Had a lakefront spot for a 2-day weekend stay. The space was very tight. Took us a while to get our trailer in since we got the middle spot and all the other guests on the sides were already settled in and the ones in front was already settled too. Very tight space to get a 34ft trailer and a long bed truck to park thru. There were canoes on the side free to use for guests. Also life jackets for adult and kids. Kids spent the morning fishing behind our trailer by the fire pits. Picnic tables also for every spot. A cute little hang out area near the canoe. Games in the room by the office and also bathroom/showers available. There wasn't much space for kids to ride there bikes. Was a great stay still. read more

This is the third time we've stayed at Aurora RV Park. It has been five or six years since our last stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jesse, the park manager, who was very welcoming. She placed us in a site that fit our pick-up and trailer perfectly and provided us the restroom and wifi codes. The park was quiet and the view from the lake edge was beautiful. The restrooms were updated and spotless. Even though one of the showers is ADA accessible, Jessie said they are working on a new, separate, ADA restroom with shower. Recent improvements to the lake edge wall and office deck and the general tidiness of the grounds gave a sense of ongoing renovations and an up-and-coming RV park. We will definitely stay here again! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The RV spot itself was beautiful because we landed a spot front and center facing the lake. The views were beautiful, it was quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately I do have more cons then pros. While I had a a perfectly pleasant stay, The RV spots were all aligned one next to the other with barely any room to walk between them. Of course there was room, but there was no sense of privacy. Instead of giving space on the side of each RV for the travelers, space was given at the rear. But the space is limited depending on how long the back of your RV is, because your RV could take up the majority of your outside space. Free canoes and kayaks were advertised when we called ahead of time. But upon arrival, we were informed by other visitors that the majority of them were damaged and unusable. It was for the best, because the lake was absolutely DISGUSTING. Of course, this has nothing to do with the campsite and it's not anyone's fault, just some thing to note. The recreational room was fun, and we spent several hours playing ping-pong here with the family in the evening. Unfortunately, it was not very well-kept though. One paddle was missing and one paddle was falling apart. We actually used a small pan for the other paddle LOL The place looked like it had not been cleaned in a while, with kitchen appliances and dusty utensils lying all over the counters. Bathrooms: spotless!!! I spoke to the custodian who said they were recently renovated, and it shows. They were absolutely pristine, empty every time I went to use them, and very spacious. I ended up showering here instead of in my RV because the water pressure and space was abundant. Overall, this is a great stay if you're planning on staying at your RV and perhaps sitting outside to enjoy the views. Also great if you need some more scenic to spend the night and are planning on going out during the day. read more

We rented a "Tiny Home" (a MUNI bus convertion) on AirBnb. It had a comfortable king bed, and a great space to spend a night or two. Aurora is a great RV Park. Mike, the owner/manager supported us via phone. When we arrived late in the evening, he told us where things were and what to do. A woman who worked there greeted us as she was guiding someone in with their RV. My partner and I have been fantasizing about RV life. Our experience at Aurora put a positive taste in our mouths for how nice an RV park can. First, this park is located right on the lake: there is fishing and a place to launch boats. There is a sink that I think is for cleaning fish; there's camping if you wish; and a laundromat. The main thing is that it feels well cared for. Next time we want to glamp in Lake County--we'll probably go there. read more

Aurora RV Park was such a great spot to stay. We were greeted by Mike with cupcakes for our kiddos as we parked right next to the lake, we stayed in spot #7. There were kayaks and a paddleboat, which the kids loved. We had full hookup, good wifi, and a table and fire pit right next to the lake. It was quiet, which I was surprised about because the park looked full. There was a large covered grilling area with charcoal and lighter fluid available for use. On-site laundry. The spots are on the smaller size, we had to unhook our truck from the trailer (we only stayed one night), but the spots are divided clearing and numbered with cute planters. read more

Staying here through Airbnb with Mike. Fishing spot here is legit. We hooked on a total of five fish in 3 hours: catfish and bass! Mike is awesome and very knowledgeable and open to any questions you have. There are tents already provided and the campsite is spotless! When I arrived, I thought that I would turn around and leave. The spaces were TINY, the smallest I have ever been in - It was built more like a shotgun house, long and narrow with just a few feet between each RV and the table at the end of your site. There were a ton of mosquitos that first night as well. My opinion definitely flipped quickly. The managers came out immediately to help us line up and back in our RV to the empty spot. The view was GORGEOUS in our lake front spot. Highly recommend you get a lake view. The campsite was CLEAN - hands down the cleanest campground restrooms I have ever used and as a bonus they have free hot showers. The kids spent a lot of time in the clubhouse building legos and playing foosball. My son and husband had a great time out on the provided canoes, fishing with the free rods, and using the nets. We were steps from the edge of the water. I also can't rave enough about the managers - they played with my kids, worked hard, were helpful, and even brought us home baked dessert one night. Added bonus, after the first night I barely saw a single bug. If the sites were larger, this would get five stars for me. read more

