I come specifically for the small soft ginger snaps ($10ish for a package of 12). If you are lucky, they have some that are NOT dipped in chocolate. These are more delicious in my opinion as the chocolate distracts from the gingery flavor. Sometimes, they also have overbaked ones which are the same as the soft ones, but it just spent too much time in the oven. Service is friendly and prompt. Free samples of their cookies are available sometimes at the counter. read more

Funky taste in these cookies.... So food is NOT good. There's way too much hype there for sure. Also, this seems to have turned into a cult shop given everything there, at least on my last visit, was nothing but "maga" and supposedly representing "freedom" which is anything but the sort. Was stopping by before work. the first few moments where fine, the store had loud music playing and seemed to have some sort flooding issue in the bathroom. as I started making my order the bathroom issue got worse and the whole store filled with an unimaginable stench. The food was a mess, the ambiance was subpar, the service was criminal, and my day was completely ruined. The staff was welcoming at first but quickly ignored me to move on to things in the back. Lots of tasty treats to be found here. They are best known for their gingerbread but they also make other delicious things such as chocolate chip cookies and macaroons. Their macaroons are delicious especially the chocolate dipped macaroons. And their gingerbread cookies are just about the best I've ever had. Everything here is always fresh and tasty. The customer service here is great. Not too long ago I was picking up a pretty big order that was packed into a couple of shopping bags and one of the workers there helped me out to my car with my order. Spoke to a young lady name Taylor regarding making a nice cookie basket for my son who has nut allergies. We discussed that what was being placed in the basket so I can bring it up to him in college. Taylor did an awesome job with a fall like theme with assorted cookies from ginger to sugar and chocolates we were impressed and they were all delicious. I like that they only allow 5 customers in at a time but that is negated when they jam 5 more into the tiny entrance! Someone left and this teenager yells at me to "get back the stores too full!" Mumbles something about the count needed to drop and didn't I know about COVID restrictions. Meanwhile I have 4 customers cramming in behind me. Standing in the hallway and look at all the MAGA pictures it's not hard to see that they think COVID is fake news. They really need to manage their store. Cookies are mediocre but not terrible. Certainly not worth the price they charge. Glad I still bought some so I don't have any desire to come back and go through all that again! read more

Great baked goods! Had an especially good experience recently placing a large order for a baby shower. They were able to prepare the order within a week and I ended up with lovely individually wrapped ginger and sugar cookies decorated for the occasion. Worked great as a dessert of a party favor. Let's start with "taste" - to put it mildly, the cookies and gingerbread are dry and flavorless. You can quite literally get better tasting cookies and gingerbread prepackaged from a big chain store or virtually anywhere else. When it comes to service - it's pretty horrific - very slow and haphazard and served with a side of attitude. On the one occasion that I was in the store, the owner was working and served me herself. She had a very clear attitude (couldn't tell you why), which made for an unpleasant experience. Between the lack of taste and poor quality of the products and the subpar service, I would recommend you look elsewhere for cookies and gingerbread. read more

I love waking into Ginger Betty's! It's like a wonderland of a lifesize gingerbread house! Their cookies and brownies are fabulously decorated by seasons but always delicious and great looking - sometimes too good-looking to eat! When I first moved to Quincy at age 11 (7 years ago) I was over joyed to have found such an awsome bakery that knows how to decorate cakes, pastries, etc holiday packages, judging by their store decorations! I love their little DIY cookie decoration packages! I love the Easter edition with the hot pink and orange frosting to decorate the carrot and egg shaped cookies! Saved the greatest for last! People are still talking about how pretty and delicious they were. She also went to the hall that morning and set up the whole table. She didn't just drop the deserts off and go. I've been a long time customer however, the cookies this year are terrible. Maybe I got a bad batch but they taste like dog treats. I had to triple check the package to make sure I didn't accidentally buy animal food. The texture also seemed off, it seemed raw and dense. I discarded the cookies I purchased. Horrible visit to this location today for a field trip with my students with special needs. I booked the field trip a month ago. The space was not very accessible. Upon arrival we were barely acknowledged. I was trying to get my students seated and the manager came over and said that this walkway was for the staff to get back and forth despite realizing I was trying to get her out her seat. It was very rude and aggressive. She ( the manager) never came to check on us . The fire alarm was set off by the manager and she never advised us to go anywhere or to leave the building we were just sitting there. Then as the fire alarm was going off a staff made a racist remark. It was a very uncomfortable and disappointing experience for myself, staff and students. read more

In December I came into Ginger Betty's to purchase cookies for my Sunday School class. There were no cookies that I found suitable for the age I needed the cookies for. I did find cookies for myself and a friend which were in the 50% off section. I was not given the price by Alexis. There was no manager on duty at the time. When I called I got the voicemail which prompted me to leave a negative review because of the customer service. Today 2/18/2020 I found time to go to the store to address my concerns of how I was treated when I came in the store in December. I spoke with Jean who said she apologized for what had happened on said date. That Alexis was a teen and was not aware of the protocol. To me this is a learning tool. Jean wished I had come to the store sooner to address the issue. I rarely come to that side of Quincy. I appreciate and accept her apology and the fact that she gave me cookies for the experience. I appreciate the gesture. I'm just thankful and happy that I was able to speak with management and the owner to have closure and let them know what happened. A learning tool. Recently, I had to get something to bring to a holiday get-together, so I went to Ginger Betty's. It was the first time I had ever gone there, and I was impressed! First, I could smell the gingerbread all the way down the block, and when I went inside, I felt like a kid again! I enjoyed looking at all the Gingerbread people, especially the Celtics/Bruins/ Red Sox ones! Too cute! I also loved all of the gingerbread houses. They really capture the imagination, as well as the holiday spirit! I ended up getting an assorted cookie tray, and it was a big hit! The ginger snaps are soft & delicious, the gingerbread was just right, and the macaroon I had was perfect.
