This restaurant is located in Downtown Gettysburg and is one of the few without a Civil War motif. It is named for a Baseball Hall of Famer from Gettysburg named Eddie Plank, a left handed pitcher with 300 wins. Anyway, on with the review! We went there for lunch after touring the battlefield. It is important to note that they were practicing safe social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have to give them some kudos for that. Limited seating and masks were the order of the day. We ordered nachos and some beers when we arrived, club sandwiches, and a crabcake. All of the food was what you would expect from a typical bar-like restaurant. Solid, filling, perhaps not spectacular but certainly not bad. The service was good and we left there feeling like we had a decent meal for the money. Again, it is important to note that my four star rating is based upon my expectations of bar food as well as the fact that they were open safely during a pandemic. I have to give them a little bump for that. If I am ever back in Gettysburg, I will certainly return. read more

Delicious! The roast beef au jus sandwich ch was stacked high with meet. The cheese sauce on the Philly was delicious. The service was super friendly. read more

Great burger and great beer! The inside of the pub was very homey. Great service! If you are in the Gettysburg area would highly recommend a burger and beer from here. read more

We went to the famous battlefield town and after a day of travel, we searched for a late take-out restaurant and discovered few options. Our order consisted of chicken, shrimp and potato skins. The food was ready when they advised, we took it back to our hotel and ate almost all of it as it was very good. If I return to this area, I would stop in again as it was a good value and delicious! read more

Fantastic ambiance and amazing food. I highly recommend Gettysburg Eddie's! The food is FRESH and portioned well! I was also impressed with how clean the entire restraint was. We sat upstairs at the bar and I always peak behind the bar...not a spec of food on the floor. The restrooms were also clean. We'll be back!! read more

Business usually takes me into Gettysburg a couple of times a year and I realize I usually make a point of stopping at Gettysburg Eddies. On the edge of the historical area and surrounded by tourist shops selling t-shirts and shot glasses sand tickets for ghost tours and the rest of the tourist junk is this nice little place for a meal. It is bar food and bar food given a bit of a lift and is reliable and a good price. One of the great things about this place is the decor. With so much of the town stuck in those three days in July 1863, the styling here is late 19th century baseball. With everything else in the area celebrating the battle and the war and the south and the north and the...OMG thank goodness I can get a drink and a meal without that. As a note for the staff I was in there last Friday for dinner. I'd arrived when there was still space even for a 'table for one' and was seated at once at a six top. I had dinner- the seafood platter- and as I ate I could see larger groups stacking up by the door. There was NO attempt to rush me when I was done even though they definitely could have used the space. 'Would you like coffee/dessert?' Was asked with the sound of someone wanting to make sure their guest was pleased, not that they wanted me o-u-t for the next sitting. It was the sense of hospitality being honored in the spirit that is all too often lacking in the modern world that really came home to me. I will say parking can be a little bit of a problem but that pretty much is a given in Gettysburg, especially for lunch and do dinner rather than lunch if you get a choice. I don't know why but the fries at lunch time tend to be hard, overdone nuggets, The ones for dinner are always light and fluffy like they're supposed to be. That having been said I keep going back here. there are lots of places in Gettysburg for food and I keep stopping here. I really can't think of a better endorsement. read more

Hubby had firecracker shrimp taco and is still talking about it! I had a good chunk of fried haddock. Cold draft Yuenglin and all very affordable. read more

The food was overpriced and sub-par , borderline just bad. There was about a half of a pound of romaine lettuce on our nachos. We came here last year and did not care for it and thought I'd give it a second chance. We will not go back. read more

Delicious. Must stop here!! We got the crab pretzel to start. If was clearly not imitation crab. The food was hot and delicious. The portions were huge. I got the haddock sandwich and it was quite tasty. The story behind the place is cool too. Make sure you check out the history of Gettysgurg Eddie. read more

This is a pretty good spot to stop off at on your way out of Gettysburg. I had the signature sandwich, it was OK (standard bar food), but the waffle fries were fantastic and the ranch.....whoa. I'm from the south, and we love our ranch. Most places fall short on the ranch, but this place has a five-star ranch. I get that my review is mostly about the ranch, but yeah. Service was excellent too. read more

