Coffee was great, considering they offer decaf cold brew which is rare in most places. We loved the coffee. For food I got the chicken shawarma which wasn't good at all. I've probably been here 20+ times since my first review because this has become one of my favorite coffee shops for my sons and me. I honestly went back and forth on whether I needed to update this review, because there's a lot to love about this place. The quality of the food and coffee is consistently great, and the space itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed. That said, I still can't give it 5 stars due to service gaps. There isn't a designated person clearing or wiping tables, so when you're lucky enough to get one, you have to track down someone behind the counter ~ usually in the middle of cashiering or making drinks ~ to ask for it to be cleaned. Also, every single time food is brought out, utensils are never included. I truly like this place and it remains one of my regular spots for breakfast or brunch, and I'll continue coming back. I just hope the owners read these reviews and take this feedback to heart, because with small service improvements, this place could easily be a 5-star experience. read more

Stopped by Shortwave Coffee and loved it. Got an iced coffee and a lemon blueberry muffin, both were really good, and the cost felt pretty average for quality coffee. The space is big and super cute inside, making it a great spot to get some work done or just hang out. The staff is really nice, service is quick, and the coffee quality is consistently solid. I also love that they're always rotating in new syrups and seasonal flavors, so there's always something new to try. We've been here a few times now and it's one of our fav stops when we bike downtown. They have easy access to bike racks and the location is just outside of the busiest areas so it makes it simple to get back on our route. We always get matcha and I love that they continually come up with new recipes and seasonal drinks. It makes it exciting that we get to try something new every time. I usually will get a croissant because we're biking and I'm just trying to get some fuel but some of our other friends have said their food is really good. The croissants are amazing as well; so light, crispy, and fluffy. The service is always very friendly and they pump everything out as quickly as they can. We've gotten served the wrong drink before and they were happy to quickly remake it for us, no questions asked. Another reason I love coming here is all the pups! There is usually at least 2 dogs there at any time and I just love seeing their cute little faces. Not to mention!!!! How gorgeous it is inside! Shortwave is a great stop if you are in the mood for a chill coffee/tea break but make it posh. Last note is that the bathrooms are always spotless! First time at shortwave! Stopped in for some "fuel" before our day at the Florida aquarium. It is conveniently close to the aquarium. It was extremely busy and crowded due to a cruise ship that had either just arrived or was about to depart. Service was still surprisingly fast! This is a cool coffee shop located outside of sparkmans wharf. I came with a friend during working hours to have some coffee and get some work done. It was quite busy on a Wednesday around 11 AM. This establishment is also connected to some apartment buildings so I'm assuming it was also pretty busy because of that. The inside is pretty large and there's plenty of space and tables if you wanted to work or do some schoolwork or just have some coffee I enjoy the ambience. It was very modern and trendy. I've enjoyed many a matcha latte at Shortwave throughout the years! I love the location, right in channelside near Sparkman Wharf, the cruise ships and the aquarium. I typically stop here to get some work done prior to a Pilates class just a couple steps away at Bodyrok. There is a variety of seating available, with plenty of outlets. I enjoy the more lounge-type chairs. They have fabulous lattes and I enjoy their lavender syrup. Notably, they have great decaf espresso, too. Their seasonal drinks are always a hit! This coffee shop is so aesthetic and welcoming! This space is the perfect spot to hang out or get some work done. The location is great too, super convenient and easy to find. The baristas were so kind and really helpful, I got an iced matcha with banana bread syrup (recommendation from the barista) and it was 11/10. Got into Tampa early for a cruise. Wanted something to do within walking distance to the port looked up saw this coffee shop was open. My husband ordered an espresso my sister and I order teas and a sandwich and oatmeal. Everything was well made. Staff was super friendly. We had 2 hours to burn so we were charging our devices. After the first hour I went to order another coffee, the shop is pretty packed at this point and the staff remembered my name from my first order. Visited this weekend with impeccable timing for a cruise to be embarking so they were slammed. I was concerned but they moved along quickly! The jalapeño bagel egg sandwich was good and I really enjoyed my mocha latte and pour over. Decor is cool and plenty of seating. Two private restrooms so expect wait when they are super busy. I have been to shortwave previously and liked my coffee, but I came in today for the Berry Pie Latte and was served it without cold foam. Then I asked where the cold foam was and she said oh sorry let me add it, and she squeezed it in but it was not on top and just clumped inside. She then said the cold foam is in there just not traditional way. I decided to come in on a Tuesday morning to get some work and studying done, and was taken by how much natural light the coffee shop gets! It's very open and lots of beautiful plants arranged around the shop. