We are in town from Pittsburgh staying with our in-laws and needed to pick up a few things. The store was very clean and had everything we needed. I did not plan on buying blueberries, but I bought some because they were the biggest ones I had ever seen. The kids loved them and said they tasted great! I did not have much interaction with the staff other than the one who checked me out. It was pretty standard. We would definitely come here again! read more

This place is always poorly managed. They charge a premium price and provide junk service. The only reason to go to this store is location. There is no local competition so it will stay in business. The neighborhood deserves a better store. Please toss all of the reviews from the last three years this place has really fell to poor management. The staff are fine. Nothing you would pay extra for. read more

We go to this giant a lot since it's so close to our house. It's never too crowded, which is nice. They have a wide selection of groceries and produce. They offer a wide variety of products at different price ranges. They also sell wine and beer in the store at average prices. The self checkout has about 10 stations and they always have a lot of cashiers ringing as well. read more

I have been to the Giant foods store in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania back several years ago and they had a pharmacy in the store as well. They were very good and they had some really nice food there too. I was surprised and very impressed by how much they took care of customers satisfaction. read more

I apologize in advance if I get her name wrong but this afternoon, around 130 or 2 pm I stopped to pick up some groceries and other necessities and being that I am a former cashier I can usually scan my stuff pretty quickly at the self checkout. The store is clean and well stocked, easy to find things, but there was another person who was checking out at the self checkout and he couldn't figure out what was going wrong so I believe Tiffany came over and very quickly and efficiently found the price and got him on his way and I remarked that was why machines will never replace humans because she is a trained professional and without her, we couldn't get things done! The young lady was running both self checkout and helping other cashiers and she was kind and professional and just a wonderful worker! read more

Giant - Grocery Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

It works for a decent sized grocery store. Giant tends to be less expensive than a Safeway. This doesn't put it in the superb category, but I'd rather go with this than some. Also this is quite an extensive sized one. You'll find what you're looking for. I do like the produce area, as they do have a lot of healthy choices. One area where this and other Giant's shine is the bakery. For breakfast on days off, it gets considerable amounts of my business. Their baked in store bagels or cinnamon rolls, are quite tasty and reasonably priced. It's a clean and organized one. Due to the density of folks in the area it can be busy. The parking situation can be amusing, but that is northern Virginia. read more

I like this Giant and was disappointed to find they pulled a fast one on Super Bowl Sunday 2/12/23 The deli had 8 pieces of dark meat chicken for about $7 They also had spicy and mild wing trays at $14 Imagine my surprise to see that the "wings" had no flats AND SOME OF THE PIECES WERE DARK MEAT- THIGHS cut into small pieces to resemble wings. Shame on Giant! read more

This is my preferred Giant in the area. It's clean, well-lit, and has the friendliest staff of any Giant I have previously visited-particularly the younger workers in the self-checkout. The setup is logical and I have always found the brands and items I need. They have a really nice bakery selection too. The produce has always seemed really fresh. Tte wine/beer selection is good for grocery stores in the area. I'll continue to frequent this location as long as I'm in the area. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've had dealing with an employee. I don't know what his name was like philip or something he looked Indian so not only was he rude and dismissive, but his complete lack of professionalism and attention to detail cost us time and money. He repeatedly ignored instructions, displayed zero initiative. His inability to meet even the most basic expectations has made it clear that he's a liability. This dude speak like he's the boss of the store For the sake of your company's reputation, this individual needs to be let go immediately. read more

My go to place for a yummy treat after work! The staff is pretty hands off but that's nice because I don't go to grocery stores to chat with the employees. Cashiers are usually very nice though. The one door closing at 10 pm is sometimes annoying though because then you have to walk all the way around the place to go inside. It's cold inside also. read more

Why when you are scanning your own groceries, you feels like they care watching you! I like how I can go around and scan items before putting them on my cart. I don't shop too much at Giant. But when I do I find what I'm looking for. read more

