Since I take certain meds, I had a hard time finding a pharmacy who was taking new patients (everyone is so overloaded since the big chain store closed). Oakdale has been amazing since day one. They get my meds ready so I can pick up multiple on one day. They are always so kind and even have given advice when I was dealing with a recurring medical issue. The pharmacist, Christina (I don't think that's how it's spelled) is a kind hearted woman who truly cares about her patients. I don't dread going to the pharmacy anymore, going here is a pleasure. To top it off, they asked me how to pronounce my Finnish last name, which is always bonus points for me! They also have some OTC products and the price is a fraction of the cost compared to a big box store. I hope I never have to change pharmacies again. Went to River Oak pharmacy to get my Covid vaccine they said that it was going to be a $40 co-pay…read moreand that it was no longer covered by the government and I said well it's supposed to be covered because I have United Health insurance and then some administrator came back while I was in the waiting room and said I had to "pay an administration fee and you can't ask for reimbursement from your insurance company and you can't turn it into anywhere and we're not giving you the shot unless you sign this paper saying that you understand that you can't ask for any reimbursement for this from any place else and you can't tell anyone about the fact that we charged you a fee or report it any where, and that we made you sign this paper." Part two: then when I got the shot they told me that it was only $25 and when I paid for the shot they gave me two receipts one for the $25 and another one for $140 showing that my insurance company covered the $140 so what's up with all of that?

I have not written a review of Carranza for fear that too many folks would flock there, but they deserve to be recognized. I would use this pharmacy if I lived miles away in Modesto. And today I went in to get some chips for the grand-kids and this guy who was at least a head taller than me and I'm 6'1 walks by and says "Hello, ya ya doing" Felt like old Oakdale again. Then when I couldn't find my chips I asked the gentleman named "Isaiah" (Hope I spelled it right) at the register if they had anymore since their was only one bag and the web says plenty. That Young man went way above and beyond being a cashier by going down the isles looking for the chips and then the tall guy showed up who I figured to be the manager and he helped. Got the chips for the kids thanks to those 2. And it was really nice having a manager walk by and just randomly say hello again. When I went to pick it up, they had it in a box ready for me to bring home. When I took it home, I began hole punching it and suddenly realized that I had a pretty big problem. The pages we mixed up! It looked like parts were together but then they would get all mixed up. It took about 1 1/2 hours and three people to put it back together in order. This new location is much smaller than it's previous spot - but it's still a fantastic pharmacy with efficient and kind staff. I'm always impressed with how on point everyone is here. They're great at filling prescriptions and will do their best to find more affordable generic prescriptions as needed. I'm also a fan of their growing holistic selection here - including essential oil infused epsom bath salts here and other self care items. For such a small store - they do a fantastic job of keeping their basic key items well organized, while still sprinkling the store with fun finds. Waited patiently in line for the two workers who were talking. The lady at the register finally called me up, seemed irritated like I was interrupting her life. Didn't bother to ask anything just stared at me like I was a bother. I proceeded to tell her I was there for a pick up, gave my name and quick description of my order. I said photo square box rather than photo cube and she swore she didn't understand the difference. The other woman working even told her what I said and she just rolled her eyes and mumbled "yeah...right." Changed her attitude after the fact, trying to let me know about deals but at that point it was pointless to even bother listening after that treatment. Won't be coming back again.

The answer I got from Kyle was it was either put in the wrong bin, or given to another customer by mistake. You have to show ID, so who is so incompetent working there now to do this? Then he tries to explain how busy they are since Rite Aid closed, everyone that goes there knows they are understaffed. For a city of 50,000 people to have 3 pharmacies is crazy.