Very disappointing meal. I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and they were kind enough to find a table for me, despite being relatively crowded. That is where the good things to say about this place come to an end. I have been reading all the positive reviews, and I don't get it. I ordered a steak medium well, and I got it medium rare, bordering on the rare side. Exactly the way I hate to eat a steak. And I will say that it was the worst steak I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration. It was way overpriced and the taste was hideous. The salad was bland and tasteless. I will say the fries were delicious. The service could have been better. I asked for a refill on my soda and the waitress forgot me. I went to the bar and asked for a refill. Perplexed, the bartender asked, "Don't you have a server?" I told the truth, "She forgot me." As I said, I saw the reviews which were overwhelmingly positive, and all I can say is I most certainly did not have that experience. I come to Gettysburg very frequently and this is one place I will avoid at all costs. The repulsive taste of that steak is still in my taste buds and I want to get it out of my mouth as well as pretending I never ate that hideous piece of meat. read more

Food was good and service was quick. Highly recommended. Some cool old timey baseball pictures or Eddie Plank

We were very excited to try out Gettysburg Eddie's last night! We started out with amazing wings! I ordered the black and bleu hamburger (medium) and it was really dry and the bleu cheese was dried out as well. It was if it sat under a heat lamp too long and the fries were good but Iuke warm. The decor is great and the waitress was nice but was very disappointed overall. read more

Fun atmosphere w/great music. Seated & waited on promptly by friendly waitress. Hubbie had fish & chips & I had English Beef Sandwich & added extra toppings of sautéed onion, portobellos & roasted red peppers. Served w/horseradish & dipping sauce. We both had the coleslaw for our side. Everything was delicious & would return. read more

Great food. Affordable prices - for a tourist town. Nice baseball theme - nice to have a little break from the civil war.

Very accommodating for our party of 6, excellent food by all, friendly and extremely personable service.

thank you, Eric, for responding, I guess you could say I am not used to taking photos of my food. I know tons of people do that. I had a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was a tiny bit on the dry side, but still tasted good, and the fries were delicious. Most of my dining experiences have been good, and coming to your restaurant was a welcome difference to a recent experience in Harper's Ferry where the food was served to us cold and the waitstaff practically ignored us until I had to yell out to the waitress to remind her we weren't invisible. Our waitress, Amanda H, was do kind, attentive, she really did a fantastic job. The main floor was crowded, so we were taken to the upper level. After climbing to the top of the PA memorial temple building on the battlefield, climbing a bunch of steps wasn't what I wanted to do, but once there it was a nice big room, and I liked looking out the window at the street view. I think the town is very quaint. I look forward to coming back on a future visit and look forward to dining in Gettysburg Eddie again. Thank you and your staff read more

I would recommend their Philly and their steak fries. Both looked and tasted amazing. The decor is what you would expect for a Gettysburg restaurant, except this one had lil bit of baseball history. Gary the waiter was a kool dude. read more

Lots of fun, great atmosphere. Just what you want in a small town bar. Little far from downtown but worth the trip.

I've been here twice and both times the service and the food were amazing! It's a small place but we have never waited for more than 20-25 minutes to be seated. Try the sizzling salad with ranch! So good! read more

My wife and I wanted to like this place based on reviews from both Yelp and Trip Advisor. However, our experience wasn't that great. It's an average bar that serves below average food with below average service. The menu is extensive, too extensive. When you're a small bar/restaurant with a large menu, it's probably hard to be more than mediocre. You have to keep a lot of product on hand. Anyway, after our server showed up, our drinks were brought promptly and the food came out quickly after we ordered it. All in all it was below average, not terrible though. Incidentally, the server did forget to bring out the apple fritter that my wife had ordered and to his credit offered to get it brought out right away. She declined. Hopefully, if you go, you'll have a better experience than we did. read more

Stopped in today, they were quite busy. Was told about a 35 minute wait. No problem, nice weather out so we shopped at the souvenir store next door and sat on a bench to wait. Restaurant inside appearance was nice, sat at a table 1/2 booth, with 2 chairs. Background music was at the right level. You didn't need to talk over the noise. Waitress was attentive. Ordered french onion soup, which was very good! I ordered a cheesesteak and enjoyed it! My daughter had a club sandwich and it was huge- she took 1/2 of it home. Thought it was priced reasonably for the amount of food we received. Will definitely recommend and will be back! read more
