I made an appointment online due to my check engine light being on. I got a text confirming my appointment, including the reason for the appointment. I showed up and was told that the mechanic who does the diagnostics was off and they could not check my vehicle. I went to O'Reilly and had them run the diagnostic & was told that the thermostat needed to be replaced. I went back to Point S & was told they don't replace thermostats. No sorry, no recommendation on another place to go--I am from out of town, nothing. I called Midas, got a same day appointment & the work was done in no time. Four years ago I got my tires at Point S and was happy with them. I needed new tires recently and called around to get some prices. I was shocked when I got a price from Point S. I ended up getting Nokian G5 tires (same tires & Hazard Warranty package that I had Point S quote). Point S was $380 more than Central Tire on NE 3rd Street for the same tire & road hazard warranty. I need a new sensor for my tire last month and Point S charged me $65. for one tire sensor. Central Tire charged me $45 for a tire sensor. I'm glad I called around for prices! read more

I made an appointment online six days ago. 70 minutes before the appointment as I was heading out the door with my coffee they called to let me know the tech had been and will be on vacation. They tried to blame it on their computer system when the real blame is on their lack of screening and planning. Anybody with the briefest amount of training can look at scheduling software and verify it against available labor. They didn't care. I took a day off for this nonsense. Management/owner can't even be bothered to spend 2 minutes over the course of six days to check on appointments vs tech availability. I'm a professional mechanic myself and this lack of attention to detail is alarming. Since checking up on their own scheduling software they literally provide access to on their own website is just way too hard for them I would not trust them to properly zip up after using the bathroom let alone work on my car. read more

We were visiting Bend in a rental car and our tire pressure alert signal came on. Three tires were overinflated and one had a leak. Our technician checked all the tires, set the pressure correctly, patched the hole, billed our rental car agency and sent us on our way in less than 30 minutes. Manager Paul and technician Gage were cordial, professional and extremely sensitive to the fact that we were tourists on vacation. I went in for a tire repair at 9am, and I was greeted promptly. A nice gentleman said that he could do the repair, but that it would take until noon. No problem, as I did not have an appointment. I got a call at 1130 saying that it was done. When I arrived, I was told that it was no charge. There was no puncture, but the bead around the tire to the rim was broken. I explained that I should at least pay for something. His reply? No, just pay out forward because the repair was easy enough. That's just good business. Guess where I will be getting all of my tires from now on (I have 7 cars)...and guess where I will refer people to? Great work and thank you for being so professional. read more

i don't ever leave bad reviews, but the customer service i received from two separate individuals at gill's left such a sour taste in my mouth that after dropping off my car to put on winter tires i decided to pick it back up and go somewhere else. the first man i spoke to on the phone was condescending, which i took for a one off the first time it happened - i understand it's hard times so it's whatever. then after calling again this morning, i was shocked at how rudely i was spoken to by a different person. if i had spoken to a customer in the way he spoke to me in MY customer service job, i'd have been let go. it was enough for me to decide i didn't want to give them my business. i can't speak on the tires or efficiency of their shop, i'm sure those are fine. but customer service was horrendous. read more

DO NOT SCHEDULE AN APPT ONLINE. My boyfriend had made an appt online for an oil change and tire rotation. He called earlier during the day before his appointment to confirm his appt and spoke to someone and they stated to come in at any time since they weren't busy. My boyfriend shows up only to be told that they were SWAMPED and couldn't take him in. He had an appointment that he booked on their website and they said that they weren't supposed to have online appointments on their page. One other worker didn't even know you could book online. They put my breakes on backwards and after a month they finally paid the other shop I had to take it to so that my breakes could be put on right the shop couldn't believe that point s did that until point s called them to pay for it what a nightmare experience and also when you blame others for your mistake it makes you look so dumb .my truck is a 2014 f 150 so it's nothing new and shouldn't of happened I took it back 3 times and 3rd time they told me my hub had gone bad lol . Have been here twice now and had excellent experiences both times. Super responsive and all around pleasant crew to work with. Just this past week I was on my way to a hike on my day off and 10 minutes into my drive the "low tire pressure" warning came on. I felt crushed that the trip I had planned wasn't going to work out, but I called Point S and they quoted me 30-60 minutes for service (meanwhile, Discount Tire said I would've had to drop my vehicle with them for the day). I drove right over, they took my truck in quickly, and had it back out to me with the tire repaired in 35 minutes. They went out of their way and drove to get the specific light I needed for my car and since it was a little longer wait they didn't even charge me for it. Great prices on oil changes as well. I'd give this place 0 stars honestly. My relative went in with his truck, a piece of metal had punctured his rear left tire and he was told it would be a 15 minute fix for the hole. We sat outside watching the mechanics walk around, mess with each other and help two other customers before they even started to asses his truck. The mechanic who had taken the truck in wrote down the wrong tire to be fixed and the mechanic working on it had no idea what to do so he spent 30 minutes lounging around helping a lady who drove up and blocked off a car bay. Disappointed with explanation of additional amount seen on our invoice. Had recent oil change, invoice states $100.59 at top for synthetic Castrol oil change then at bottom under total due it states $103.95 with no explanation for the additional amount. My husband did not notice the differing amounts at the time. When we contacted Point S we were told that there were additional fees(?) and taxes(??) that were applied...these are not listed on the invoice. My husband did purchase wiper blades and had them installed, this was not listed at all on the invoice however the employee did mention he had had that done. We are not necessarily complaining or disputing the amount we were charged however we do think it would be good to have the additional services, fees and taxes listed separately/itemized on the invoice. Having all services itemized on the invoice is also helpful for record keeping for services on our vehicles. read more

