Pastry and cakes taste great. However, service can be slow.

I happen to pass by Pastry Land and it caught my eye. Pastry? That sounded good. And a quick…read moreglance at Yelp yielded a 4.5 star rating. Coming in, I first could see the individually portioned rectangles of cakes and viennoiseries. No prices. That's actually a pet peeve of mine, as I dislike needing to take up the attention of a employee just to ask what the price is of something, in case another customer is behind me. Next, to the left, I spied their various baklava type sweets. But we are trying to eat fewer sweets, so initially I thought this might just be a reconnaissance visit. Further along yielded some savories. I pointed at and asked for one apiece of their chicken phyllo triangle (chicken briwat - shredded spiced chicken with sweet onion), the spinach flatbread (spinach herb cheese), and semolina pancake (Golden Pancake). These were pretty good. And service was nice. The sweets I picked up on another visit were poofy, but the filling ratio a bit off. Averaging out to maybe 3.5 in my book?

One would think a 1,000+ reviews in I'd gain some level of confidence! Yet, there are still reviews where I feel I am just winging it. Of course, I try to give my thoughts and opinions as best I can, still, I feel as though I were approaching 30 and can't believe I am technically an adult. This is the case with Pastry Land. I've been in here probably half a dozen times, and only now have I decided to put words on paper by wasting your time with irrelevant metaphors. ONWARDS! Pastry Land has great European style cakes and pastries. Their selection is wide and varied, and the quality is terrific! Everything I've had is distinct, scrumptious, and not over-sweet. Okay, great, so why four stars? Well, with the exception of a pistachio baklava square that knocked my socks off, I didn't find their goods were above and beyond sufficient as to drag me back with the same magnetism as Tatté or Flour (for e.g. - I know these are in different categories). They meet expectations, which is a solid four in my book. For some final notes: I feel that the value is fair in light of the quality. Also, the location itself is spacious, very clean, and the staff are friendly.

First off thank you for all the patriotic cakes , cookies & cupcakes it's awesome display you show for your appreciation to those who sacrificed for our way of life & freedoms. Well of coarse I purchased an American Flag cupcake I'm no socialist folks! Wow this cake really packs a serious sugar punch and I loved every bite. My lady had the coconut cake to her delight, I know cause it was gone before I asked for a nibble.. Aside from the eats & treats they had my favorite sesame seed bread, unfortunately I wasn't able to grab some but it's on the notes to stop and get some soon. The support staff was supper courteous , friendly and welcoming, and this a bonus for me. The restaurant and bakery is very clean and roomy for people wanting to take a break. Can't say enough about Montilios Bakery except HELL YA you make the Frank B cut for great hidden places.

My eye fell on the tray of cinnamon rolls, so I took one of those home with me too. At $4.99 for the cruffin and $3.80 for the cinnamon roll, they offered me a 34 cent discount for paying with cash. Tasty and not too sweet. I enjoyed both.

The roast beef sandwich with gouda was so juicy and every bite made me want to cry because I live nowhere near this hidden gem. The sandwiches also come with juicy, tasty bread and butter pickles which are also made in house. I'm pretty sure her meat is nitrate free as well. She has a wonderful selection of teas available - however I didn't have time to try any. The meal was topped off with a light fluffy blondie - super yummy. Overall, I would highly recommend and if I'm near the area again I will most definitely be returning. (I forgot to mention how kind the owner was which made the meal just that much better!)

We had gone one afternoon for tea and some lunch and it was delicious! The owner (I wish I knew her name) is incredible and soooo friendly! Now that they've moved to the smaller location, my mom and I go every since week together to grab stuff for the week! Her breads are TO DIE FOR and she will slice them for you if you're looking to use it for sandwiches! The crackers are fantastic, as well as the pizzas and little pies/tartlets. My mom swears by the chicken pot pies too! She'll also make something special for you if you ask. We asked for scones for next week. Absolutely would recommend checking out this place. If you go early, grab a warm coffee roll.

My boyfriend loved his corn beef hash- looks small but very filling, rich and flavorful but wish it had more eggs. I didn't love the crostata. I heavily appreciated that the "greens" actually had other vegetables added to them to make it interesting and the potatoes were too crispy for me but that's personal preference. The crostata was good size and I loved the crust, I was just disappointed that it advertised goat cheese and I couldn't taste any. After eating we went inside to look at their pastry selection and they are absolutely beautiful!! We got the cream puff (gigantic and delicious), Nutella croissant (10/10 should get), and the butter cookie which was delicious but wish it was denser. The service truly blew me away and for that we Weill definitely be back to try more things.