Very disappointed with this place. We were told what a great park this was ~ by the owner and drove 3 hours to get there...Only to find it a dirt and gravel parking lot with 90% of the occupants actually living there. Not our idea of camping ! Looked like people on meth or alcohol or both? The lake access is terrible, no beach and filthy water. I don't know what happened to Clear Lake ? It used to be nice, not anymore. Completely run down. There are many other places to camp if you go further towards Fort Bragg or Mendocino with nature and forest ~ even ocean views.. The owner Mike was quick to take our money ( made 3 for reservations June and July) but couldn't figure out his software in order to issue a refund to us ? Avoid this place ! We arrived arrived around 9 pm. Mike, the owner, came out to greet us and showed us to our tent. We camped on the "rv" side of the campground, which worked out pretty nicely for us. The tent was set up and clean inside. It was a great quality. We got our bed mats and air mattress set up and tucked in after a short walk about and gazing up at the Milky Way. The night sky here is magnificent. The grounds are stunning. There is a picnic area near the beach with a few little tables and a large grill set in stone. The tables are sheltered from the sun by a pergola covered in grapevines. This area is above the waterline; if you walk out to the far corner you have a scenic view of the entire lake. There are trees all over that provide shade to most of the tables and benches around the property. There's also a park right next to the property with a playground and a pier. As a guest, you are welcome to use any one of their water craft during business hours. They have 2 canoes, 2 sit-in kayaks, and a sit-on kayak. There's also a paddle boat that I think you can borrow. They provide life jackets free of charge, as well. Jet skis are available to rent hourly. Guests receive a 10% discount for every night up to 50% off. We definitely took advantage and it was a blast! There is a decent sized rec room with a very large 2 basin sink, a mini fridge, and a small microwave for use. There's also a ping pong table, a couch, beanbag, loveseat, bookshelf full of books and magazines, as well as some workout equipment. Even at the end stages of their remodel construction, the ladies bathroom was immaculate. The men's restroom looked clean; the only small issue is that the urinals don't flush (or so I was told by our 10 year old boy) so it was smelly in there. The view of the lake is superb. Every single person who worked on the property was not only friendly and helpful but went above and beyond to make sure that every single guest felt welcome. I guess spending your days in such a beautiful place is really good for the soul because everybody was incredible! (Not just with us, I witnessed it with all of the other guests as well.) A fire broke out on the hill behind the RV Park and one of the employees immediately ran out with a hose and started soaking the grass and area surrounding the RV park to protect their guests' property and homes. The fire department came quickly and made light work of the fire before it had a chance to spread. (*As a reminder that we are in California and it is dry!) We felt very safe seeing how fast everything was taken care of and that Deborah went above and beyond to ensure the safety of the guests. Thanks to the owner, Mike, our family had a very memorable weekend celebrating my son's 18th birthday. He brought a frosted birthday cake, hats and bubble wands on the night of arrival. Throughout our stay, he was just a call/text away with swift responses to inquiries about WiFi and firewood. The location is great for fishermen (there was a bass tourney 9 miles up the road). My boys caught loads of bluegill, multiple bass (largest 3.74lb), and a humongous catfish (12lb, 29in). The Aurora offers free use of their canoes and kayaks. We brought our dogs' life jackets, planning on going for a paddle, but we were too busy pulling up fish! Sunrise on the lake is epic. Wildlife spotting is amazing as well... we saw flocks of pelicans, statuesque egrets, Great Blue Herons, and deer sipping from the water. On the day of checkout, Mike also delivered a huge bowl of fruit and freshly baked chocolate chip brunch cake. We are already making plans to return! read more