I had a tire that had low pressure. I inflated it during lunch. After picking up the kids from school at 3:00, it was low again. I went to Point S for a repair because it is closest. Kenny pointed out that the tires were coming apart, and showed me the defects. They recommended some tires they had in stock, applied a discount, and performed the installation and alignment all within an hour. Timing was key, I needed to be at home to fix supper and they were up to the task. The alignment has a 6 month no questions asked warranty and the Nokian tires are great (60,000 mile warranty and free tire rotations). I feel like the car will be safer for transporting my children through the upcoming winter months because of their attentiveness. read more

I called to confirm an appointment after booking an online request and getting an email response from Gills, and for whatever reason the employee on the phone denied that Gills even messaged me back. I made an appointment to change over my tires. I selected the option as I was making the appointment to wait while the work was being done. When I arrived there were cars haphazardly parked all over the place. They obviously belonged to people who left their cars in the lot to have the same thing done that I needed, have winter tires put on. They didn't have appointments. This was confirmed by the guy at the desk when I checked in. I am then told that I have to leave my car and come back for it at the end of the day. Even though I have an appointment. How about this as a solution.....when your mechanic is done with the next car of someone who didn't have an appointment, do mine, then go back to doing change overs on people who never mad an appointment. Especially since I have no ride to and from and I rearranged my whole day to accommodate the appointment. It's called good customer service. Something that's lacking at this Point S. read more

We're from Vancouver, WA and we take long-weekends in Bend regularly. We had just arrived in Bend for a 3-day stay and our vehicle suffered a flat tire last night. Frantically searching for an open tire shop, we landed at what is now Point S Tire and Auto Service in Bend (after hours). We dropped the car off with Dan on Tuesday night and he said our car would be ready the next morning. Luckily for us the hole was pluggable. Updated: (5 stars) Update: got a call from the guy that checked me in, he apologized. He took responsibility for his coworkers mistake and told me to come in anytime to get a refund. He said that if he knew that the tires were bought here he would have never let it happen the way it did. I will be going back. Point S earned my trust back again. I believe the guy that called me back was Bradly, not 100% sure tho. (One star) Called point S on Saturday and they told me that if I had purchased my tires at point s that it would be free to rotate the tires and check the TPMS and so I came in today (Monday feb 4) I walked in and they got me all set up and took the car in and then brought it back out and told me that all the tire pressure senors were working (the car said otherwise before I brought it in) and they told me it had been reset and is all good now. They then said it going to be $44. Remember in the first sentence when they said it was free? Well I then ran out to my car and got my wallet came back in and Asked "so when is it free?" And he responded with "when the tires are purchased here" and I said "yes they were purchased here" and he then said "those Michelins?" And I said "yes" he then looked at them I brought out the recpit and he said those tires were purchased at another location and we don't do it for free if there not purchased here. So I paid it just cause I was in a rush. But first they said if he tires were purchased at point s, that it is free so it shouldn't matter which location right?. So I left got to go to back home and the tire pressure monitor went on saying it's defective. Then I went back he then measured the tire pressure that was off just slightly, after they had just been filled to the correct pressure from one of this coworkers. He then let some air out and said the temperature in the tires is probs the issue and to wait a few days or it could need resting from the dealership. So I left and it came back on and I went to the dealership and they told me that the senors probs need replacing. So I went back and he came out and tested the senors again and realized that 2 of them were out. So I just got charged $44 for a rotation that I could have gotten done for free at les Schwab and tire pressure system reading done wrong until it was pointed out by out the dealship, that I also could have gotten done for free at les schwab even though it didn't get the tires there, they still would do it for free. This took up almost 5 hours of my day. And I paid for something that I could have gotten done for free other places. So the place where the tire were puchsed wont even do it for free. Wow. I would be happy to change my review of someone contacts me a offer a refund or credit toward my tire pressure senors otherwise this isn't ok the tires were purchased at point s.
