    Woodear mushrooms and cucumber

Friendly and quick service. The woodear mushroom and cucumbers were very garlicky. Both the lamb and pork and chives dumplings arrived hot with good flavor. The soup of the beef tendon and noodles was a bit bland but the tendon was soft and hubs enjoyed the bowl after doctoring it up some.

Very casual and chill inside. The waiter was nice. The pork dumplings were my favorite dish. I love the dumpling wrapper and the meat and veggies inside were flavorful. The soup dumplings were good but they did not have ginger on the side which was disappointing because that is a must have when eating soup dumplings. The Beijing Noodles were underwhelming. Lacked a lot of flavor. I enjoyed the addition of bean curds in this dish though. The bean curd sticks had inconsistent texture and flavor. Some pieces were too soft and bland inside while other pieces were perfectly cooked with even spread of flavor.

Delicious dumplings! The coconut lava balls were delicious as well and not too sweet! Cucumber salad was the best I've had in recent memory, we were sat immediately around 6:30 pm on a Thursday as well. The place is small but cozy, two rooms of seating. Service was quick and food was hot! Overall great experience, would recommend for dumplings!

We arrived about half an hour prior to closing of lunch and we got a bit of attitude. We made sure whether or not it was okay to dine in, otherwise we would've had no problem eating elsewhere. We ordered quickly and paid the bill before their closing time but felt a vibe still. Moving along to the food! The soup dumplings were pretty good, it was flavorful but didn't have a lot of soup inside. The noodles were delicious but the quantity of noodles in each bowl were a bit underwhelming. I get that it's not favorable to arrive right before closing, but I feel like it's okay to be up front that you can't serve us or maybe telling us we can only take out instead but don't say it's okay to dine in but give attitude to your customers.

My colleague and I were in the area and stopped in for lunch. The restaurant was pretty much empty for it being 1:30 in the afternoon. We both wanted something light but filling. So we came here, the host/sever wasn't welcoming but wasn't rude either. He just didn't seem happy to be working. The chef who brought us one of our dishes was more friendly. Asked my colleague if she needed a fork and checked in on us when other dishes were brought to us. The chow mein was a little greasy for liking but had good flavor, veggie egg rolls had a great crisp, and both dumplings were good, definitely had the homemade taste. Not bad for a while in wall.... Work on service with a smile....

Delicious, family-run restaurant, with fast and practical service. Overall, quite simple, the food comes out quickly, but it's hot and fresh. I've been here twice now, and enjoyed the soup dumplings, and the chicken and chives dumplings, and the tofu as well. Everything was delicious and the prices are really quite reasonable and affordable for people of all income levels, which I appreciated the most. It makes it a great option for a lowkey first date! Therefore, I highly recommend getting takeout, or just coming in for a dine in. And afterwards, you can stroll through downtown Redwood City and enjoy the rest of your evening. :)

This restaurant is a pretty decent hole in the wall. I treated my godson for some dumplings, since he was craving dumplings. I was surprised at how many pieces you get per 1 order, which is 12 pieces! The chicken corn dumplings had nice flavor, the pork and shrimp dumplings my godson ate, he also enjoyed! Careful when you bite into it, it's piping hot! The egg fried rice was delicious. I didn't want to order more than what we had because it was a lot of food for two people already. Located on Broadway next to the barber shop, street parking you can easily find or there's a parking lot around the corner across from the Caltrain. There's plenty of indoor seating available. They also provide take-out. We didn't wait long for our food and service was good! I would be a returning customer :)

Basic home style food with no frills ambiance, hole in the wall, family business. Stumbled upon this place as we wanted a quick snack at 3 in the afternoon. Reasonably priced, limited menu, fresh ingredients. Flavor could be more intense, however adding the chili + soy sauce works. Will be back to try a few more dishes. Note, parking is a challenge and the cost is $1/hr with metering hours from 8-8.

cheap and good Okay nothing mind blowing but the food here is cheap and good. All the dishes are small so you can get to try a lot of things. Service is fast. Everything is fairly vanilla and nothing really stood out but they got a lot of classics. They didn't have any fu qi fei pian surprisingly but they did have beef tendon which was a good substitute

A cute small restaurant. The price is fair and the food is authentic. It's near downtown redwood city and parking space is not too many.