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and gave some suggestions on what latte to get (they have their seasonal menu). I opted for the peanut butter tahini latte which was superb, very great balance of flavors and not too sweet which is important for me. The vegan breakfast burrito was bursting with flavor and you'd never be able to tell it's vegan! Lots of space to sit and get work done with outlets at most seating areas. I absolutely love trying new coffee shops, and this one was another hit. This is close to Channel side in Tampa Bay area and it's perfect to walk to if you're in that area. The inside was so nice and decorated and open with a good amount of lighting that sets a happy tone. The ladies were super helpful in helping me decide what I wanted to drink, but I normally go for an oat milk lavender latte and this one had a nice flavor to it and delicious. Something I thought was super was the in house bean roasting. It was nice to see the experience firsthand because something like this tends to take place in the back of building/business. I ordered the avocado toast, which was good, but it wasn't the best avocado I've tried; but it's perfect if you want a little something more than just coffee. I really enjoyed this coffee spot! It's very spacious inside and has plenty of seating indoor and outdoor available for people to work or sit and chat. Since it's located downtown, parking can be tough, but you can always park down the street at Sparkman's Wharf like I did and it's a quick 1 minute walk. I got my typical order which is an iced caramel latte, and this was one of the best I've had! The syrups/flavors they use taste homemade, having just a touch of sweetness but not overpowering. This has been my favorite coffee find so far in the Tampa area. They have an aesthetic interior and the lay out is perfect for either studying or talking with friends. You're not crammed right next to someone so it's not awkward to talk and I love it. My favorite thing about this place is their drink options. We visited here for a conference to get a nice coffee shop vibe. The aesthetics are beautiful. The coffee is pretty good and strong. The almond croissant was perfect flaky, flavorful and sweet. The oatmeal was extremely good not too thick just right and the toppings were perfection. There were a few issues with our order we never received one of our sandwiches and had to remind them several times I didn't even take a picture of it because she didn't like it when she received it customer service was a little cold and not very attentive. My husband and I try to support local establishments and walked about a half mile past multiple Starbucks to try Shortwave Coffee. I love the logo and their tag line used on merch "receive and transmit" as it relates to receiving coffee and transmitting work. On brand, fun and energizing. The ambience was very much a collaborative young people working space with great vibes and low-fi type music. I'd wished I'd brought my computer with me to join in. Good customer service from the young ladies working there. We ordered a double shot iced latte, one vanilla and one caramel. Not sure if we're just cracked out on coffee regularly but they didn't seem quite strong enough for our taste, even with a double shot unless they forgot the second shot which could have also happened. Great little cafe located right outside of the cruise port in Tampa. Very busy when I came in since it seemed like a lot of travelers were waiting around before setting sail in their cruises. Had to park a little far because of how busy it is in the area but parking on the street is available. I ordered a delicious pumpkin hazelnut latte and a vegan burrito. I really enjoyed the food. The burrito was very tasty. The coffee was also good, I wish I could get a refill of that drink! Tried out Shortwave Coffee the morning after gasparilla. My avocado toast was so fire but not worth a 30 minute hungover wait (and it wasn't even busy so that was an L.) Gracie said her bagel was not that great but she's a tough critic. Sydney and Mo enjoyed theirs. The coffee was really good, so if l'm in the area l'd return for a cup of joe. A great coffee spot to work from in Tampa. This biz is near Sparkman Wharf with a parking lot relatively close to it which is ideal for parking. The inside is spacious with high ceilings and a lot of open, natural light which is my favorite kind of setting for getting some work done, which is exactly what I was in town to do! I ordered an iced matcha (of course) and it did not disappoint. If I finish my drink, it's usually an indicator if it was good and I finished mine here. There's tables all around and a big community table in the center with a lot of outlets to make it easy to charge your electronics. This afternoon, my colleague and I opted to take our virtual meeting offline and meet up at Shortwave Coffee instead. There was plenty of seating with table space for our laptops, and it remained so quiet and comfortable that we decided to work the rest of our afternoon there. I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk, and they allowed me to get it without the usual vanilla sweetener. It was delicious and their matcha tasted amazing. My colleague got the iced chai, and it looked so good, I think I'll try that the next time. I was looking for a new coffee shop opened late. Shortwave had hours until 8 so I decided to check them out. I love space and decors. It is bright and airy in the coffee shop. There is plenty of seating and most tables had outlets which is super helpful for charging devices. I ordered an orange spice latte with almond mill one of the seasonal drinks. My partner ordered an iced matcha latte. We both enjoyed our drinks! My drink came in a large mug with a saucer which was adorable. My partner said his matcha was smooth and the flavors well balanced. We both would order our drinks again. I stayed to do work and liked the environment. There were many other people doing work too. I will give visitors a heads up about parking. Shortwave does not have a parking lot and street parking is scarce. You will probably pay for parking in a public across the street or at Sparkman's Wharf. Not a deal breaker for everyone but it can be for some. Shortwave has become my "treat" coffee shop to work at, because it's a bit of a trek, inconvenient for parking (all paid + meter), and always busy... but I love it. I typically park in the Sparkman lot, which I think is the most affordable option during the day. Shortwave is a good size with lots of seating and beautiful natural light coming in. In the middle, there's this large roaster that I thought was just for decor (lol) but I saw the staff using it for something this last time I was there! I ordered the Mint Mayday this time, which I'd had my eye on for awhile. And wow, this thing is sweet, but delicious. It was so sweet that I couldn't finish it, but I really loved the mint and of course, the presentation of the drink! I probably won't order it again because they have so many other fun latte flavors, but it was a win for sure. Absolutely love the interior. Modern, bright, and inviting. The set up is great, as others have mentioned. There's plenty of seating and it's quiet enough to read/study if needed. I wouldn't get it again but glad I tried it. The chai flavor comes through, moist in the center, and presented beautifully. Just depends on your mood. I heard the sweet honey and almond croissants are yummy. Parking is difficult as it's on water street. But there are parking garages nearby. My party stalled at the port after making a wrong turn.