First off let me say Debi is amazing! She was the first person we meet at check in. She showed us around and was very helpful and kind. Always said hello and asked how we were doing when she saw us around. Mike came by later in the evening and met my husband and stepson. We tent camped at the 4 person tent area. We got an 8 person tent in the spot. (We could not find out smaller tent).It was right on the road, we were aware of this. Not aware of the volume of cars that were passing through. It was not bad during the day barley noticed the car volume, but traffic started and was noticeable around 5:00am every day (our stay was Tuesday-Thursday). Not much for shade in the spot. We used two canopy's and a tarp for sunset. Has a fire pit, not a table or BBQ pit. The restrooms are very clean also a shower available. Canoes and kayak's are available for your use during your stay. Nice picnic area right next to the water. Great spot for dinner or breakfast. We cooked our food and brought it over for the views. A rec-room with ping pong, books, lounge area, sink(dish soap and sponges available), coffee maker, refrigerator, treadmill and a ski machine for exercise use. All and all we enjoyed our stay. We would consider staying there again. Maybe in a different tent area(one available by the rec-room has shade). Had a great time made family memories. So it was a successful family camping trip. Our tiny thanksgiving holiday was perfect because of this gem we found. We arrived thanksgiving day and stayed for two nights. We have been to many rv parks in the two months we've been on the road, and this was the most memorable and best stay of our entire vacation. The best part is that this place was the last one we would stay at before we concluded our vacation. Mike the owner really made us feel like family as soon as we got to his resort. He gave us a fascinating tour and history of the property and lake. He shared sweets he freshly baked and helped us feel like special family on thanksgiving. I was really touched since we could not be with ours. He is a super sweet warm host, and we always saw him working hard to make sure everyone was happy and his property looked top notch. Our neighbors were also so friendly and seemed like they were repeat guests. There is not much to do in town, however we were satisfied with relaxing with the view and wildlife that was in abundance at this resort. Thank you Mike for such an awesome stay! read more

This was one of the worst parks we've ever stayed at. The pictures on the website are not even close to what you get. We were told when we made the reservation that we would get an extra long 60 plus foot pull through site. We had to pay the full $82 for one night at time of reservation. Five days before arrival, we got a text stating our site number 53 and that it was a 43 foot site for our 32 foot fifth wheel and full size pickup. I responded and asked if there would be enough room to park the truck. I was assured there was plenty of room to park next to the fifth wheel. of course, there was no refund to be gotten. When we arrived we found the roads and sites to be extremely narrow. We had to shoehorn our unit into the site, and park the truck partway into the road. Most everyone was parked into the road. Sign on office stated to call or text a number. Our neighbor told us there is never anyone in the office. Trees were very much in need of trimming. A large oleander bush scraped and damaged a decal on our unit on the way out. There was no way to get past it without brushing it and no one to cut it. Bathrooms were locked with no code given. Garbage cans were overflowing. Looks like most sites occupied by long term residents with junk and older trailers. Dogs were running around off leash. PIcnic table at lake was covered in bird poop. Lake was muddy and full of weeds and algae, with old tires and a broken boat. We feel we were totally duped into staying here based on their website. I'm very suspicious of any of the positive reviews. Must be a plant. Horrible place. Don't be fooled as we were!!! read more

Stayed here for a week tent camping. Deb, Mike, and Jackie were beyond awesome. There is a little park right next door with access to the water. Very family friendly. Kayaks for use for free as well as a lot of nice updated community spaces. Me and my son had a blast playing ping pong and doing puzzles in the clubhouse. Depending on where you are in the park it can be really loud in the AM or really quiet. We had them move us further into the RV section even though we were in a tent just for the noise factor. They were so accommodating. The bathrooms were very obviously just renovated and are the nicest I've seen in an RV setting. Yes, they do have long term tenants there but anyone who knows the area knows this is mostly due to the fact Lake County has been hit badly with devastating fires. There's a severe housing shortage in the area. I camped here with my two kids alone and never once felt unsafe. We will absolutely be back next time we're in the area! read more

She takes pride in her work and the park. The park is kept very clean, the RV unit I rented for 2 nights was spotless. The owner gave me candy. The rates are a great deal. PASS THIS PLACES! SAVE URSELF SOME DRAMA! As I saw another person say the manager Mandy is racist and classiet, I couldn't put it any better. When we first got here they had monthly dinners with the whole park, that is none existent now. Extremely rude to longer term residents. Has zero knowledge of being a manager.. She has kicked out many people in the 10 months I've been here an only gives a few days notice. Which is illegal and is to go thru a eviction process but most people simply don't want to deal with her drama and leave. She makes rules as she goes. When we moved in, cats were allowed. She even told us the name of two cats that were well known here then months later we let our new cats out and she said cats weren't allowed anymore. She changes rules and gives no notice and will try to tell you to leave illegally. Stand up for urself cuz there are legal ways to be "kicked out". It used to be perfect, grass cut, weeds taken care of, now it isn't maintained much. read more

