pasta with red sauce, wish It had a little more flavor. Such a great spot in RVC! We recently moved into town and are enjoying exploring all the wonderful eating spots it has to offer. For my hubbies bday we decided to hop into Nicks and give it a go with my parents. We're all about family style, so it was the perfect thing. We started with fried calamari and baked clams. The fried calamari could have been a bit more flavorful, but overall were well cooked and not chewy. Baked clams were one of the better ones I have had, so very pleased with them. For dinner we split chicken parm, broccoli rabe and spaghetti and meatballs. All were cooked very well, had lots of flavor and were eaten up quickly by everyone in my family. There was even enough for me to take for leftovers the next day for lunch which is perfect. For dessert we had cheesecake and a brownie sundae which were also quite yummy. My mom also had an irish coffee which sure did have a lot of whiskey which made her happy :) As for the wine, we split a carafe which was perfect and at a great price! The best house salad and dressing ever! I don't normally put dressing on my salads but this place is an exception. I love whatever the dressing is made of and I could eat it every single day. Their pizza is also really delicious. It's the perfect Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. Even the littlest things like their homemade bread is a must try. The only thing about this place is there's no slices, only pies which is a good and bad thing because you get a whole pie of goodness but if you want just a small piece, you can't but that's ok, you would want the whole pie after a bite! After the typical back and forth " what do you want " "whatever you want" dialogue we decided on nicks since we have never been ! Thursday night about 730 walked in as I used rest room my family was seated and by the time I got to table (not long lol) they had water bottle and bread for the table with dipping oil (onion type focaccia ) Deelish! One of the servers maybe a principle not sure told us specials which sounded good but we just wanted simple pizza ! Ordered two small pizzas for four of us one with meatball and one with sausage ! While waiting we were treated to on the house appetizer of eggplant parm . Super fresh and soo good and super nice gesture ! Pizzas arrived cooked prefect with ample toppings on both . Real crumbled meatball and sausage . The crust was light and crisp and the sauce super tasty . We polished off both except one of each slices . As we were leaving my kids (young adults ) said. Nicks pizza is consistently good! My family and I walked in over the weekend knowing we were having a House Salad and baked clams. Both sooo good! The dressing on the salad is unreal. I got grilled chicken 'in the oven' with eggplant. 3 large pieces of chicken with eggplant on time and mozzarella. The sauce is light and really delicious. The chicken Godzilla is also really good. Chicken cutlet with bruschetta. The cannolis are a MUST. The cream is whipped so it's a little different, but it's really delicious. Love this place. The service was a little off this time and that is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. But I definitely suggest it! read more

Be prepared to either shout, or wear noise-cancelling ear buds because Nick's is one LOUD restaurant , but the food makes the noise level worthwhile.You can get single or family portions and both are definitely filling, rich, flavorful (among other choices, we started with a pizza, of course, that had the freshest basil on top. SO good!), and presented fairly quickly by a fast-moving wait staff (it's crowded in here: one reason for how loud it is!). Nick's has modern decor and design, with high ceilings with exposed ductwork, slatted "fencing" that separates the entryway with the main restaurant, a full bar with large-screen TVs, framed illustrations on the walls, and it is fairly narrow (another reason why it is kinda crowded). It has a bit of a Manhattan restaurant vibe. Bring your appetite, and think about those earplugs. read more

I like this place. Went there for the first time and enjoyed the food. The entree portions are huge, although everything seems to be ala carte, which sucks. You are probably best off picking a couple of side dishes to share since the side dishes are priced and sized for two. I didnt give Nicks five stars because of their desserts. One of the people I was with wanted tartufo, which was on the menu. No tartufo. Ok, how about chocolate ice cream? The waiter comes back- no chocolate ice cream! I honestly can say I never heard of Nick's until my friends suggested it tonight. Upon entering I noticed it was very clean and had a great overall ambiance. We sat down for dinner and we were greeted by our waiter who provided us with some delicious bread with olive oil. We started off with some fried calamari which was absolutely delicious. The calamari wasnt typical, it was very light and tasty. It wasnt greasy or overly fried at all. The service was fast and friendly. I was very impressed with the portion sizes as my wife and I shared the family style chicken in the oven. I highly recommend this dish. Be aware, none of the chicken entrees come with pasta, that is extra. Given the huge portion sizes, I dont think you even need the pasta. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. read more
