not sure why this place only has 3.6 stars; came here for the first time after i noticed it when i went to truffle poke 2 doors down. me and fiancé decided to try it and will not start coming here more often! We got the schezuan dinner for 2 and boy was it filling! Along with our pictures provided, we got the hot and sour soup, which was the perfect amount for the both of us. We came on a Tuesday afternoon, not busy at all, service was quick; even the food came out quick and hot! It was a good amount of food for 2, the employees were all very kind as well. 10/10 would come here again!

Was in the Belmont area and stopped by for a quick lunch - restaurant was decently filled, and service was nice. Food is good for the most part, but as a Chinese myself, this place cooks more towards American style Chinese food. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but it's also one of the better American Chinese food I've had. I think the kind and attentive service they gave to us and other patrons while I was here really elevates them - very nice atmosphere to be in for the locals!

Gin Mon serves really good American Chinese food. It's not authentic, but it is delicious and the service is good. The prices are also super reasonable for the area.

    Pot stickers - delicious!

This establishment has been in Belmont for 30+ years. My husband and I visited for dinner on a Saturday night. The interior is cosy and comfortable, and we were welcomed with efficient service. Beware that the servings are huge! My favorite dish was the chicken lettuce wraps and pot stickers. The chow mein looked amazing. I would describe the food is tailored to the American palate, and served with forks. Happy to support a local business!

Good food, amazing service, wonderful staff. We don't live nearby but we always stop here when we're in the area.

weeknight dinner with the daughter...located next to lunardi's market in the same strip mall...first-time visit and noticing a few customers dining...seated right away and menu provided...the kid wanted what every kid likes, sweet and sour chicken $14.50....adding rice $2.75 per order...cold evening, so getting some wor wonton soup $12.25...sweet and sour chicken was a bright neon red...tasted as expected and daughter enjoyed...wor wonton soup had a little of everything...lot of meats, vegetables and dumplings...dumplings looked like little brains, so daughter nicknamed the restaurant as "bloody chicken with brains"...prices are reasonable with a typical menu...

Honey Walnut Prawns. Delicious and not over mayo-y.

Recently I stopped to pick-up dinner with the plan to have leftovers. I called my order in and was quoted 40 minutes for my order to be ready. My order consisted of salted fish and chicken fried rice (this location has the best around SF and the peninsula), bitter melon beef, chicken chow mein, Thai style fried vermicelli (my favorite dish here), salt and pepper chicken wings. We also received a complimentary bbq pork fried rice. Everything was fantastic and we had plenty of leftovers for a few days.

Big won ton filled w pork and shrimp. Bok choy Broth not much flavor, in a separate container since this was a take-home order. Curry Beef Stew I've never had Curry beef stew before, prefer chicken, curry, but for some odd reason, I decided to order this dish. It was underwhelming and I won't order it again. The Curry sauce itself was OK but the big long pieces of beef were somewhat gross, lots of fat. They added plenty of slices to onions and a few pieces of green pepper and Julienned carrots, but that's about it for being called a stew. So I learned my lesson by not sticking to my usual order, and won't order wonton soup or curry beef stew again.

It's eh, kinda priced up though for sure…read more My go to is a baked dish. The quality kinda varies- the baked fish fillet with white cream sauce was good. Cheesy, tender, egg fried rice was flavorful. Portion kinda small, as the dish was very shallow. Not a lot of rice. Kinda off tho when it was the first dish that arrived to the table and it was lukewarm. I find a baked dish is typically always last since it needs time to bake, and is served scalding hot imo. That's when you know it's done right. This wasn't that. Suss The baked pork chop with cheese and tomato sauce was so disappointing and super greasy/heavy. The meat was chewy and had an unpleasant flavor. The tomato sauce was not good either. The shrimp wonton noodle soup I sadly cannot recommend, the filling was not good. Had more pork than shrimp consistency. I did not enjoy the flavor. Not aromatic. I will say, the noodles were great quality. Thin, bouncy, correct texture. What you would hope for. The soup was not good. The roast duck was good, with tender meat and fatty skin. Flavorful with the plum sauce. The fish congee was good, though a bit too runny imo once cooled down. The fried donut (you tiao) was crunchy and very doughy. Would be nice if they could slice it. I can agree with everyone about their thoughts on the 18% mandatory tip fee, it's crazy lol. Mandatory service fee for hk service (which is minimal service). It was so hard to flag down the waiter for refilling water, or to get more napkins. The place was empty and they were on their phone the whole time. Waiting for that automatic tip. Whatever man.

Hit or Miss: Slight Hit. Would drink it again if I was already there, but not something I'd specifically crave. Additional Comment: Overall, pretty solid experience. Nothing was mind blowing, but everything was done well. The baked spaghetti was definitely the highlight for me and the service helped make the meal enjoyable. My server/waiter was an older gentleman. He offered me a table by the window. The table setting was very thoughtful. They offer chopsticks, but there's also a fork and knife wrapped in a red cloth napkin. They gave me ice water, but I also asked for hot tea. King Chuan has a detailed menu, with several dishes having a brief description. I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup. I asked for dark meat chicken only. They said "no problem." The Wor Won Ton Soup was very good. The soup had napa cabbage, carrots and broccoli. The chicken was tender and easy to eat. It also had pieces of beef and a few shrimp. The broth was light, and not salty. I also ordered the "Hot Dragon Chicken Wings." With a name like that, I expected very spicy wings. The wings were not spicy at all. In fact, I had to add salt to bring the flavor out. I was puzzled as to why these fried chicken wings have a mild flavor if they're served with spicy seasonings. I guess I was expecting something else. Overall, a nice experience. The bean paste chicken was also tasty, with fresh vegetables and tender chicken, but again there was a heavy pool of sauce at the bottom of the container. Cutting back on the sauce a bit would make both dishes even better. Overall, the food was flavorful, portions were solid, and the prices are hard to beat. Or really any quality takeout of any kind. $90 order, ranging from dumplings to basic entrees to rice. Everything was off - slopped together, underseasoned, lazy vegetable chopping (and questionable) choices of vegetable ingredients. No Wok fire/heat evident in any of the entree's and everything was a gluey, flavorless mess. The noodles for the Lo Mein seemed honestly just spaghetti. The orange chicken was dry/old, almost no breading, and honestly didn't taste orangey at all. The kung pao looked like what my 7 year old could have made (when we was seven). More like boiled chicken topped with raw Safeway vegetables, whole peanuts, and a soupy cornstarch soy sauce afterthought. The kicker was they do not have any house made sauces, so if you want good mustard or something edible for dipping - welcome to shitty packet hell as they refused to provide those (if they existed). I'm curious what they do when you're in-house but if I''m paying for the same food I'm not sure why I wouldn't get something besides high-fructose corn syrup garbage stamped out in a factory two years ago. This reflects lack of care to the product and customer experience. Highly unfortunate for an establishment that used to be "decent" as I said.