I stayed at Aurora RV park from the end of October through the end of January while I was in town for a traveling work assignment. The park management/employees they have in place are awesome! They were very accommodating and provided a great stay; I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area. The park is very nice, clean, quiet with beautiful views of the lake, lake access and dog friendly! You won't be able to have your slides out all the way because the other RVs are so close, and it's not the prettiest RV park you'll ever go to, but the view is magnificent, the people were very nice, and the manager who checked us in "Deborah" was fantastic, amazing, kind, caring, and greeted everybody whenever she was working. (I posting for my wife and daughter, dictating this to me) What a disappointment! The pics look great, but you're parked across the street the lake. The RVs are so tight, it was like an obstacle course, and I had to pull up a bit to extend my pop-out. I had a pull-through site, but had to back out because there are so many full-timers with their cars parked everywhere cranking loud music morning and night. I called ahead as requested, but had to wait 15 minutes for the manager to show up to assign a spot. The pier is boarded up and condemned. Wanted to sit on a bench but it looked like it had not been cleaned in forever as it had spider webs all over it. If, it were $20, then we'd know what we were getting. But I thought I'd splurge $78 for a nice place, but would have been happier boondocking. read more

We stopped at Aurora RV Park for one night on our way to the coast. From the first call to reserve our spot until our check-out, Deborah was so helpful and accommodating. We have a very big family and I very much appreciate a person who welcomes our kids. It's actually kind of incredible to meet someone who goes to such great lengths to be welcoming when she isn't an owner. There's no doubt she is invested in seeing this park do well. We came in really late (9:50 p.m.) and were immediately greeted with all of the information we needed to get settled (in the dark!). They even helped guide us to our spot. The lake was so pretty when we woke up this morning. It's a huge lake! We went for multiple walks, watched local fisherman put their boats in the water, and let the kids burn off some energy on the playground. They offered free use of kayaks and canoes. There are also jet skis to rent. You can see how this area is slowly coming back from a poor economy. We will definitely be back when traveling through this part of Northern California again. read more

THIS IS WHY I YELP...!.!.!.!.! If you are a vacationer looking for a great place to stay and post up your rig. DO NOT COME HERE! I just stayed at the Edgewater in Kelsyville and had the Aurora on my bookmarks to check out while I was in town. O to the M to the G....... The photos on Yelp are VERY deceiving! The images that look spectacular are for the motorhome pull ups next to the water. What you don't see on Yelp was the trailer and rv parking across the way. Let me just say this the politely, it is nothing but long term residents. I would off snapped some photos for Yelp but I was honestly too scared I was going to get shot or offered some smack if I hung out there too long. It was a very uncomfortable feeling and DEFINITELY NOT a place to stay if your a vacationer. It was down right filthy and gross. Their website said they have done 1/2 million dollars in renovations. I dont see it? Trust me on this one guys. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Or if you're in the area, come to a drive through for yourself. Keep your shades on and dont make eye contact with the walking dead. read more

When someone on Yelp tells you this place is a dump, believe them. This is the worst RV park we've ever stayed in. First, check in is at 1 but the office is closed 1-4? What? Took several phone calls before someone finally came and showed us to our site. There was one lakefront left but those sites are about 6 inches apart. Backing in with a 35' fifth wheel would not have been possible. So we were taken across the street which is full of long term residents (some a little scary) with junk everywhere. We had a muddy pull through and the whole place reeked of sewage. Since we had no options for the night we had to stay. It was awful. Muddy, stinky, junky and no place to sit. The only saving grace was the local bar we found 1/4 mile down the road so we could eat without cooking. Would not have wanted to try to cook in that filth. The next day a truck was parked behind us and I called all the numbers over and over to try to get it moved so we could get out. No response. We were finally able to jockey our truck enough to get out and get hooked up. Then had to do some major jockeying to get out due to tree placement and full time junk and cars. Our neighbors who had come in late the night before were also trying to leave and spent over an hour calling all the numbers trying to reach someone so they could pay. Not sure what happened but they were trying as desperately as we were to get out of this dump. While they did have internet, no TV. In a word, awful. Will never return. read more

We stayed at the Aurora RV park last weekend 4/23/16. What a beautiful location. Our site backed up to the water. We had a newly placed concrete patio behind our trailer to enjoy the view of the lake and rolling hills beyond. From what we have heard the park has come a long way since new owners took over. Late one evening a rowdy group showed up and was quickly put in line. They claimed they had been coming here for years and always raised hell. Laina the park manager is the nicest person but did not hesitate to silence them, telling them things were different now, this is not allowed. They also have a large clubhouse that shows off views of the lake. Aurora is the nicest park we found at this part of the lake. Their are several well stocked grocery store near by. If I had to find a fault they do a poor job of returning email questions. We highly recommend this RV park. read more
