Really good quality Chinese food - everything is always hot and fresh. My favorite treat is the sugar buns that they have - omg it's like a delicious sugary cloud of goodness. All of their dishes are well seasoned, and I've yet to have anything I didn't like. There are some preference things I would change - like I don't enjoy having peas and carrots in my lobster sauce - but the sauce is still awesome. I have ordered takeout about a half dozen times there over the last few months. The food comes hot and tastes fresh. Mu Shu Chicken was excellent, ginger chicken with string beans very good also. Terrible. Giving two stars instead of one because they're really nice, but the food is bland and no prepared delicately. Kung Pao pork was not in a proper sauce, had almost no visible chili peppers, and registered barely above 0 on the heat scale. Fail. Chicken with Cashews isn't something I usually order, but this too was off. I've never had a hoisin flavor in this before, didn't care for it. The words "knife skills" apparently aren't part of the vocabulary either, as the components were pretty much hacked together. We just tried them for dinner tonight for the first time! Everything was delicious! We really liked their sesame shrimp, steamed tofu with veggies, and my 2 year old son devoured some crab rangoon and lo mein. Nothing was greasy- not even the fried appetizers. read more

No matter how many times you repeat in precise language the items ordered, there are frequently errors. One young woman who mans the front end does a reasonable job of getting the correct order placed. Then another young lady is poorly instructed in taking orders, perhaps a language issue. What is worse is that the front end has two telephones and two lines. The young lady takes your credit card, has great difficulty in searching on the monitor for your telephone number which is the key to the order. Then one or both telephone lines ring and she spends the next 4 to eight minutes taking more orders while you stand there growing more impatient knowing that your food sits on the counter in back getting cold in the totally unheated restaurant and even cold kitchen. You would think the kitchen would be warm but everyone is in heavy winter coats and winter overalls. Management is terrible even as the food is excellent. Just got home with the take-out to find that whoever packed the quart of soup snapped in half (broke) the cover! Eegad cleanup. I'm wAiting here 45 minutes while 3 order items grow cold and they supposedly are preparing correctly the two that I psid for but were missing or incorrect, all the while the young lady keeps fielding new telephone orders as six customers who ordered are standing here in the cold vestibule. read more

My second go at China Sky. 129. China Sky Soup for 2 $15.95 A rare combination of scallop, lobster, crabmeat and shrimp with selected greens in a delicious broth. Good soup lots of seafood, nice big shrimp, lots of scollop (nice and tender not overcooked) pieces of actual lobster and real crab, I mean REAL including the tendons in the legs so watch out for those :) Very bland though, I added some soy and ginger at home to give it a little zip. This could be an exceptional soup if the cooks added some nice spices. 110. 4 Beef Teriyaki $6.95 The worst beef teriyaki I have ever had! I'm not a mean person and I don't like saying this but it was awful. I have made Beef Teriyaki at home and even my first try, which was nothing to write home about, put this to shame. If you like bland non marinated tough beef on a stick (possibly boiled) go for it! Please Owners of China Sky change this! 111. 4 Fried Jumbo Shrimp $6.45 These were a type I have not had before, you will not mistake these for the chinese style that are batter dipped. These are lightly breaded, butter flied shrimp, they were tender and not overcooked. Quite good! 112. 6 Crab Rangoon $4.95 Just your average run of the mill Crab rangoon. If there was a little more filling I could get excited over these, non greasy, pretty delicious Rangoons. 301. Shredded Pork with Peking Sauce $10.45 Very good! Yummy peking sauce. They do not come with any wraps which I am used to for this particular dish from other restaurants. I lucked out and had lettuce at home to use as wraps. H27. Peking Duck (Peking) $32.45 The crispy skin of a whole duck served on crepe accompanied with hoisin sauce tender scallion brushed and shredded cucumber. GOOD Peking Duck! Pricey but good. Presented very well for take out! I'll have to refer to this weeks order as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly! Only 3 stars so they dropped this visit. I'll update agin next visit. read more

Like leather Crab Rangoon: good Chicken wing: good Chicken terriiyaki: good, but deep fried Beef terriyaki: horrible, shoe leather Fried rice.: flavorless, not fresh, no pork Pork chow mein: good, but not typical. Brown sauce. So many better places out there like Keihei on a good day, Asia treasures. Ate what I could, and the rest went in the bin. China Sky really needs to reevaluate their recipes. My wife and I tried their lunch special and we were both impressed. The rice was tasty and the main course was also very good. The price is a bit high, but the quality seemed to justify the price. Hopefully the competition in the town between ChinaSky and Jings Garden will help to raise the bar on Chinese food in Medfield. I think China Sky is better than the competition in town. I have tried lots of chinese places in the medfield, westwood, norwood and dedham areas and this place is my favorite. We have had it twice now. It looks like a simple carry-out chinese place but the food quality is really good! Here are my ratings of the items we have tried: (5) Excellent - chicken fingers (awesome --crispy but not greasy), pork dumplings, hot and sour soup (4) Very good - scallion pancakes (awesome flavor but I only rated them a 4 because they were a little soggy both times we ordered them), egg drop soup, general gao chicken, kung pao chicken (3) Average- pork fried rice (but a little better 2nd time we ordered it) (2) OK (1) Not good - beef teriyaki (my husband and I both think that they forgot to put the teriyaki sauce on the beef teriyaki. It had no flavor at all and looked like completely plain beef. We will try it again sometime to see if our assumption is correct) Overall we are very happy with this restaurant find! read more

My family has been coming to this restaurant for taking out for years. ON mothers day we informed them as usual of a shellfish allergy. My sister found shrimp in the fried rice I was eating, my throat started to close, my lips swelled, and my chest turned red. I missed a day of work and school. my sister mom, and I are allergic to shellfish. They wouldn't reimburse us all of our money. I almost had to go to the ER luckily I got the reaction to stop with antihistamines (3 benadryl and 2 allegra) around the clock for 24 hours. I am very disappointed as they have had our business for years, and our family has spend 1000's there and the best garlic chicken I have ever had in my life. Compared to a few other places in the area the food is pretty good. However, it's not consistent. A few times the pork fried rice was great, other times it had taste of leftover fried oil. And some of the chicken dishes are bland. The sweet & sour had the worst sauce I ever tasted. The best thing we found was crispy sesame dishes on their Special menu. This is our go to Chinese take out place for the area. The fried appetizers always have a nice crunch to them but are not overly drenched in oil. The vegetables in the entrees always taste fresh and crisp. The portions are very generous. We've tried most of the house specials, and all are outstanding, especially any of the Amazing or Sesame dishes. A great take out place but needs serious improvement inside. Food quality is surprisingly good food for such a small place.
