Popped into Buddy Brew for myself and a few friends. They have a pretty good menu with a variety of options. There were only two people working (one for the first 10 minutes we were there) so service was a little slow when they had a line. Drinks were great though, very tasty. My boyfriend and I are in Tampa for the week and wanted to try a local coffee place instead of Starbucks. We got the cold brew float and iced latte with mocha, and the bacon biscuit and The TBR to eat. The float was good and the iced latte was just ok. The food was unfortunately underwhelming. My bacon biscuit was supposed to come with a side a fruit but it wasn't included. We didn't realize it was left out until we got back to our hotel. The TBR had only 1 small piece of turkey breast and didn't look anything like the picture shown online. Both sandwiches were good but nothing special. The drinks and food came out to around $35. I don't think the iced latte or the sandwiches are worth the price. I love the decor. It's trendy and modern. The staff was really nice. I'd maybe give Buddy Brew another chance if we were local. read more

The Americano here was alright, but we particularly liked the Bucco Bruce which has rich dairy along with a nice zing from the citrus. We found ourselves back here multiple times during our visit and wished there were Buddy Brews in our part of the US. I'm in Tampa while my husband takes the Bar exam and I went on the hunt for a cozy place to work remotely. Stumbled upon buddy brew which was a short walk from the hotel, and instantly fell in love. The food is delicious, coffee is great, and the wifi is premium. Working remote has been a breeze, works even better than the wifi from hotel. And the turkey sandwich with the sriracha aioli is something I'll think about constantly. One of the better lavender lattes I've ever had as well. Look, when it comes to coffee, there is amazing, great, good, bad, undrinkable, this location of Buddy Brew falls into the rare category of undrinkable. I'm not even trying to be a jerk, the ambiance is nice and modern, but I kid you not when I say I took one sip and I thought I drank coffee doo doo from when my dog accidentally got into my old coffee grounds. We got two drinks, a cortado and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was worse than when I let my 3 year old nephew use my nespresso. Suffice to say it tasted like the barista did not know how to work the machine. A general lack in understanding how to grind coffee and steam milk. The espresso was bitter and no crema and the milk was burnt so badly it left me making this face :/ over and over. The cortado? Tasted like feet no milk at all. Did they use the foam from left over dishwater? Do yourself a favor skip this place all together and go to Starbucks. Total waste of a good location and ambiance. read more

I had picked up a Cuban sandwich at a nearby location, another restaurant altogether, and I needed a really good coffee to complement this gourmet experience. Having a long relationship with Buddy Brew, and being close by, I had to stop by and check out this location in downtown. And what can I say? Awesome, state of the art facility, gorgeous architecture and design in the middle of a very modern downtown area. There are nice sleek sofas that match the long minimalist coffee bar and the coffee house is very quiet. Loved the Zen in this amazing space. I've been following Buddy Brew for quite a while, I think at one point they had a Buddy Brew truck that drove around Tampa and sold coffee. I have also visited several of their locations, including the one in Sarasota/Bradenton. It all started for me when they gave me a free bag of coffee. What a freebie can do for your business is unimaginable. A few years later, Buddy Brew is one of my favorite coffee houses in Florida and the USA. They are definitively one of the top roasters in the nation. read more

