After an adventure on the LIRR, I decided to stop into Olivetto Pizza, and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the chicken, bacon, and ranch slice, and it hit the spot on a perfectly crispy, great flavor, and generous toppings without being too heavy. The quality of care was pleasantly nice. The staff was super friendly from the moment I walked in. Even though they were busy, they were patient, welcoming, and quick with the service. The place itself is also impressively clean, the tables, counters, even the floor looked well taken care of, which I really appreciate in a pizza spot. All in all, a great stop after an adventure. My boyfriend and I love coming here when we're craving Italian food. The penne a la vodka is pretty good. The fried calamari is delicious. The chicken franchese is really good. The chicken parm is good. The shrimp scampi was amazing. But there was a pasta dish with mixed vegetable that was not so good. I have ordered a calzone on several occasions,, each and every time its burned to crisp and old. The pizza the crust is too thick as well. I recently made Olivetto's my go to pizzeria ordering from them weekly and my wife and kids were eating there for pasta night while I worked. My most recent experience with them however was just frustrating and them hanging up the phone on me for their mistaken miscommunication was so aggravating, I'm going out of my way to write a review on Yelp. Long story short, I ordered on Slice at 9:16PM a $46 order. At 9:28PM I got a message saying order is delayed and they will update soon. At 9:31PM I got a message that the restaurant was closed and the order was canceled (My money was still gone, but that's not Olivetto's fault). I called at 9:40PM and they told me that my order has actually been sent out and that Slice was wrong. We even discussed the details of the order and I was told my order will be there soon. I said great, cause I was willing to go pick it up if not. Needless to say, 9:55PM rolls by, no delivery and I know they close at 10PM so I call again feeling bad about bothering them. First I get told that it is still on the way, then they hand me off to someone else who gets on the phone only to tell me that they had told Slice that my food wasn't coming, then say that they thought it was a part of 7 orders the driver left with but it wasn't. Confused, I simply asked "So then I'm just not getting any food?" and whoever it was, just shut the phone down. Flat out hung it up. I understand things get busy and I understand it was close to the end of the night, but the whole problem started with your (Olivetto's) miscommunication and how it was handled is deserving of a 1-star review across all platforms. This is a town of great pizzerias with great customer service and, to me, you are no longer one of them. read more

Came here with a group of about 20 people for a price fixed 3 course lunch. I'm not sure how much it cost because someone else picked up the tab. The food was very good though. You had a choice of limited items. I started with a house salad that was flavorful but definitely on the small side. Then came the rigatoni marinara which was accompanied with garlic knots and focaccia bread that was excellent. The sauce was made right by someone who has probably been doing it for many years. Also ordered the chicken marsala as my main course and was very happy with it. I will say though, the waitress and staff made the dining experience very enjoyable. Everyone was very attentive and super pleasant. I certainly wouldn't mind going back to try a few other menu items. read more

I went for a dinner on a Tuesday evening hardly no one was in the restaurant. I ordered a Lasagna and my husband ordered Eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was horrible and looked like it was just lying there ... dried out not appealing terrible. We should have complained but regretted not complaining when we got home. The waiter was nice enough but he should have not served us that ... i gave him 20%. Who should be responsible for this? I think the owner should give me a credit of $12 for the eggplant parm sandwich! You don't serve paying customers that crap! I still have it saved in my refrigerator that is the half we took home. You don't need ambiance when the food is that bad. Also the Lasagna wasn't that fresh either probably was frozen and reheated! Been going here for years. Never a problem. Tonight get 2 heroes to go, 1 a shrimp parm. Get home the shrimp parm literally had cleaning fluid mixed in. Probably spilt. The party eating it spits it out. I smell it can't smell. Take a bite and it's disgusting. Call up restaurant tell them at first I say just make another one. It's late she's hungry. While driving there she texts and said forget the other sandwich. I get to restaurant and tell them. He says we can't refund on card. Never heard that before. Then he says credit for next time I said ok. He says 25 good I said absolutely not. You put poisin in the food. Was passing by and decided to stop in, as per the reviews. Tale of the tape: Garlic Knots When I first saw them, I was intrigued... The outer shell has a soft, almost flaky crisp, reminiscent of a crescent roll, with a decent garlic flavor. However under this cover is a heavy, doughy denseness that belies its outer shell. My disappointment was palpable as I consumed the outer part of the knots with gusto, leaving the inexplicably doughy insides. I will bake them up to see if they metamorphose into something resembling the outside's texture. If the inside had matched the outside, these knots would easily had been in my Garlic Knot Top Ten. Penne alla Vodka slice The ratio of sauce to pasta to cheese is just right, and the vodka sauce itself is good. It's not very good, or even great, but it does merit a good rating. The crust, however... the crust is where it shines. Thin and crispy with a lightness that stands in marked contrast to the innate heaviness of the pasta and sauce. One of the best crusts out there, no question! The combination of it all made for an enjoyable taste experience. This is a great local pizzeria spot that I feel is highly underrated. They offer a wide array of pizza, and Italian dishes for very fair prices. I love their traditional pie. There is always a great cheese to sauce ratio, and the crust is cooked to perfection every time I have it. I also like the fact that the crust is not extremely thick like other places. I have only ordered take-out, but I do look forward to sitting in their restaurant section soon, one night for dinner. Customer service is always great, and my order is always completed quickly. So this Pizzaria is in a strip mall (Franklin Plaza). Which basically means that it doesn't have to be good because people will grab a quick bite to eat while shopping and running errands. It's also a place where your less-discerning locals - of which there are apparently many - will get pizza delivered from on the weekends. Their regular slices are okay at best (better than frozen pizza I guess). But their specialty slices are exceptionally bad. For example; their buffalo chicken slices are prepared with blue cheese dripped across the slices - weather you want blue cheese or not. Their "salad" slices are always soggy and stale-tasting. I ordered a specialty slice with spinach, onions and mushrooms. Sounds simple enough right? Not at Olivetto's. Instead of getting the onions chopped up, they were draped in big circles over the slice(s). And the mushrooms weren't the small squishy mushrooms that I've had on slices of pizza in New York since I started having specialty slices, but raw mushrooms you'd have in a salad. When I showed them the slices and told them what the problem was - they had zero idea what I was talking about and there was zero recognition of any problem. In short, go to Gallery Pizza just down the road, or Carmela's also in the area. Don't waste your money. read more

I don't know how, but this Pizzeria/restaurant has become our go to spot. The pizza is solid, but the food is better than one might expect. Their Penne a la Vodka sauce is like no other. It's a more cream based sauce that's just absolutely addicting. We have ordered it for dinner and even catered events and everyone has loved it. For about $17 you get a salad or side of pasta, a bread bowl for the table and a extensive choice of chicken entree and dessert plus coffee or tea. I went with "Chicken Matteo" (oddly the name of another wonderful Italian restaurant). Grilled chicken with grilled Eggplant, Grilled Zucchini a Little Cheese and Tomato Sauce. Tasty.
