I had the Ghostburger and the Philly Fry. Of the two, I enjoyed the fries a lot more and they made me excited to try the cheesesteak next time I go. The fries were crispy with the ribeye and the sauce was delicious. If I were to get the burger again, I'd do what they did for the fries: keep the sauce on the side. Because I did take out, the bun was a bit soggy from the sauce, and it didn't add much to the burger. The patty itself needed a bit more seasoning, but overall was cooked well and the size I expect from a burger. With the sauce almost non-existent it came out more as a regular cheeseburger -- a good solid burger but didn't feel like anything special. The only reason they got this was service was good. But since a soft opening, I wonder what it'll be like later when they could care less. Let me explain. I don't give poor ratings lightly. 1) EXPENSIVE. 2 burgers cost almost 50 bucks and it was 2 burgers, one fries and one onion ring (no the fries and onion rings don't come with) and two TINY bottles of coke. 2) The burgers: SMALLEST BURGER ON THE PLANET. You know the kind they give you in a kids meal at McDonalds. Who knows maybe smaller? When we got the burgers, they came on a cheaper than wonder bread bun. This was no brioche roll or big nice bun. My bun was burned at the top and it was standard cheap back yard bun. When the burger came, you couldn't see the meat? I thought did they give me a bun only? You did not get an option for lettuce or tomatoes, may, mustard. NON existent here. If they had it, they had it stuffed somewhere and you probably needed to ask. I had onions on mine, at least they had that. The meat was small unlike the photos. The photos show this nice huge burger with stuff on it. I think they stole the photos from someone else or made themselves a nice burger and then ripped off their guests. NO unsweet or sweet tea if that's your drink. No coffee, tea... only tap water and a few soft drinks. I guess the draw is supposed to be the sauce so let me talk about this. Everyone thinks they make a great sauce and that qualifies them to open a joint. WRONG. This sauce wasn't horrible or gross but what is it? Ghost sauce? It was NOT spicy. It was NOT pickled... it was not oniony, garlicy. What the heck was it? I couldn't figure it out it was very flavorless for the most part. I got one bite (burger was 6 bites max I think for me and like 4 for my big mouth hubby). This was undoubtedly the WORST burger I have ever eaten. Now if the price had been half what it was, then maybe I'd of tolerated it better but that was PRICEY for something that small and pitiful. Now let's get to the fries and Onion rings: 3) Hubby said the fries were meh. He said there was something on them not his thing but tolerable and standard more to the frozen side. They definitely not hand cut and fried nor nice steak fries or even very hot standard fries. They were passable. The onion rings were the type with an actual onion in them (not the mashed type) and they would have been great if they'd of not have hurt my jaw chewing them. They were very hard and dry and chewy. They gave me 7 onion rings and that is fine I think that was standard. They gave enough fries for a normal person but my hubby had he of loved them would not have felt it was enough. He likes his fries. I'd say there were maybe 20 fries; came in a small paper holder (small is the key) personally I thought that it was reasonable. 4) EVERYTHING ELSE: They give you water which is nice but it's tap. You can taste tap. Obviously be happy to get water some places don't give it unless you ask. The service was good. BUT they AUTOMATICALLY charge you 15 percent tip. I don't like it when they do that. I normally give 20 anyway so they lost out actually. My husband didn't want to leave it because of the price for what you get. This was literally a 5-7 dollar meal not a 25 dollar one. I know prices are up with inflation but do NOT lie on your photos! You cheat people like that. Remove those now and put the REAL photos there. I should have taken a photo. I forgot. DO not go there unless it gains traction and changes. This soft opening was a BUST. Oh it looked cheap and dirty in there and bland. No good ambiance. It's all purple with a ghost logo. No thing nice in there. Old everything. No character or anything. ceiling is black and you can see all the pipes, cords everywhere etc. when that gets dirty... my goodness dust in your food? The quality for your money is not here. $20 on a steak and cheese sub with that came with no caramelized onions or peppers. The meat had no flavor and the fries were a salt bomb of bad. The $7 carot cake tasted strange and savory very dry. Not good. Just not good. The pictures online are a lie. Those are not 4oz patties unless they made sliders and took macro shots. First off the burger is very good and the meat had great flavor. I only wish they had a more diverse selection. They do not allow substitutions or adding toppings, only removing. The burger was small but decent...the BS getting it was not. I preordered for 6:15 p.m. (see photo). I was, as usual, 5 minutes early. At 6:10 the guy behind the bar tells me, "The way it works is your order is put in at 6:15. I will put your order in now." So, did he just told me that the food that was scheduled for