0 if I could. Never shopping at this location again. One of the employees was chatting it up with her coworker at the self checkout. I realized I needed some change for my items so I was going to run to my car to grab a few coins and had clearly left my screen on the payment page as well as all my items still at the pay station. The attendant yelled at me across the self checkout area and asked to see what was in my pocket and hands. I explained I was just getting change and she cut me off to say I was stealing. Once she realized she had been mistaken she said "ok go". I asked her for her name and called the store from my car after going to a different grocery store. This incident was a while ago but be careful here. If you love being profiled and yelled at across a store though this is definitely the grocery store for you! read more

I usually don't review grocery stores but after seeing negative reviews I felt I needed to. All of the staff here are always kind and courteous. Once when I got home to find out some meat smelt funny We brought it back and received a full refund plus a discount on the new meat. The store is always clean and well stocked. read more

The "new Giant" in Kings Park Shopping Center in Burke is spacious and bright. I like the wider rows and organization of this enhanced, Super G store. Amenities that they offer include the scan n' shop so you can scan your items while you shop stopping by the check out counter only to pay {LOVE THAT}, full bakery and deli. The produce section includes a vast selection or organically grown fruits and vegetables hopefully lowering the prices so that those items can be available and affordable to the masses. They also offer a pick up service where you place your grocery order online and swing by the store just to pick up your items. The staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Love the Giant salad bar. I had a huge salad today which costed me about $7. You really can't beat the price. Whole foods would have charged my probably $14 for the same amount. I also appreciate the self checkout. I can be in and out in about 10 minutes and eat my salad on my way to the next client. Thank you giant. Looking forward to your new Fairfax location coming soon. read more

I had eagerly awaited the reopening of this new, improved, rebuilt, and refurbished Giant, as the construction in the Kings Park shopping center had built up my anticipation quite a lot. I went during Opening Weekend a couple months ago and... was underwhelmed. I guess just because the expectations were so high, I was, well, expecting a lot! So I was initially a bit disappointed that the aisles were so close together and it didn't have all the amenities I had imagined in my head, but now that I've had a little while to process, I still think that this is a great little spot to get your shopping done. They re-did this Giant so it does have a lot of ready-made food features, a nice big floral desk, etc, and while the store does seem like there's a lot of STUFF crammed in there, I do understand that there's only so much they can do with the amount of space they were allotted. The staff has always been very friendly, and while parking can be a bit adventurous during prime post-work hours, I've found I usually have better luck if I park on the left side of the Giant vs. in the same part of the parking lot that's shared with Peet's, McDonald's, Zinga, etc. Anyway, does this grocery store always have the things on my list? Is it clean? It is predominantly well-stocked? Are the cashiers nice enough? Yes, yes, yes, and yes. So I can't really complain, and the location is just so darn convenient that I'm sure I'll be offering my patronage for a long time to come. read more

The parking lot was absolute crap during the construction of this Giant, but was it worth it? I actually think so! There are two entrances to Giant, one with a ramp and the other with its own designated parking lot on the side. The layout takes some getting use to, but they have everything now. There is a Deli, Bakery, and Seafood section right next to each other... how convenient! Let me just go back and talk about the layout. The dairy area shares the same aisle as ice cream and the next few aisles are frozen goods. That's so strange because I'm so use to dairy being isolated from the freezer section, but I think this is efficient! All the dairy and frozen goods in one area, the dry ingredients and can foods grouped together, and then finally the fresh foods! I'm really happy that they have some of the items that are harder to find like Milk Kefir, tofu burgers, and they have a whole aisle for the health freaks! They finally updated the check out center so you have the option of self checkout or a cashier. read more

My friend and I were visiting the store to get some stuff. The store was stinking and we didn't like that a lot. We had to wait 4 minutes in the line as well. read more

It is a new store, and even allowing that they are working out the kinks, they have made some poor decisions. First, there is almost no logic to the store's organization. They have bread is at least 5 different places, for example. Second, they have a live band playing near the entrance. Why? No clue. The practical outcome is that you can't hear yourself think. And, maybe that's the point. Third, on their first week of being open they had items on the shelves past the sell-by dates. It is like they had so much space, they decided to waste it. BTW: good luck finding parking. read more

