I've been here twice with my mom - we like to have writing/coffee dates once or twice a week. Recently we were looking for a new coffee shop to visit and I'm so glad we decided to come here! The place is a good location. There is a parking garage that's free for the first two hours and it's not hard at all to find. It's nice and quiet inside, perfect for writing. And I love the music they play! The staff is very kind and welcoming, I don't feel intrusive at all (like I do at some local coffee shops). And that chai tea latte... I don't drink chai frequently, hardly ever, and I ordered the chai on a whim and MAN!! It was VERY good. Definitely have found my new favorite place to write! read more

This is one of my favorite places in town...I'm surprised I haven't written a review for it yet. They were one of the first - if not the FIRST place to have nitro brew coffee and it is always GREAT. Not going to lie - lots of coffee shops serve nitro brew and it is disgusting at that places - but the flavors at Ginger Beard Coffee (GBC) are always excellent! Many people are unaware - but GBC is a coffee trendsetter in Tampa and lots of coffee roasters and coffee shop owners drift in and out to see what they are up to. Not to mention that the staff/owners are always really friendly and happy to serve samples and tell you all about their product. I'm an indecisive person and they are happy to walk me through their products. Actually the first time I came to GBC - I didn't know what a nitro brew was and they happily explained it to me. They have FREE Wi-Fi and FREE 2 hour parking which is good during the work week when Downtown Tampa charges for parking. This place is definitely one of my favorite spots in town and I try to stop by whenever I make it downtown - which isn't as often ad I would like these days. read more

I've been to the GBC several times and it's a great place to relax with a nice cup of Joe! Or apartment complex was testing fire alarms and this was the perfect place to go because it's friendly and they provide Internet to customers! We enjoy going there for their beers as well! read more

They share a space with an equally great brew house with local craft beer called Pourhouse. I can not recommend this place enough. This is a great little gem in Tampa. It's a no frills and no fuss coffee shop that is spacious and welcoming. A huge plus is finding parking in Tampa and this place had an entire parking garage. I did struggle a bit to find the garage, but the owner was more than patient with helping me find the entrance. When I got there, I ordered a delish cup of oatmeal and a latte. These guys are the best! Not only do they offer your basic hot coffee, they have multiple nitro cold brews and nitro teas as well! The guys are super helpful if you're stuck on making a selection and they have doughnuts! Don't let the location fool you, the bar is a coffee shop by day! I love their space and there is plenty of room for groups (there is a regular running club that meets here) but they have also have space for working or catching up with a close friend. There is limited parking in the area, so come early! Picture this: your favorite brewery serves cold coffee that's nitro infused. That pretty much sums this place up. In other words it's awesome. I had the cubano which is a cold coffee that is creamy and delicious. I got to try a delicious orange flavored coffee as well. I prefer strong coffee so the cubano was a natural choice for me but they have other offerings that's aren't as strong. They serve food and craft beer too. read more

This place gets 10 out of 5 stars in my book! I decided to check this place out after seeing some good reviews in my news feed. The concept of nitro brew also intrigued me. I showed up today around 1:30pm and noticed that they were actually just about to close. Womp womp...but the awesome owners Josh and Derek saw that this was my first time there and I had all my work with me, so they were kind enough to let me work there even though the place is closed from 2-4pm. This awesome gesture of great customer service was enough to give this place 5/5 stars but it gets better. Next they let me sample all of their nitro brews since I've never tasted nor even heard of it until recently. If you are a coffee aficionado who generally drinks coffee black and appreciates the unique flavors of the various coffee beans...this will be heaven for you. The nitro cold brew as they pointed out REALLY bring out the different flavors of the coffee beans. I tend to drink my coffee with some milk and sugar because the taste of the coffee alone is too bitter for me so picked the expresso which tasted delightful. They also have doughnuts from Datz doughnuts of south tampa. I picked the creme brûlée doughnut which has browned sugar coating and a vanilla pudding center. Might not be a good idea to eat the whole thing in one sitting unless you like the sugar coma. ;) super delicious nonetheless. They were $2 off when I ordered it. This place is a great spot to get some work done since they have plenty of seating and free wifi. I think this spot just made it to the top of my list of " study spots in tampa". This location is a coffee shop by day (until about 2pm) then a bar by night (called pour house). The owners of the coffee shop and bar are both fantastic, kind and friendly people. I wish them the best of luck and I will definitely be back to fill out my loyalty card like it's my job. :) read more

The nitro brew coffee is very good. The two owners are really friendly. They'll explain the different brew flavors and let you sample them to help you make your choice. They also rotate some of the brew flavors every few weeks or so, so it's worth coming back again and again to try them all! It's also a very relaxed space to enjoy your coffee, both indoor and outside. And if you need to do some work, there's free WiFi. read more

I live in Channelside and have been meaning to check out this place for awhile now due to the rave reviews here on Yelp. I was not disappointed! It's a super cute space with the best coffee I've had in Tampa. I ordered an espresso with milk that was smooth & delicious. I was lucky enough to grab a Datz donut (Reeses flavor) before they sold out. And most importantly, the service was exceptional! I thought it was pretty cool that they allow dogs inside too. I don't have a dog but I enjoyed petting other people's dogs while I waited for my coffee :) What a great start to my day. I highly recommend GBC! read more

I read about it online and wasn't too sure of what I was missing . A friend encouraged me to visit Friday morning before work and we were greeted by friendly bearded faces who were passionate and knowledgeable about their craft. I sampled all of the on tap nitro brews and settled down with my 12 ounces of liquid gold. It's a really incomparable coffee experience that until now I was unaware of. Now I can't get enough. I have the feeling that I'll fill out my rewards card pretty quickly. The environment is really chill and comfortable complete with people studying, having their morning coffee and donut or just relaxing after the morning rush. I loved it here. I was only in Tampa for a week, but the owners made me feel like I'd been coming here for years. There is a real sense of community, and the owners are the nicest. This place is literally where you go to get a caffeine addiction, no lie. After working literally 5 minutes away from this coffee shop for the past year, I had to come try this place. First off, let's talk about the location. Smack in the middle of Channelside, Ginger Beard is...inside a bar. Yup, you heard that right inside a bar, aka PourHouse. The actual owners are two people with ginger beards. Wonder where they got the name, right? They're super friendly and nice. Since it was my first time going, they guided my through the menu and told me about the different coffee they had on tap. They serve nitro cold coffee, which is apparently cold brewed coffee infused with nitro that's served on tap without ice. Trust me, I had them explain it to me because I was confused when they told me it was on tap. Fair warning though, their coffee have plenty...more than plenty of caffeine in them. I think it's at a one to three ratio, as in one cup of their coffees have three cups worth of caffeine. A real afternoon pick me up! I would definitely give this place a try if you're around. tl;dr - Get ready to check into rehab to try to curb that inner coffee addict that has just now come into fruition. read more
