May 4 - 7, 2025 - Cloverdale…read more First off, I want to say that the staff is 5-star. Friendly and helpful. Now, about the campground. It is rustic. There are beautiful trees. Deer come to visit. Acorn woodpeckers are everywhere. It is near the river. That being said, the campground itself, particularly the RV sites, are in need of repair and upgrades. Many of the sites are not level. Quite a few had areas where RVs or trailers had bottomed out over and over, so deep ruts had developed into the pavement. Some had high inclines just to get into the site, so access could be a major headache depending on your rig. There are four camping sections. Some of the sections have cabins, along with RV sites. Each section has its own bathroom, except for the "C" loop. (The C loop bathroom has been closed for a long while and is being upgraded.) The sites are varied--a few have lots of room with no close neighbor. Others are packed tight together. So maybe look at the campground map when you book. They have water and 30-amp electrical hookups. No sewer hookups, but they do have a dump station. Some of the campers seem to be long term, and they have those portable RV dump tanks. They would drive back and forth with their portables--we were fairly close to the dump station, so it was a bit noisy and busy. Speaking of noisy, the campground is near Highway 101. You can see and hear the highway from camp. Highway 101 is on a ridge above the campground, and the traffic noise and truck brake noises seem to travel down. The river is nice, but there is not a lot of accessible area near the river. We walked down to the river, and there was a woman who was fishing and had her two dogs off leash. They were not friendly dogs. Also, it is very rocky. Not easy traveling. There are only two areas where you can set chairs down, and they are rather small areas. I didn't use the restroom facilities, but I did peek in, and they seemed clean enough, I guess. There were two showers, and three bathroom stalls (but one of the stalls was out of order.) Also of note: the restrooms require a code to enter, but none of our paperwork had the code written on it. We finally figured out that the gate code on the parking pass for our tow vehicle was also the bathroom code. Seems like they should write the code on the map of campground that they give you when you check in.

The owner has had several lawsuits filed against her since the opening of her park and that should be enough for anyone to reconsider their stay. pS the review from her "tenant" Betty is her family whom has of course not received discriminatory letters.

Bathtooms need cleaning and also updating, dog park has stickers that are not good for dogs at all! The store is not available for many hours at a time no one there to great guests. Kids park had so many broke toys and the area is not safe. The park could be so so much more, I get money doesn't grow on trees but this park need much help, it has so much potential but at this time we would not come back for a second visit unless they did some updates!

The drinks were crafted deliciously and very reasonably priced. We had the decaf cappuccino, lemonade and cold chocolate milk which had a nice syrup drizzle inside the cup! We also stopped by the market and deli. We did not buy any deli items but we did get some sundries and snacks. Inside the store it was super clean and well organized. Pricing was fair too. If you are looking for a specific item or brand this might not be the place but if you forgot something they def have it! Lastly we just stopped by the bbq restaurant. It's just bar food. Lots of fried items like, onion rings, French fries, etc. cheap but good. Chicken wings were the biggest hit and the nachos!

I did love the playground for our littles--we got lucky and got camp spots right next to one. River access was easy. Does get packed due to the fact they allow day users to access as well. We checked in on Sunday and stayed until Thursday. Give or take 3 whole days/night of the bathroom not being cleaned. Showers had clumps of hair, razors left on the floor--just gross honestly. I brought it to the attention of the maintenance guy to kindly ask when they would be cleaning next, to be answered with," I'm not sure, you can drive to the other bathrooms." Brought it to the attention to the guy in charge at the front, where I was then rudely spoken over as he answered the phone mid conversation, to then continue with their regular lady has Covid and he's had complaints about this maintenance guy a few times now. He did ask to give us free ice but I declined and said I just wanted clean bathrooms. Then to top it off, as any camp night slows down around a fire, laughs are had and stories are told, a worker comes over to tell us to be quit and accuses us of being on drugs(acid) to be exact. SMH. What a completely ignorant moron. Yes we were laughing and being a little loud, but no excuse for a worker to speak to any guest this way. Owners apologized but like I said for what we paid, the cleanliness, the distance some of us drove and how we were treated--would not waste my money again.

We arrived in the evening, around 6pm. The signs were not clear on where to check in (or not check…read morein at all in this case) and no one was there to speak to. We finally found where we were supposed to be and decided to just pull in and get set up for the night. The camp sites were VERY short, we were barely able to fit our unit in, which was not what the website stated. There were also lots of trees hanging down and overgrown that made it difficult to get in. All of the other units in the camp ground were covered in spider webs and overgrown weeds/grasses. Clearly many people had not moved their units in a long time and several probably had not had people inside them in a long time either. Overall it was not a very comfortable place to be. I would not have felt comfortable staying there as a female alone. The lake is right across the street but it was buggy, hot, humid, and smelled like sewage. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone to stay, nor would I stay there again myself. Luckily we were only passing through for the night and only there maybe a total of 12 hours, but that was even too long.

She is such a kind and generous person. She allowed me to use her WiFi, her phone, and let me and my kids wait for hours while our tow truck came. While waiting we got to see the plants and items she sells at her shop. She has beautiful hand crafted items as well as plants that are clearly very healthy and well cared for. Each plant was in a unique mug surrounded by sea glass or tiny sea stars. She has very neat antiques and even handmade crocheted items. I got to see her building some of her artwork made of natural materials like driftwood and abalone shells. She gifted my children a book and other things to keep them occupied while we were stranded. She has such a beautiful heart and beautiful store. It's definitely worth a stop by.

What a wonderful plant shop!!! So many unique and and amazing plants and cacti! I went back twice…read more:) I love the special touch of stones and shells from the beach, in the pots with the plants. The lady who helped me was very friendly and had personally put together 10 clay pots of little cacti that was I wanting to bring home with me.
