Looking for a new dental office and found Gibbons Dental. I sent in an email request for a call to set up an appointment. On 7/14 i received a call for a new patient appointment on 7/24. They had my email, phone number and my information to provide me the details of my appointment. There was never a phone call, a confirmation, a reminder, an add it to your calendar, nor even a notification sent. I received nothing about paper work or anything needed until less than 24 hours before the appointment was scheduled - They sent me a text message on 7/23 asking me to use a link to fill out the paperwork. I'm not sure how this business handles other patients, but I felt this was all very rushed last minute. They had 10 days - to provide me the links and possibly an email to verify the appointment and fill out the paperwork, rather than less than a 24hr notice via text message. They called 3 minutes after the appointment was scheduled. Asked if I was on my way - I advised that I had not received any confirmation until 24 hours prior and was not interested in doing business. I explined the frustration with timeliness and verification, and they receptionist proceeded to defend the lack of acknowledgement. I advised her that I would not entertain her argument, and advosed that if this is how they did things I would notify others via yelp and google. Save your time, and go to a dentist that respects your time. As time is money and last minute reaction is never a solution to not being proactive. read more

I had the best experience with Dr David Gibbons at their dental office in Gilbert. The care quality was excellent and the staff were amazing throughout all my initial questions before coming in through every step of my procedure and even after care. If you're a bit apprehensive about dentists and want to feel certain you're making a good choice, then Dr Dave is right for you! He and all his staff are very knowledgeable and kind. You'll definitely feel at ease as well as extremely pleased with the services you receive at their outstanding dental office in Gilbert. This is the biggest joke of a practice!!!! If I could give zero stars I would!!!! After finally thinking I found a dentist worth referrals. Dr. Gibbons after doing x rays and going over my dental plan and scheduling for my apt. I explain I may be wanting vaneers after I fix everything and his response was to give me a quote in which I told him I can't afford them here (single mom 2 kids) if I do get them I wanted to use a well known dentist is Mexico that had done many of my friends. Today 8/12/22 I received 4 back to back phone calls from his office because I didn't answer due to the fact that I was checking in for surgery at the hospital. So I call back and she informs me Dr. Gibbons said he is not going to do any of my treatment or cleanings because I WANT to get vaneers from a dentist in Mexico and I am not going to pay thousands more and go to him. I asked "SO because I want to have vaneers one day and I can't afford Dr.Gibbons to do it and need to go to a Dr. Mexico where I can afford it he doesn't want to continue and finish my treatment?" Her response was "Yes he won't finish your treatment. If you want your treatment done he said to have the dr in Mexico do it" Like really!?! I started going to Gibbons Dental when I moved back to Arizona two years ago because I was referred by a friend. I've had a few cleanings done and a crown. The dentist is great, not a bad experience at all, no complaints there. My issue comes from the office staff. While they've been friendly, they have also been disorganized and misleading. When I first scheduled the appointment for my crown, I was told that I should wait for the new year so that my insurance would completely cover it (the first time I was told my insurance would cover 100%). So I did. At the end of my first appointment for the crown, which was the "extraction," the woman at the checkout counter tried to charge me about $300 for the appointment. Of course I was confused because when I scheduled the appointment, I was told that it would be 100% covered. After waiting around for about 20 minutes, she came back and said that she was wrong and that it was completely covered (the second time I was told it was completely covered). So I didn't pay anything. At the following appointment all seemed well, I didn't owe anything (the third time I was told it was completely covered). Fast forward 7 months. I receive a bill in the mail that says "Balance Forward" and I owe $37.00. My frustration comes from the disorganization that I experienced when I was in the office, being told one thing from one employee, and another from another. Yes, the forms I signed say that this is a quote not a guarantee, so I am going to pay the $37.00 and I feel petty making a stink over that much. But it is unprofessional and misleading to tell a patient on THREE separate occasions that it will be covered - when 7 months later, it won't be. read more

Don't go to this dentist they play games. I was told to come in to this office for a free dental scan. Once I drove all the way out they say thier machine was down. Keep in mind I was told to come in by them. I had also gone to their other location. There the dentist at one point didn't have on gloves. My crown is not right they have done. My 14 year old son was seen at this dental office today. He was scheduled to have 2 extractions from the roof of his mouth. I had been advised, and insurance authorization submitted, for an anesthesiologist to submit IV sedation. Preoperative instructions state that a responsible adult accompany and remain with him throughout the procedure, and that minors must be accompanied by a parent. However, Dr. Gibbons office not only asked me to leave the room, but also suggested I go and get a cup of coffee. After having witnessed Dr. Gibbons failed attempts to start an IV, I now know why. He attempted to start the IV on my son's right arm. He stuck him in 4 different spots before moving to the left arm. He stuck him there 4 different places before moving back to the right arm to try again, to no avail; then back to the left arm. Each time my son was asking if it was done. After several more failed attempts, I asked Dr. Gibbons whether this was unusual. He said it is not uncommon that he would have to stick a patient 20 to 30 times in order to start an IV, which is hardly a recommendation of his abilities. When we went in for the pre-op on Monday, my son let Dr. Gibbons know that he is afraid of needles and that he was nervous about the IV. Dr. Gibbons looked at his arms and reassured us both that his IV would be an easy one based on my son's veins. However, after multiple attempts to start the IV to no success, I got the impression that the doctor had underestimated the ease of this or had overestimated his ability. When I questioned him during his attempts to start the IV about whether there were alternatives to IV sedation available, he said that he could just extract the teeth without any type of medication at all. At this point, my son got up out of the chair and refused to go any further and I said I was putting a stop to this altogether. At this point, they referred us to an oral surgeon. Why this was not offered in the first place is confusing to me. Dr. Gibbons got extremely defensive when I questioned whether this was unusual. I would have respected and appreciated him much more if he had admitted he was perhaps over his head to begin with. read more

