He also gave my daughter advice that she needed orthodontic work after getting her braces off two weeks prior of her appointment. Let me console the actual Orthodontist that said it was okay to take the braces off. I'd also like to add that I paid cash and they billed my old insurance anyway. We relocated from New Jersey and had been going to the same dentist for over ten years so we knew we would be judging our new dentist by what we were use to! They were able to surpass those expectations! The entire staff puts you at ease from the moment you enter! Unknown to my husband that "slight" pain he has started to experience was an abscess and he needed to have the tooth removed! Now a lot of other dentists might have told you about this but this dentist was so concerned that it would blow up over the holiday weekend that they calledAZ oral and got him in immediately! So we now will be able to not worry about this and Steelyard Dental has two very faithful patients! There was no pressure to do work immediately, advice was given about future needs! I cannot tell you the relief we both had in finding a group we will recommend to our children when they move here next year and know we are putting them in great hands! Great experience!

I explained that I had X-rays from 6 months ago from my dentist and could email them, but that wasn't good enough. These dentist offices that push for new X-rays every single time you go for a cleaning are just ripping you off. There's no reason for new X-rays every six months. Needless to say I left and found a GREAT conservative dentist that doesn't push things down your throat to make a quick buck.

I also told him that my biggest insecurity was my smile but unsure why. He asks me if it is because my teeth tilt inward and I have a gummy smile. Yes! That's it, I hadn't been able to put my finger on it but gummy smile, hated it. Dr. Cefalo insures me that Invisalign is something that could correct my overbite. Not camouflage. Not help. He convinced me for two years and 3 refinement trays that Invisalign would CORRECT my overbite. I asked many questions, upon asking for my client files none of which were documented. Only that "dr answered all of pts questions". Questions that were along the lines of, would brackets be faster? Is this working? Will my molars come outward as well? (Constant mention of front 4-6 teeth being stuck on bone and they're just being stubborn). Constant ear pain finally led me to a primary care doc, which led me to an ENT. Where I found out Invisalign was never, and could never correct an overbite. When I told dr Cefalo my new treatment plan (pallet expander and two years of brackets) he acted shocked and surprised, saying he didn't imagine it would be so invasive. I also asked him if he could tell I had been grinding my teeth, said yes but nothing concerning. (Shocker, teeth grinding caused my ear pain). Dr. Davis did give me a refund when I brought my concerns to the office, which had me conflicted on what to do next. But ultimately, what Dr Cefalo did was incredibly evil and I think people should know about it. My next question I wanted to be on record Dr, are you dumb? Didn't see a jaw discrepancy and/or thought plastic could fix it? Or are you poor? You needed to scam someone who CLEARLY doesn't come from luck or money (ie hadn't been to the dentist in 10 years)?
