We bought him a kids fishing rod a few years back and he never really got to use it much. We are not expert fishers so learners and he managed to catch a fish oh the excitement lol he also caught a big one but his rod was not strong enough. The area is beautiful two of the most beautiful ducks paid us a daily visit on our campsite and we had our coffee right next to the deer in the morning. The pool was cool but it did not bother my kids they got to warm up in the hot tub. I can't believe the negative reviews for this place it actually put me off coming a few times. We had a lovely time and we will come back. They have rail bikes close by too we have to come back just to give those a go.

May 4 - 7, 2025 - Cloverdale…read more First off, I want to say that the staff is 5-star. Friendly and helpful. Now, about the campground. It is rustic. There are beautiful trees. Deer come to visit. Acorn woodpeckers are everywhere. It is near the river. That being said, the campground itself, particularly the RV sites, are in need of repair and upgrades. Many of the sites are not level. Quite a few had areas where RVs or trailers had bottomed out over and over, so deep ruts had developed into the pavement. Some had high inclines just to get into the site, so access could be a major headache depending on your rig. There are four camping sections. Some of the sections have cabins, along with RV sites. Each section has its own bathroom, except for the "C" loop. (The C loop bathroom has been closed for a long while and is being upgraded.) The sites are varied--a few have lots of room with no close neighbor. Others are packed tight together. So maybe look at the campground map when you book. They have water and 30-amp electrical hookups. No sewer hookups, but they do have a dump station. Some of the campers seem to be long term, and they have those portable RV dump tanks. They would drive back and forth with their portables--we were fairly close to the dump station, so it was a bit noisy and busy. Speaking of noisy, the campground is near Highway 101. You can see and hear the highway from camp. Highway 101 is on a ridge above the campground, and the traffic noise and truck brake noises seem to travel down. The river is nice, but there is not a lot of accessible area near the river. We walked down to the river, and there was a woman who was fishing and had her two dogs off leash. They were not friendly dogs. Also, it is very rocky. Not easy traveling. There are only two areas where you can set chairs down, and they are rather small areas. I didn't use the restroom facilities, but I did peek in, and they seemed clean enough, I guess. There were two showers, and three bathroom stalls (but one of the stalls was out of order.) Also of note: the restrooms require a code to enter, but none of our paperwork had the code written on it. We finally figured out that the gate code on the parking pass for our tow vehicle was also the bathroom code. Seems like they should write the code on the map of campground that they give you when you check in.

Staff is friendly. I'm very glad I have a Class B van now and not my Class A. There are larger…read morevehicles here but for me the roads are fairly narrow and I would have held my breath a few times had I not been in my van. I had one of the sites that has a considerable incline to get into but easy to navigate and one in it's a nice site. My walks around haven't revealed much trash...some but not much. Some dog poo but not as much as I've seen at other campgrounds. Appears to be quite a few long term tenants but the few I've had interaction with were pleasant. Can hear the freeway but once inside and during the night it's been one of the quieter places I've been. I can actually sleep without my white noise machine. Havent used the facilities...peeked in one and it's "ok" but not sure if I'd use showers or laundry. But I really didn't look that close.

Very tight space to get a 34ft trailer and a long bed truck to park thru. There were canoes on the side free to use for guests. Also life jackets for adult and kids. Kids spent the morning fishing behind our trailer by the fire pits. Picnic tables also for every spot. A cute little hang out area near the canoe. Games in the room by the office and also bathroom/showers available. There wasn't much space for kids to ride there bikes. Was a great stay still.

Jaden, who brought my family firewood, was an amazing young man. He was strong with the firewood and drove his golf cart with such purpose - it was honestly inspiring. He was very smart and he humbly accepted a tip from my father. Not only did he deliver the firewood the way he did, he assisted us with fire starter and shared all of his tips and tricks. our fire could've lasted all night! I am not sure if he is a boy scout, but he should be! Believe it or not, Jaden has a twin brother who also works at River Bend, Parker. Not only are they twins, but they are both outstanding young men. Parker who charmed my family, helped my family in the store showing us all of the cute, hip merch and hooked me up with a cute pink hoodie! He elevated the experience in the store from the second we walked in by greeting us with a warm smile. Parker set up my family with a delicious dinner at the Pub and even delivered our food when it was ready! These two boys made my family's experience here at River Bend fabulous and they are amazing young men. Who ever raised these boys did a great job, so big kuddos to you! Anyways, I just wanted to get on here to express my gratitude towards the staff at River Bend and their dedication to their job. 5 stars!!!

It perfectly fit our group of 13, had plenty of shade, a gorgeous view of the river and a perfect clearing in the trees for the stars at night time (: The staff was so so kind and helpful! My husband had a flat tire and they had an air pump that they were more than happy to let us use. Aly (I hope I spelled that right!) at the front desk gave us multiple recommendations for places to launch a float for different age groups that would all come back to the private beach on the campgrounds! The kids in our group ranging from 4 to 17 all loved the arcade on site and the store was amazing! Their merch is also beautiful! I got a fishing hat with a patch, a gorgeous hoodie and a couple post cards. We cannot wait to stay here again (:

The drinks were crafted deliciously and very reasonably priced. We had the decaf cappuccino, lemonade and cold chocolate milk which had a nice syrup drizzle inside the cup! We also stopped by the market and deli. We did not buy any deli items but we did get some sundries and snacks. Inside the store it was super clean and well organized. Pricing was fair too. If you are looking for a specific item or brand this might not be the place but if you forgot something they def have it! Lastly we just stopped by the bbq restaurant. It's just bar food. She is such a kind and generous person. She allowed me to use her WiFi, her phone, and let me and my kids wait for hours while our tow truck came. While waiting we got to see the plants and items she sells at her shop. She has beautiful hand crafted items as well as plants that are clearly very healthy and well cared for. Each plant was in a unique mug surrounded by sea glass or tiny sea stars. She has very neat antiques and even handmade crocheted items. I got to see her building some of her artwork made of natural materials like driftwood and abalone shells. She gifted my children a book and other things to keep them occupied while we were stranded. She has such a beautiful heart and beautiful store. It's definitely worth a stop by.

What a wonderful plant shop!!! So many unique and and amazing plants and cacti! I went back twice…read more:) I love the special touch of stones and shells from the beach, in the pots with the plants. The lady who helped me was very friendly and had personally put together 10 clay pots of little cacti that was I wanting to bring home with me. Our son and his fiancé were to be married there before the beer festival and it went so well! The camp host, Reese, took such good care of us. She was kind, friendly, and oh so helpful! The crew that runs the maintenance part is amazing, as well! Becky, John, and Connor did all they could to make our stay comfortable and joyous. It is such a great community feeling there! Our rv sites were clean and mowed when we arrived. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The price of the sites is very inexpensive. Bring cash! The amenities nearby are plenty. We were able to get propane for our fire pits right down the road. We enjoyed visiting the nearby wineries and Anderson Valley Brewing Company. The grocery store has a deli and there's a taco truck right out front! We will definitely be making a trip back!