Sadly disappointed with the service received after the initial consultation. Was told one thing and posted a positive review on promises. Ground my plate down to a razor sharp edge and then told me they did not include the replacement in the complete plan I thought I had received. Front desk chastised me saying...We haven't even begun to discuss the cost of the replacement plate. Sadly I told them what I could afford on Care Credit and they maxed it out without the main component. Dr. J is nice, but the staff is not all together upfront. We were down in Mesa visiting some family. Since we had some down-time we decided to get our 6-month cleaning and x-rays. We're from CA and thought there were a lot of dentists around here... well, we were wrong... they are all in Arizona. I think there's a dentist on every corner (next to every Walgreens / CVS). This actually made it even harder to choose a dentist... there are just so many! At the recommendation of a friend we decided to try the Gibbons, and we're VERY glad we did. The office was really nice, the staff were excellent, and the service was fantastic! Both my wife and I commented afterward that our cleanings were more thorough and that our overall experience was better than we've ever had at the dentist. My son had a consultation today with Dr Daniel Gibbons. You see normally we see a Pediatric Dentist because my daughter who is 11 has a rough time in the dental chair due to anxiety shes developed over time at a very young age. My son however, not so much. Well, 3 weeks ago Christopher had an appt for a filling with the Pediatric Doctor. We took him in for treatment but felt discouraged upon leaving because his Pediatric Doctor could not get the tooth numb. The Pediatric Doctor stated he will need to sedate Christopher due to the tooth being hyper calcified and told us we'd get a call from them as soon as the anesthesiologist approved the treatment.. As the weeks went on I began feeling more and more uncomfortable about sedating my son for something so minor. I am a woman of faith and so the prayer Warrior in me kicked in. I spent every night praying for a good outcome. I work for Dr Dan on a weekly basis and mentioned my situation to him (I am so thankful that conversation took place) He suggest I bring Christopher in for a consultation to see exactly what was going on with this stubborn tooth. At that time I felt very comfortable with bringing my son in to see him for a second opinion before moving forward with the sedation. We got an appt and came in asap. After talking with Dr. Dan and my husband, we agreed to give it a go! Without a doubt in my mind I knew this was the right thing to do. I felt such peace the entire time. I could not be any more pleased with the outcome. Dr Dan was successfully able to numb my son and worked through the entire procedure with very little discomfort to that tooth. My son said he felt very comfortable in the chair with Dr Dan annnnd my daughter even said she wants to come to our office now! Which is great! I am not exaggerating when I say, Dr. Dan is truly a one of a kind Dentist. He knew this tooth required a little extra care and patience and that was exactly what he gave us. He had a very gentle touch the entire time and a very caring spirit! He talked to Christopher every step of the way and reassured him that if he felt anything he was to raise his hand and let us know. Christopher is very happy to have this tooth treated without sedation all thanks to Dr. Dan and his patience! He also saved us a ton of money! They were able to get me in that same day! They also were very honest and even worked with me on a financial plan. Dave Gibbons is one of the best dentists with which I have been associated. Approx a year ago, I was diagnosed with "deep pockets" (12mm+) and periodontal disease and referred to another perio by my family dentist. I visited a perio specialist and was told at least 6 teeth would have to be extracted, the sooner the better. Even a second opinion gave the same result. I investigated the laser technology and found Dave Gibbons who offered a free consultation. He felt that no teeth would have to be extracted and suggested the LANAP therapy. I was a patient of Dr. David Gibbons. He performed some dental work for me and the quality of his work was mediocre as he had to redo the same work more than once. Once I had an infected tooth and was seen by a dentist at the same office. The dentist gave me the first antibiotic for ten days but after ten days the infection got worse and I wasn't able to eat except soups and soft food. After ten days I went back and the Dentist gave me another kind of Antibiotics and after 10 days the infected tooth was getting a lot worse. To a make a long story short I took four (4) antibiotics until the infection was cured. During the 40 days on antibiotics, I lost 26 pounds, I paid $120.00 as insurance co-pay for medicines and suffered so much from pain. I saw an attorney who advised me to sue the dentist for malpractice but I let it go. This office has no good dental knowledge on how to treat a simple tooth infection which is taught is Dentistry 101. Worst experience ever in this dental office. read more
