    Original art deco

This diner is the real thing. It's so art deco that it looks fake, but these are the original furnishings from the 1950s. The food and service is also excellent. My buffalo chicken wrap was delicious, but my wife's Reuben was spectacular. Our waitress was chatty, informative, and fun. Highly recommended!

Found this diner on Yelp and got off of 88 to drive over. It's a real old fashioned diner with the old rail car look and chrome outside. Happy, friendly servers who out up with me telling my life story. Enough variety of good diner food. The tzatziki sauce was blander than I am used to but my souvlaki salad was perfect. The dressing was not the cheap stuff with sugar. Also they have real maple syrup.

Breakfast was going to be a quick pick up somewhere until we saw Gibby's was on the route to Cooperstown. Parking lot had quite a few cars which worried me that there'd be a wait. Surpise, surprise. It is very spacious with multiple rooms to accommodate a number of diners even with space between the tables. Our waitress brought us our menu describing the many typical breakfast items. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, homefries...everything you'd like for breakfast. Homey diner with good food.

I wish I could give 6 stars! Have been here multiple times for different meals and have never been disappointed. Amazing quantity and quality for a great price. Great little restaurant that you seat yourself and the staff are quick to serve. Waitresses are very nice and the food comes out quick, even for our party of 7! The Buffalo Popper Salad was more than enough salad for the price that you're paying for it. Eggs, peppers, cucumbers, olives, onions and buffalo chicken poppers in a giant bowl with multiple dressing options. I got the Roasted Turkey Club, which is a go to lunchtime meal when I come. The roasted turkey is fresh and there's plenty of meal for more than one person. I will say the French fries are the perfect combination of crispy and soft. For dessert ordered the Apple Cake with maple buttercream frosting. Crushed walnuts on the frosting were a great touch! All desserts are made in the restaurant. Although I'm not normally a huge dessert person with lunch but I just couldn't resist this cake. Would suggest Gibby's to everyone for all meals.

Service was amazing and so was the food. Following Covid protocols and tables are well apart. We had the pastrami and Turkey dinner. Both were amazing. Will be coming back for breakfast and dessert. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

Great spot, good food and good people. Turkey sandwich on home made bread how can you go wrong? Worth checking out,. Peach crisp was to die for. Love the pretty meadow view from the window out back.

Passing thru??? Live near here??? It's a definite stop-and-eat! Place is old school as far as the decor, but the food is great and the workers are super friendly!!! I'll definitely be back if I'm around the area again.... Two Thumbs Up

The salad itself wasn't bad. I enjoyed the dressing. The chicken was mediocre at best. No seasoning on the chicken and it was a little rubbery. My vegetarian daughter might have rated it higher as she doesn't eat meat. Who knows. I would like to try to place an order in person and see if the experience is any different.

However they do deserve a five star rating because they are offering something different compared to any other place in Catskill. The place is called "The salad bar" however their sandwiches are just as good if not better than the salad. The ingredients are always fresh and I've never been disappointed. Prices are fair considering the quality and overall we need more places that are different and unique like this in the village. They have small cozy area for you to chill and enjoy your meal and the service is always quick and friendly. Many of the towns in the Hudson Valley have been revitalizing their downtown areas with great success but Catskill Village seems to be moving a lot slower compared to those other areas. The salad bar is one of those places that's helping it move forward.

Wow....just wow…read more Everything was perfect. 5 Giant stars. 9 thumbs up. The Ceasar salad was the best I have ever eaten, and I consider myself a Ceasar salad snob, a CC conesuier if you will. The fresh peas delicately mixed with the pork lardons and crushed romano crotons were sheer bliss. I will never forget this salad as it now rules as my gold standard. We wanted to hug the chef. Everything tasted like it was scratch made with love using fresh seasonal ingredients; this includes the pork dumplings which you must try during your lifetime!! I could drink that sauce. I usually take pictures of the food but it was devoured in what seemed like seconds. Staff was super friendly and very good at their jobs. When you are looking for the place remember that it is tucked away, bordering on hidden, so look up directions because Waze won't bring you right in front of the place. Great for lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter and choose a table. Very efficient system. Can't wait to return for the burgers (Vermonters call them 'meat pattys') with fried green tomatoes! Kudos. Thank you to Yelp for helping us find this undiscovered treasure.

My fiancé chose a fettuccine Alfredo bowl. While waiting, we struck up a conversation with the owner. I was talking about how excited I was to see the eggplant. I was telling him about the restaurant I used to go to and he said, "Yes! Marotta's! I owned it" Well, my excitement waiting for this eggplant grew. It was delicious. It was made with thin crispy breaded eggplant! It was layered with mozzarella, roasted red peppers, shaved Parmesan, marinara and finished off with a balsamic glaze. It has a pesto usually which I declined. The flavors were amazing and the marinara was perfect! The only suggestion is I prefer it a little saucier. Just my preference. My fiancé said his bowl with chicken and fettuccine Alfredo and vegetables was very good. The chicken was delicious and the vegetables were very fresh. He said the Alfredo sauce was not as rich tasting as he would like and the roasted corn be blackened a little. Both of us had plenty to take home for a second meal and will be heading back to try one of the salad bowls! The place is modern and very clean! I was overly impressed with the counter where the bowls were prepared. It was spotless! This is a place worth searching out for sure. I have a feeling we are going to be regulars!