This coffee shop is located in the middle of a busy city, with offices surrounding it and the bustle of cars and people and of course the Florida humidity. It is my new go-to spot for coffee. I can't go into another coffeeshop without missing Buddy Brew. Their espresso-based drinks are the bomb, especially for those who love strong European or Cuban coffee and not the typical American water-downed type of brew. I had a cortado at their Oxford exchange location and it was delicious. I also have had a couple of lattes (plain and vanilla) at their Downtown location. The lattes are the best I've ever had, and it's great that they have different milk (whole, 2%, nonfat, oat, soy, almond) and syrup (vanilla, mocha, caramel) options. They make their syrups in-house! I've only tried their vanilla syrup in my latte so far, and it was a refreshing addition. It wasn't too sweet and was just right with a natural vanilla and sugar cane flavor. Buddy brew is my absolute favorite coffee. I have visited Oxford exchange and Kennedy location and Hyde perk and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. I get their coffee to make at home as well as double dog for my espresso. My first time here and I'm disappointed. It's easy to find so Park in the street. It took soooo much time to be acknowledged, that's first, they're soo slow. There were three people when I got there and somehow one disappeared and the two took forever to make two drinks. I am writing this review since I had the most amazing cup of tea this morning and it was obvious to me the staff has no idea about their product. I am a tea drinker not coffee so appreciate a good cup of tea. I understand their coffee is fabulous but this tea is quite amazing. When I arrived this morning i asked a few questions about their tea which appeared no one could answer except for one person who was busy. I had no idea that they have these amazing teas or process to steep their tea since this is my first visit. I am usually working in Texas during the week. It was 10am so it was not prime time and it would have been helpful (and fun) to hear about their special teas, about their amazing food selection & what makes them special and let me know what goes into preparing my tea which helps in it being fabulous. As i waited for my tea to be made, i checked in on yelp and to my excitement they offer a gift card. None of the staff understood what it meant so they could not honor it. My recommendation is to have great patience, not to expect the staff to be fully trained on their offerings yet they are very nice people and if you have any questions wait for the manager to return. I travel to TPA occasionally and stay downtown, it was great to see another sign of normal life: Buddy Brew Park Tower is OPEN again! They are gaging demand and trying to figure out what hours will work. In the meanwhile, this great coffee shop is serving up what you need. Me? Today? Giant oat milk latte Avo toast (Some socks as a gift for a friend with feet) The coffee and toast were excellent and the staff was friendly, skilled, professional. The vibe is fun and chill. Coffee is the best in town, its so tasty black I crave it! Last time I tried to come to this location it was closed so I think they are ramping back up after COVID slowdown. I was in Tampa for a few days and Buddy Brew was my go to coffee spot of choice to work from. They have a few tables and free WiFi, but we're never overly business to make my "WFH" experience annoying. They also had charging stations and power outlets along the seating wall for extra convenience. The coffee was also delicious. Each day I opted for the caramel iced latte with nonfat milk. It was creamy and delicious. One day I even got one of their donuts which was indulgent to say the least. Very good! This is a really nice new Buddy Brew location...it looks like something you would see in a big city like SF or NYC. The prices are about what you would expect for a Buddy Brew. I am not sure what the trend is but Buddy Brew locations and even Caffeine in SoHo serve espresso with grassy notes. I think its something very popular with American coffee drinkers, which is good were in America but if you are Cuban or Latin this coffee likely wont have that deep roasted flavor you are searching for. The location is super convenient and the staff is incredible, i just wish i liked the coffee. Luckily for me Moxies and Spain are basically next door to it and have coffee for more of Latin / European tastebuds. read more

Wonderful little stop for those who are gluten free. Most of the time I stare sadly at pastry cases, but here I was pleasantly surprised by a selection of gluten free doughnuts! Another "coffee shop" that pretends to understand how to make good coffee. I don't know why they make their milk so hot in a latte but if it's above 160°, you lose all of the complexity of the coffee, the sweetness of the milk and you just burn your mouth. Wow! Thrilled with Buddy Brew. I'm from Texas and in Tampa this weekend for a conference. I'm a huge coffee lover and have very high expectations for coffee houses and roasters; typically I'm disappointed when I visit an unfamiliar shop, especially in a new city. The location at Park Tower is within walking distance of most major downtown points of interest. It's clean, modern, and a great place to meet a friend or get some work done. I was greeted by Clark, who was pleasant, helpful, and did a great job explaining the various available roasts to me (I wanted a pour over). I loved the atmosphere and my interactions with the staff. The coffee... amazing. They roast all of their own beans. For starters, my pour over was served in a Kalita glass server and contained a generous helping of brew; I think I filled my coffee cup four times. As for the coffee itself, I went with the Old Florida, a lighter roast with citrus notes. I'm typically a fan of darker coffee, but Clark had talked me into the Old Florida, and I wasn't disappointed. It was aromatic, delicious, and balanced. I plan to come back and try some of their other roasts before leaving town on Sunday. Absolutely nothing I would've changed about this morning's visit. Completely happy. It was alright. The coffee was fine. The service was not great. They forgot to make my coffee for 10 minutes until I walked up and asked. I was the only person in the shop at the time so they were not busy. All of the pastries were burnt, so I tried to pick the best option- still very burnt, croissants should not be so crunchy that you can barely eat it. The only fruit they could offer was strawberries, which is fine I suppose because I like those, but still not much of a variety. I guess I expected more and received a subpar experience. read more
