This Chinese restaurant is located in a strip mall in Walpole center. There is a lot of parking, and it's a safe area. I've been here before when it was owned by the previous owners, but now it's under new management. It's a small restaurant within a sushi bar and a regular bar for alcohol. The server was very nice and attentive, and the food came out in a reasonable time. We ordered, pork fried rice, lobster sauce and a pupu platter for 1. The rice was good flavorful and fried like I like it. The appetizers were good and fresh and the lobsters sauce tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the vegetables in the lobster sauce. If you are in this area, check them out you cannot be disappointed. read more

Lovely experience x 2 weeks in a row. I've seen a few lackluster reviews and I don't understand why. The owners & staff are friendly. Our waiter was the same both times and was attentive & gracious. Their sushi chef is creative & has a great smile. The pan fried Peking ravioli were AMAZING. My husband is a chef & really enjoyed the crab rangoon! So flavorful! The lo mein could've used just a hint more flavor like sesame oil, but overall was very good & enjoyable. The spicy tuna maki was great, as was the crazy maki & California roll. The Spicy Tuna Tempura maki was a creative treat! The lychee martinis AND Mai Tais were FANTASTIC! The inside was modest & cozy - don't let that make you question it. Updating my review to continue supporting this local business! I've placed numerous pickup orders recently. And I found that placing the order via phone is slightly cheaper than ordering online. Also, I'm not sure why Uber Eats doesn't offer it's lunch special menu options. The lunch special is such a great deal! Your entree is served with rice, soup, and an appetizer. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the appetizer is normally crab Rangoon. On Tuesdays, it's normally the sweet and sour chicken. I like they open early at 11 AM. Normally you wait for about 20 minutes for pickup orders. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall. The staff members are always so kind and nice! Sometimes there is coupon they send in the mail, so be on the lookout for that as well!! read more

My SO swears we've been to this place before but I'm drawing a blank, must be my pre-yelp check in days haha. We came here with a friend visiting who was staying in Walpole. The farther away from Boston or Providence we wander the more we have to adjust our expectations too. We were seated promptly at a booth on a Saturday night at 8pm, and neither the hibachi nor regular restaurant area looked busy. One of the strangest things was the way the tables and booths were set up... They pushed together 2 very narrow ll-fitting tables i as you can see from my photo between the booths so you have to lean forward to eat over the table. They could have pushed the booths closer together or find a more suitable table. The service was good and we received our orders promptly. My SO and I both ordered separate Bento boxes (shrimp tempura and pork katsu), which in my opinion were a bit overpriced at $18 a piece. I had a favorite restaurant in Western Massachusetts that were about $5 cheaper for the same size box and portion of food. My friend ordered the signature Walpole Maki roll and an Unagi Rice Bowl. We shared the maki roll and that was probably my favorite. My bento box... disappointing just about sums it up. I had a difficult time actually finishing the pork katsu since the meat was so tough and dry! read more

They forgot my ginger dressing (I cannot use soy sauce), and when I called to inquire, she rudely told me I had ordered ginger sauce not dressing (not true - I don't even know what ginger sauce is) & then when I said fine I'll come pick it up (mind you a 20 minute drive), she goes "well you have to pay for it." To which I said how much & she told me $1... after we ordered over $110 in sushi & they messed up... last order ever from this establishment. Went to Takara down the street in Medfield to get ginger dressing & they kindly gave me a container without charging me!! (We did not even order from them). TAKARA will now be my go to. read more

The food here was excellent. We had been once before years ago and can't really remember why we hadn't been back. We had the food delivered and it was hot when it arrived and was in less time than they said which is great. The delivery person was very polite. The food was fresh and delicious. This is our new spot for sushi and Chinese food. The general gau's chicken was the best we have had anywhere. The fried rice, dumplings, beef teriyaki, hot and sour soup were all excellent. Pre-covid, we were regulars at Ginjo. When were finally comfortable with ordering take out, this was our first stop. They did a bustling take out business pre-covid which has fortunately kept them alive. And the reason it bustles is the quality of the food. We order everything from spicy sushi to chinese and japanese dishes. Regardless of what we order its fresh and delicious. Two of my favorites are the Basil and Chicken rice and their Chicken with Broccoli in light white sauce. Their chicken wings are different than most and also a favorite. They have a light crunchy coating and are also huge. I bring these to parties and people scarf them up. My wife loves the Naruto sushi appetizer because it's wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. This past Christmas was the first time where we ordered take out and it was from Ginjo. Ginjo has been 100% consistent with their quality and portion size, which sadly has not been the case with other restaurants where we ordered takeout. I understand its a very tricky business to manage even pre-covid and that its even harder now trying to manage food inventory with an unknown demand. Some favorite places are now permanently closed. Sad. Ginjo is fortunately doing it right. And you can see that when you pick up your order and look around. There's always dozens and dozens of takeout bags just waiting to be picked up. read more