pick up in 5 minutes has not even been started...? I go outside to look at the confirmation email so I can determine if I had made a mistake. The people outside tell me that they just ordered a few minutes before I arrived. Their food comes out at 6:17. I go inside to show the guy that the email says pick up at 6:15. He does not even want to look at my phone and tells me, "That is just the way it is." I got the food 12 minutes after the scheduled time. I waited a total of 17 minutes. I cannot help but wonder how Ghostburger would feel if I wasted 17 of their minutes. You guys need to figure out how to have food out at the time of pick up and teach your employees that when something goes wrong, telling the customer that they are doing it wrong is rarely the way to go. I might order here if someone else wants it but it is low on my list for burgers in DC. Try The Capital Burger down the street at NY & 7th. They have yet to be anything but nice and efficient and their burgers are PHENOMINAL. read more

i got the bourgeoisie/french double burger with cheese fries because ubereats sent ya girl $20! Everything was soggy but i do not blame ghost burger. I blame Carlton my ubereats driver who circled my apartment building about 5x. next time, i'm going to bike myself over there and ensure i have nice crispy fries and a non-soggy bun. Anyway, burger was top 5. i read the other people's reviews about portions and did not have this problem because i got the double burger. cheese fries were good because they put the cheese in a little container separately. i cannot wait to try to try the $20 cheesesteak (which yes, as a Philadelphian, does hurt my heart to think about). Ghostburger is another establishment that I've quite enjoyed during my stay here in DC. The frenchie with the double oz patties and fresno wings were what I ordered. The burger is delicious but the buns were soggy and by the time you get to half of the burger, its all fallen out! Thats when you have to wat the burger with utensils and I don't see that as a good "burger" having to resort to eating it with things other than your hands. The fresno wings were good as well but there was a lot left to be desired as the seasoning was lacking as well as the dips. The crinkle fries were top notch though and the added White Cheddar Sauce is incredible when paired together. All in all, the food was good, 4 stars for it. Though the pricing is too high for the quality of food you get so thats why I put it with 3 stars. read more

Better as an emote than a restaurant. After two showings I am assuredly underwhelmed. This is supposed to be a premium burger place so it should be much better. First, the cheesesteak was a mushy mess. I did not detect one ounce of Philly in the sandwich. The steak was too finely chopped and the roll was wet. Coupled with the lackluster fries, and well there you have it. Take two. The namesake burger. The cheese sauce was in fact decent, but nothing to rave about for sure. Easy to order, I ordered the wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon, it was very good however they didn't provide forks and knives so we had to have hotel give us. Also ordered the chicken wings they were very good with a bit of heat so the ranch dressing they provided came in handy, it was about 6-7 wings. My husband got French fries with a double hamburger and asked for grilled onions. It came perfect. French fries were also good however they seasoned them a bit heavy and my husband didn't like it. This is a place with excellent burger options in a sea of okay ones. I've ordered here multiple times and the quality is always high [and consistent]. Service has always been timely. The takeout option has been great and makes us feel safe. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is the crinkle fries. While this is a matter of preference and many people like them, they've become somewhat ubiquitous among burger places recently (e.g., Shake Shack) and it's kind of tiresome. Ordered Ghostburger tonight as I've been dying to try it. I ordered a single patty Ghostburger and an order of the fries with all the toppings (cheese sauce, onions, and meat). I loved the burger! Super delicious and came still fresh. Ordered via UberEats and sadly my fries came rather cold and soggy. I made sure to click priority on UberEats to make sure they were nice and hot, but alas. Flavor was so-so on the fries as well and they seemed to be your traditional freezer crinkle fries. Ended up throwing them away after a few fries. Currently, as of 08/06/2021 they are not offering dine-in. We ordered 2 ghost burgers (single patties), Fresno wings, 2 cokes and a margarita ($30). The food was ok, not bad but nothing special. Ghost burgers ($10 ea.) were very small and not a lot of flavor, although the spooky sauce (their version of a burger sauce) with the pickles and red onion were nice additions. Wings came by the pound, so we ended up with 6 for $10. Flavor was fine, but again, nothing special. With our takeout order we did not receive any napkins and they did not have any to-go cups for the margarita. This would have been 2-stars but the margarita was their saving grace because it was strong. Overall, the price is more than the quality. Not the best place to eat, but not the worst. read more
