A cute small restaurant. The price is fair and the food is authentic. It's near downtown redwood city and parking space is not too many.

Looks like prices have gone up since I last visited. About $12 for 12 dumplings. I think the dumplings taste a lot better than their noodle dishes and side dishes, which I guess makes sense since they specialize in dumplings. I'd just get the dumplings next time. They also sell frozen dumplings that you can buy to take home- $15 for 20. read more

A quick pick from yelp on my way to my union meeting. It's a small cozy restaurant. My friend and I decided to sit in because I knew that food will be quick and delicious. Delicious it was. We shared the pork dumpling with napa cabbage. I got the beef Beijing noodles. The noodles looks like it's made fresh and it's not seasoned. It gets its flavors then the beef. I had left overs the next day and the noodles soaks up the beef flavors. My friend got the soup. She said that the noodles went well with the soup. I would definitely come back and try their soup dumplings and other things on their menu. read more

Very casual and chill inside. The waiter was nice. The pork dumplings were my favorite dish. I love the dumpling wrapper and the meat and veggies inside were flavorful. The soup dumplings were good but they did not have ginger on the side which was disappointing because that is a must have when eating soup dumplings. The Beijing Noodles were underwhelming. Delicious dumplings! The coconut lava balls were delicious as well and not too sweet! Cucumber salad was the best I've had in recent memory, we were sat immediately around 6:30 pm on a Thursday as well. The place is small but cozy, two rooms of seating. Really good and authentic Chinese restaurant, specializing in dumplings, wontons, potstickers, soups, and noodles. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Service is fast and very pleasant. We arrived about half an hour prior to closing of lunch and we got a bit of attitude. We made sure whether or not it was okay to dine in, otherwise we would've had no problem eating elsewhere. We ordered quickly and paid the bill before their closing time but felt a vibe still. Moving along to the food! The soup dumplings were pretty good, it was flavorful but didn't have a lot of soup inside. The noodles were delicious but the quantity of noodles in each bowl were a bit underwhelming. I get that it's not favorable to arrive right before closing, but I feel like it's okay to be up front that you can't serve us or maybe telling us we can only take out instead but don't say it's okay to dine in but give attitude to your customers. read more

We had a late lunch and ordered 2 items plus a coke. First we had 12 piece pork, chive , and shrimp dumpling. They were served steaming hot but without any sauces. The three sauces available were on the table, wine vinegar, soy sauce, and chili sauce. We tried the wine vinegar and it was just OK. The dumplings were a little bland and lacked the freshness taste. Maybe they had been frozen. Next we had the pot stickers which again were served hot, but unfortunately they too were not very flavorful and lacked the taste of freshness that we enjoy with dumplings or pot stickers. Not the best we have had but,OK. Service was barely minimal and had to getup and ask for forks and bill. No one was in restaurant at the time so we had restaurant to ourselves. read more

Was there a few days ago for lunch. Ordered pork and pickled noodle soup. The noodle soup was very bland. Also ordered the tofu sticks with celery as an appetizer. It seems they only put sesame oil on it, but nothing else and it was watery and very few pieces of celery. Ordered the soup dumplings. It was not hot enough. It was lukewarm. My colleague and I were in the area and stopped in for lunch. The restaurant was pretty much empty for it being 1:30 in the afternoon. We both wanted something light but filling. So we came here, the host/sever wasn't welcoming but wasn't rude either. He just didn't seem happy to be working. The chef who brought us one of our dishes was more friendly. Asked my colleague if she needed a fork and checked in on us when other dishes were brought to us. The chow mein was a little greasy for liking but had good flavor, veggie egg rolls had a great crisp, and both dumplings were good, definitely had the homemade taste. Not bad for a while in wall.... I went back again to try the dine in experiance ordered both veggie and pork potstickers they were so tasty. Chicken fried rice and chicken chow mein, deep fried green beans and another bowl of wonton soup to complete the meal. All the dishes was exceptional, the service was great and friendly staff. A gentleman with his family told me the place was exceptional while we waited outside to open for dinner service. After we finished our meal his family asked what I thought and I told them I was blown away by the food, flavor, service and we were convinced at that moment we had found a new goto spot in RWC for Taiwan style cuisine. Delicious, family-run restaurant, with fast and practical service. Overall, quite simple, the food comes out quickly, but it's hot and fresh. I've been here twice now, and enjoyed the soup dumplings, and the chicken and chives dumplings, and the tofu as well. Everything was delicious and the prices are really quite reasonable and affordable for people of all income levels, which I appreciated the most. It makes it a great option for a lowkey first date! Therefore, I highly recommend getting takeout, or just coming in for a dine in. And afterwards, you can stroll through downtown Redwood City and enjoy the rest of your evening. :) read more