Plus the prices are outrageous and doesnt add up to the quality you receive. Its ok, nothing to make this memorable and not sure why all the high reviews. The restaurant we usually order from is closed on Mondays, so we ordered from here for the first time tonight. It was some of best Japanese/Chinese food I've had in the area! We had the sashimi platter with salad and miso soup (very fresh fish and well priced), beef lo mein (super tender pieces of beef), crab rangoon (flavorful and crispy), and Peking ravioli (packed with delicious meat, and the dough wasn't too thick). According to the receipt, this place was either formerly known as Blue Orchid, or is another restaurant in the Blue Orchid business. We visited Ginjo (pronounced with a hard "G" and a soft "j") on the late afternoon of Marathon Monday in 2012, which was also when the salmonella-related recall of hamachi scrape (yellowtail tuna meat, scraped from the bones, and used in spicy tuna roll) had just happened. I knew I would have to get back on the sushi-eating horse, and Ginjo was the place we chose to reintroduce raw fish into our diet. I am glad we did. We did not eat anything containing spicy tuna. The sushi was delicious, but slow to arrive. I was curious as to why the place was so empty, especially since there was a Groupon special going on. I hope they've had more customers, since this place is worth a visit. read more

In the past I've gotten takeout from Ginjo 4-5 times and it's been generally good to very good. Last night I ordered hot and sour soup, seafood tempura, mongolian beef and double-cooked pork. Everything was bland and tasteless, and the soup had almost nothing solid in it, more of a bouillon than actual soup. Really disappointing, expected better of this place. Maybe it's under new ownership or the main chef was out last night. I hope it's a temporary thing because it's a convenient place to go and has been good in the past. The last 6 months must have taken a real toll on this business. The quality of the food has steadily declined. Recently ordered moo shi pork which I have enjoyed in the past but tonite there was leftover boneless spareribs for the pork (you could tell by the red die) and believe it or not left over lettuce leaves sauteed, easily identifiable from what should have been cabbage and shredded nori which I assumed was left from their sushi dishes. Quite frankly it was gross and was quickly disposed of. The pan fried ravs were defrosted and browned. Enough said. If this is a result of struggling thru covid I understand. Perhaps things will improve along with the current public health situation. read more

5 Stars for Walpole! After reading mixed reviews on this place, I wasn't sure what to expect. Came here on a weeknight and it was empty, but I didn't mind. There are a few TV's in there and one was set to the Travel Channel. Extra star just for that. Started with Miso soup and Edamame. Both delicious. Then onto the sushi... there is not a HUGE selection of items without shellfish. I know I'm always writing about this, but its a real issue. However, the items that we picked were fresh and delicious. The two things that stood out the most were the Yellowtail sashimi. Usually, its sliced thinly and is slightly tougher than say tuna or salmon. But this was amazing. It was a nice thick piece that just melted in your mouth. Perfectly buttery and virtually fat free. The white tuna sashimi - same quality. The second thing that blew my mind was the Angel Maki. It really wasn't as spicy as advertised, but it is damn good. Its a very creative version of a rainbow roll and I absolutely love it. The service was excellent, we were never waiting on drinks or much of anything. I'll most definitely be back here. read more

This place has become our absolute favorite restaurant. We now go there at least once a week. The miso soup has been consistently amazing for the last few months. Can I just say TORCHED TUNA sushi?!!!! Phenomenal. Whether it's white tuna or regular tuna, my husband and I can't get enough. We also really like the angel maki. Some of my friends that have been there have also really enjoyed their meals! I love the sushi so much, that I haven't gotten around to doing the hibachi grill, but people always look like they are having a lot of fun. read more