Standard Grocery story in NOVA. A lot has changed, but it's it's pretty standard and expensive (just like how NOVA should be) haha. Parking lot is overwhelming and crappy, but you need food so...gotta suck it up and deal with it. read more

I just returned from shopping here. A young man vomited in the ice cream aisle, I let a store employee know as did his grandmother. I shopped elsewhere and then returned 10 min later to get ice cream. It was now spread over several places with no store employee in sight. A lady had just slid in some of it. On returning to this aisle I did see the employee again standing at customer service where a lady asked him if he worked here and he said no????? When I was leaving there were about 10 Giant people up front but no one helping people shopping with questions. I did stop as did the lady who slid to let all the workers up front know what we experienced. This store has needed some experienced leadership for awhile. read more

This was my first visit to this store since it was remodeled. I just stopped to pick up one item for dinner and didn't spend a lot of time scoping out the store. They seemed to have a larger selection of produce, deli, and bakery items than most Giant locations. I would like to go back soon to give it a more thorough check out. read more

If I could put less than one star U would. I've never done a yelp review let along a negative one, but this store has the worse management team you could possibly work with. The store is packed with favoritism from the store manager to his selective few people. They gang up against people they dislike and make their working experience a living hell. It doesn't look good to other employees or customers. Definitely the worse giant store in the area. No wonder it has low ratings. read more

It's a much more pleasant store than the one it replaced. It has a decent seafood counter with a very good manager. Surprisingly good organic food aisle. Decent beer selection. But the produce....ugh. I can't count the times I've come home with packaged salad greens, only to find that they were inedible. Bins of rotted avocados not uncommon. My wife recently went to the manager to complain about mold on sliced squash. Unbelievably limp green onions. Don't they check the bins? For me, it's cheaper to buy at MOM's or Wegmans because I don't end up throwing the stuff away. C'mon, Giant, you should do better than this. Friendly hint: always use the self service checkout lanes. Checkers haven't been taught not to put delicate items like fresh fish under heavy cans and bottles. read more

Overall, I am getting used to this fairly new Giant. The location is just a mile from my house so it is convenient. I have been going to the Giant on Burke Center Pkwy. and the Giant this one replaced since 1994 and never did I purchase rotting produce....until this Giant. It happens frequently that one or two if the vegetables are going bad. And when a I have purchased sour cream, for goodness sake, it is watery and unusable. Never happened before. The parking lot is a nightmare. The lanes are too narrow. It's an accident waiting to happen. Not crazy about the layout either. read more

Overview: Standard grocery store I moved to the area while this location was under construction, so I can't compare to how it used to be, but it's become my go-to store when I need to run out to pick up something quickly, since I live nearby (and I don't care for the Giant on Old Keene Mill). I like the atmosphere - the store feels open, clean, and airy. The produce section seems well organized and inviting. They have a lot of self-checkout machines, so I never feel like I have to wait for long (if at all) and there is usually a very helpful attendant nearby. I went the weekend it opened and some of the staff seemed a little colder and more distant than I'd expect, but I've never had an issue since. Bottom line: This is a convenient after-work stop for me and I like the store, so I will definitely be coming back. read more

Better giant than most. Low selection of meats sadly but tos of freshness everywhere and one of the easier stores to get in and out of quickly. Very clean as well read more

Argh......... why do I always seem to forget how much I dislike this location?? It's nice and clean and new but man oh man!! The parking lot is a nightmare - small cramped and full of crazies all trying to beat each other to the closest spot rather than walk 10 extra feet. The baggers leave a lot to be desired. My delicates are always stuffed into the bottom of the cart not matter how nicely I ask. Lastly, the checkers , although quite pleasant don't seem to know (or be allowed to) do anything on their own. I swear they have to call a manager to answer "how are you today" .........argh!!!!!!!! read more

