Slice of ginger bread with whip topping

Overall alright, nothing compares to homemade whip cream, very sad to find they use what tasted like redi-whip. Clearly if I can taste redi-whip I consume it myself, I just prefer when going to a more homey style place to have real ingredients. The redi whip melted off the way it would in hot cocoa to where it was kinda wet gingerbread so eat quickly if you get this! Not greeted when we entered, I think just two gals working who once we had our order taken were very pleasant to chat with the front of the house. Almost zero wait- 10 mins or less while the majority of that wait was just for our order to be taken/greeted. Overall I would come back, just being prepared for disappointment with the whip cream situation

Stopped on our way home from Detroit lake. We had a mushroom cheeseburger basket and a bacon cheeseburger basket. Both were very good!! Great service, even though they had help wanted signs up, she was friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend!

Nothing's better than some ice cream and milk shakes after a long day hiking by the Santiam River. There was quite a crowd on a Sunday afternoon, but the service wasn't too long of a wait. For three milk shakes, we waited about 15 minutes. The Peanut Butter shake and the Gingerbread shake were my favorites! During COVID-19, it makes me feel much more comfortable seeing the workers wear masks and gloves... but most of the customers were not! Be warned that many people sit and eat at the front of the store, so many did not wear masks. Some didn't even wear masks while waiting for their food!

The burgers aren't anything crazy (but the price is right) about and the soft serve is just ok (but the gingerbread underneath is way better), but that isn't why you are stopping here now is it. It's because it serves ok food and is that slice of road-trip Americana that everyone can love! Cute decorations, very kid friendly, and the walk up ordering window beats waiting for a table at some other places in the area with their speedy service. (I think the ordering window is only open in the summer). Nice in the summer time with their outdoor seating. The inside is a bit less "fun" so don't know if this will be a winter stop for me.

My bison burger, May 2014. Not bad looking- tasted good.

The food is decent and service is good. BUT! $50 for 3 bacon burgers and no drinks, in rural oregon is way out of line.

It was okay - average, nothing special and pretty spendy for what you get. Good service and fairly quick.

We also recalled that there was some connection to Gerry Frank's Konditorei in Salem, which immediately caught our interest. After doing a little research, we discovered there's a deep and fascinating history linking the two businesses. The Lovin Oven began in 1983, when founder Doreen Helmemn operated the bakery out of her home. In 1993, the business expanded into a small storefront in downtown Stayton after being purchased by Mike and Valerie Schultz. Mike, who was formerly a logger, was personally taught cake decorating by the original founder, an origin story that adds to the bakery's charm and authenticity. One of the most interesting details we learned is that The Lovin Oven is the primary baker for Gerry Frank's Konditorei in Salem, a partnership that dates back to the 1980s. That relationship grew even stronger in 2017, when the Schultzes became co-owners of the Konditorei. Many people enjoying desserts at high-end restaurants throughout the region may not realize that their cakes were baked in Stayton. The Lovin Oven is especially well known for its Champagne Raspberry cake, Marionberry cheesecake, and an impressive variety of gourmet bars and cookies. Their menu also includes cakes, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cupcakes, and more, something for just about every dessert preference. The bakery itself is housed in an industrial-style building that includes the production bakery, a storefront, and a small seating area where you can enjoy your treats on site. The outside is a unique with a black painted brick exterior. The customer facing area of the inside is industrial. We picked up a selection of cupcakes to take to dinner and were quickly back on the road. The cupcakes were a hit, everyone loved them, and they disappeared fast. It felt great to share something local with such a rich backstory. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we're glad we stopped. If you find yourself passing through Stayton or looking for high-quality desserts in the Willamette Valley, The Lovin Oven is absolutely worth checking out.