This restaurant is a pretty decent hole in the wall. I treated my godson for some dumplings, since he was craving dumplings. I was surprised at how many pieces you get per 1 order, which is 12 pieces! The chicken corn dumplings had nice flavor, the pork and shrimp dumplings my godson ate, he also enjoyed! Careful when you bite into it, it's piping hot! The egg fried rice was delicious. I didn't want to order more than what we had because it was a lot of food for two people already. Located on Broadway next to the barber shop, street parking you can easily find or there's a parking lot around the corner across from the Caltrain. There's plenty of indoor seating available. Chicken pieces were plentiful but not super tasty to me. Pork, shrimp and chive dumplings were the highlight and very good! Very authentic, very flavorful. Came here for lunch on Sunday; walked in around 1pm and the place was decently full. We ordered the Beijing noodle (4/10: noodles were too soggy and the dish was overall pretty flavorless), the beef stew noodle soup (8/10: soup was good but noodles were also too soft), the pork and shrimp dumplings (7/10: not bad, a bit pricey), and the xiao long bao (6/10: way too dough-y at the top of the dumplings). I came here with my cousins after furniture shopping. I heard about this place from my friend and it's actually located at the end of the street and parking was ok. We only got a few items but we made sure to get the lamb dumplings. We also got the shanghai dumplings, chicken and corn dumplings, Beef stew noodle soup and beijing noodles. I think the noodles are made in house, as it tasted really fresh. The beef stew was tender and the soup was just simmered with all the flavors of it. The Beijing noodles was ok, it was just more noodles than sauce but i liked how they diced up the cucumbers and onions. The shanghai dumplings were tasty and had a lot of soup inside, however, the winner was the lamb dumplings. This literally will melt in your mouth. I wish i had my own plate of this as i can finish it all without sharing. It completely overshadowed the chicken and corn dumplings. I will return just for the lamb dumplings! read more

A great little hole-in-the-wall for home style Chinese food. Their dumplings are simple, tasty, and very reasonably priced (most flavors are $9.95 for an order of 12). We tried the pork and chive, pork and cilantro, pork and napa, pork and shrimp and chive, and a vegetarian one just for the hell of it. I love how the wrappers are a little thicker and doughier; you know they're making their own wrappers and they taste exactly like my mom's dumplings. The only ones I would pass on again are the pork and shrimp ones (I couldn't taste enough difference between those and the just pork and chive so it wasn't worth the $3 price difference to add shrimp) and the vegetable ones (you just need some meat for the right filling texture). We also ordered the chive pancake and the xiao long bao. The pancake was ok, but the wrappers on the XLB were way too thick (almost as thick as the dumpling wrappers) and the inside not juicy enough. I wouldn't order either of those again, but don't sleep on their dumplings! read more

But the food was amazing! I'm writing this while rubbing my tummy in fullness from the wonderful dishes we got. So we got the following: Beijing Noodles Crushed Cucumbers Beef Tendons Beef Pancake Chicken and Corn Dumplings Sesame seed balls Everything was delicious. The noodles were perfectly meaty, chewy yet not too heavy noodles. Everything on top of it was bonus! We will definitely be back. It's a no frills divey place with very good food. We stopped by for dinner a couple weeks ago. It's in Redwood City downtown area, so pretty easy to find parking after 6 pm. The food here was delicious(for most part) and fresh. We ordered pork and chicken potstickers, dumplings, a veggie tofu dish and veggie potstickers. Compared to the price of everything else on the menu, vegetarian food costs more than meat but it is still better priced than most Bay Area exorbitantly priced restaurants. My only complaint is that vegetarian potstickers were not good at all. It was doughy and flavorless. People are nice and the service is quick. Definitely recommend trying this place. A solid 2.5 star restaurant. Bumping it up because of the price point. XLB ($5.95)- for this price, I shouldn't complain. If it was set at a regular price, I would say the dough was too thick, not juicy and the meat was tough. Beef tendon noodle soup ($12.95)- pleasantly surprised by the amount of flavorful tendered beef tendons and the al dente noodle. Best of all, they included a few pieces of dried fungus. Taiwanese chicken nuggets bento box ($12.35)- the nuggets were marinated too sweet to my liking. Lack the salt and pepper coatings as the traditional Taiwanese chicken nuggets would have. The side vegetables were served cold and I like my food piping hot. Pan fried chive pancake ($7.95)- the fillings (tasted bland) were cold inside but the outer shell was hot and crispy.