I have gone to this grocery store often for the last year now and I can honestly say I've never had a good experience here. All of the cashiers are lazy and rude. When you ask for help or not to put the bananas at the bottom of the bag or for paper instead of plastic (sorry I care about the earth!) I get an eye roll and super slow reaction. When I thank them, they say nothing. They actually don't talk to you at all. I'm done coming to this grocery store. read more

I don't even want to put the star. Terrible customer service at the self checkout line. I was asking for help but she made me feel like I begged her for something. read more

Store is old-looking inside - don't let the new signage outside fool you. Otherwise it seems adequate. I just stop by at 6:30am on the way to work if I need something for an office party, but I guess it could be decent if you lived here. There are so many supermarkets in this area, though, it's probably worth it to shop around before selecting your "usual." read more

This store is a million times better than the one it replaced. It's clean, bright, and now that I know the layout I can find everything easily. Many of the checkers came from the Giant that closed across from the post office. Long time employees who are efficient and friendly. Overall, I'm very pleased. read more

Nice store, good selection, BREATHTAKINGLY understaffed. They need more cashiers - people don't use the self-checkout. I've been standing in this line with my groceries for nearly 10 minutes. I come here several times a week - it's not uncommon. Management needs to keep an eye on the lines and have staff open checkout lines as needed - it's prime time and there are only 3 running! read more

Hello my name is Shakir Wali and I am a former employee at giant food. In the year 2020 I had worked my butt off to get any type of promotion so I can provide for myself and my family during COVID-19. I was at high risk from working around many people including customers and having experience in every department but deli. On top of that I pushed carts in the summer heat while wearing a mask. But unfortunately for me, the store manager Jahmit Sin used me and promised many opportunities/growth with the company. I was told I would get dairy, seafood, and grocery management but was given no follow up. He would only give management for those he favored personally rather professionally. There would be times he would tell me I can't call off or I'm fired, and also times where he would have his friends over in the store and they would speak their language pointing at me and giggling. Consider that I am Afghan and my family came from hardship and sacrifice. We escaped violence for better horizons but for me I was snaked out by this new store manager. A year of my time gone due to selfish actions of a store manager. I don't know if KAT or CLAIRE are involved in any way. But I can say that he is a very corrupt individual. There was a time I had steamed my whole right arm after a faulty steamer that has been known to be broken for a long time burned me. I texted him at the time and no response due to his vacation. As a store manager you should be attentive to these situations no? I have a lot of managers at 6980 jahmits old store even telling me I was used by him. Nobody go here for work or even groceries. The man plays his employees and uses. I tried going back to 6980 but they told me he put me in the system as non rehire. I did quit but only because he was taunting full time position. I'm never a negative person but unfortunately for him, I have a lot of concerns. read more

They have all the standard stuff, plus a wide variety of Lara bars, Clif bars, frozen fruit, and almond milk. They are pretty good at having organic, unsweetened, or minimally-processed food options. What's with all the wine, though? Other Giants don't have nearly that much, so it must be driven by local demographics. read more

It's always clean with the great customer service! I like the bakery too.very friendly staff!

This is the "nice" GIANT in the West Springfield area. The produce usually looks good, it is well spread out and usually carries everything that I need...I recently switched to going out of my way to head there instead of the closer/less appealing grocery stores. Until now. This week I went twice to grab a few things and was overcharged BOTH days. Had I been buying a week's worth of groceries I may not have noticed because this GIANT is pricey...but one day I was charged for 33 oranges instead of 3. Obviously the woman just hit the 3 button an extra time...i have worked in customer service, mistakes are made, no big deal. The next DAY I was charged for 3 candy bars instead of one. Both days I went in the morning with no one ahead or behind me in line. I am now wondering how many extra items I have been paying for, but not receiving in the past few months. I won't be back. It's a decent GIANT but by no means the nicest or cheapest grocery store around, soooo no need to deal with that. Want to give it 1 star, but the other 2 Giants nearby are so dingy and gross, I have to atleast give them 2 for upkeep. read more

This store does NOT have a pharmacy. This is the first time ever that I've been to a Giant Foods without an onsite pharmacy.