I also ordered the Mongolian beef, which was flavorful and made with good-quality beef that wasn't fatty. My only complaint was the amount of sauce--it was very thick and oily, and enough leaked out of the to-go container to make a mess. The bean paste chicken was also tasty, with fresh vegetables and tender chicken, but again there was a heavy pool of sauce at the bottom of the container. Cutting back on the sauce a bit would make both dishes even better. Overall, the food was flavorful, portions were solid, and the prices are hard to beat. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Or really any quality takeout of any kind. $90 order, ranging from dumplings to basic entrees to rice. Everything was off - slopped together, underseasoned, lazy vegetable chopping (and questionable) choices of vegetable ingredients. No Wok fire/heat evident in any of the entree's and everything was a gluey, flavorless mess. The noodles for the Lo Mein seemed honestly just spaghetti. The orange chicken was dry/old, almost no breading, and honestly didn't taste orangey at all. The kung pao looked like what my 7 year old could have made (when we was seven). More like boiled chicken topped with raw Safeway vegetables, whole peanuts, and a soupy cornstarch soy sauce afterthought. The kicker was they do not have any house made sauces, so if you want good mustard or something edible for dipping - welcome to shitty packet hell as they refused to provide those (if they existed). I'm curious what they do when you're in-house but if I''m paying for the same food I'm not sure why I wouldn't get something besides high-fructose corn syrup garbage stamped out in a factory two years ago. This reflects lack of care to the product and customer experience. Highly unfortunate for an establishment that used to be "decent" as I said.

I ordered the Stir Fry Basil Chicken Bento and was immediately impressed by how much you get. The portion is generous, especially for the price! It was loaded with protein and served with two different vegetable sides and a hard boiled egg. It feels like a complete, well-rounded meal rather than the sad, sparse bentos you sometimes end up with. The basil chicken itself was the star cause it was juicy, aromatic, and had just the right kick on mild. If you have any heat tolerance at all, I'd say go mild without hesitation. It's flavorful without being overwhelming. Ordering is super easy through a kiosk, my food was ready in about 8 minutes, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The whole experience was smooth from start to finish. I'll definitely be back to work through more of the menu. Let me say this place is an EASY…read morefive stars but since I've been a lot of times I have noticed some things that could be better. That said, I'll talk about the good things first. Pretty much everything on the menu is good here. If there's something that sounds interesting, get it. If you've been curious about spaghetti dishes at southern Chinese restaurants, get one. The General's Chicken is actually insanely good here, like the best lunch special I know anywhere, and it's General's Chicken. Hainan chicken, salt and pepper spare ribs, rice clay pots, eggplant dishes, and even Chinese curry are items I commonly see ordered around me. The tofu seafood claypot is fantastic. Pretty sure they have Peking spareribs and they were great iirc. The chow fun dishes are only good, not super exceptional, you rarely see people order them. Alright the few things I've noticed that could be improved have all happened when I come closer to closing than opening. I've had a couple times where the tea kettle was still soapy, so the tea tasted awful. Their kettles keep the tea piping hot for the whole meal, so maybe that makes them hard to clean. But I've also had the tea come not very hot. They don't like giving you water and tea, some Chinese service lol. And for some reason, the food has also been a bit worse when I came later too Space is small and it can be crowded, especially on weekends. Come early for the best experience

We also decided to try a couple of things we had never ordered before after seeing other tables enjoy them. The beef chow fun looked amazing when we saw someone else order it, so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. The noodles were on the dry side and lacked the flavorful wok hei and savory taste that I usually look for in a good beef chow fun. It was just missing that something special. We also ordered the Chinese chicken salad because we wanted something lighter to balance out the meal. I was expecting the traditional shredded chicken with lettuce, but instead it came with thin tortilla-style chips underneath. That really changed the whole feel of the dish for me. I was hoping for a refreshing salad, but the chips made it feel more greasy, and the mustard oil dressing was not really my preference. The chicken was also a little dry. I probably would not order this again. The good news is the salt and pepper spare ribs were still delicious, just like we expected. They remain one of our favorites here. Overall, I would stick with the dishes we already know and love and skip the beef chow fun and chicken salad next time.
