Fantastic Kansas City BBQ. Definitely go early if you want seating because it fills up fast and the line will be out the door. They had "boozy milkshakes" which were a hit at our table as well as some other fun signature drinks. I shared half of a "moink" and half of a "blackout" sandwich. The moink was a burger topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce, onion straws, sharp cheddar, and pickles. It was absolutely delicious and the best part of my meal. The blackout sandwich contained 1lb of various meats on a bed of slaw and this was extremely good. All of the meats here are cooked to perfection and I would definitely go again! read more

After searching for the best Bloody Mary in Branson, Gettin Basted was the choice. We decided to go right when they opened because a Saturday in Branson...need I say more? We were one of the first 4 groups to be seated, and greeted quickly. Though the waitress seemed knowledgable and was sure to tell us she's been there for 7 years she talked fast and was in a rush to get through our order, food and send us on our way. We were probably the easiest pre she will have all day, two Basted Bloodies and an order of pork rinds. The pork rinds were fresh and delicious. The bloodies the same. I would say the waitresses opinion of the Basted Bloody being a meal was a bit off...a girl has to eat and this was not a meal. A wing, a bite of sausage, a bite of brisket, and some burnt ends in the bloody was the "meal". The Basted Bloody was good but I wouldn't say that it lived up to the hype of a $45 ticket. read more

Mixed feelings. This place was really hyped up, so I was excited to try with the some of the family while in Branson. The restaurant itself is very inviting, upbeat, and friendly. The atmosphere is a welcoming one. That being said - Our waiter seemed to either hate us, or hate his life. He was definitely unhappy about something. We had to ask several times for simple things: a to go box, a side of onions and a side of pickles..... we had to ask a couple of times and got an "oh yea forgot about that." The poblano cream corn brûlée was absolutely amazing. It was nice and warm. It was spectacular. The smoked bologna sandwich with an egg on it was super good except for the wet bun on the bottom side. It was almost like it had been set in water before it was placed on my tray. Afraid to say anything to the waiter, I just folded my sandwich in half (essentially, it took some cutting skills but worked out fine). Because I love smoked sausage I also ordered a side of jalapeño smoked sausage. I am still debating as to whether or not my jalapeño sausage link was supposed to be cold. It was good but it was super cold. The side of macaroni and cheese tasted no different than anywhere else. I would not have ordered it and perhaps tried a different side as there were tons of choices. Had I known that it was basically going to be KFC like mac n cheese. I ordered three side dishes, even though my sandwich only came with one. This was because of the unique selection of side dishes. My third side was sweet potato casserole. Again (like the side of sausage I had) I was not sure if it was supposed to be served cold. It tasted fine. But it was almost like it had just been pulled out of the refrigerator, sort of leftover style? Afraid to ask if this was how it was supposed to be served, I just ate it cold. Hubs had brisket with potato salad. He mentioned being nervous that the tater salad was not chunky, but said it was fantastic. His daughter who has pulled pork with potato salad agreed. They loved the meat and potato salad and regretted ordering the mac n cheese over the other options for the same reason as I did: it was like anywhere else you get mac n cheese. Her boyfriend ordered a hamburger with pulled pork on top. That also had fried onions and fried jalapeños on top. He said it was fantastic. He said his fries were good. Fries were skinny fries in case anyone wants to know. Everyone in our group said 3/5 stars. The prices were decent. Everyone left full. Waiter over charged 1 side dish ($4) and acted annoyed that I had pointed it out. Commented that it was "just four dollars." Now, lucky for him I am not the type of person to subtract "just four dollars" from his tip. But he should really rethink his career choice and the way that he talks to people. read more

The service was beyond expectations. Everyone is so nice and couldn't do enough. You can tell they enjoy working there. Now the food....outstanding. Pimento cheese starter is so good. I got the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and husband got tacos with pulled pork and slaw. The slaw is really good, the meat tender and flavorful, the barbecue sauce is house made and the best flavor. If you go to Branson you see a lot of recommendations from people for this restaurant. Personally, I knew it wasn't going to be great as soon as I got through the door. It has a very "chain" feel to it. If Yelp trusted us with half-stars, I'd have said it was a 3.5 overall; since they don't it gets a somewhat unfair 3 star review from me. I'll say our server was prompt and did a nice job staying on top of things during our visit. I appreciate him steering me away from their "good, needs salt" Mac and Cheese; as I ordered. Call me picky, but Mac and Cheese needs to be better than "good" at a real BBQ place. My dining partner ordered a Yoko salad (apparently it was responsible for breaking up The Beatles). She didn't see anything else on the menu that interested her. Overall, she wasn't impressed with anything but the actual size of the salad. I was disappointed in the menu. What BBQ place doesn't offer a two meat/three meat plate? I settled for chicken and ribs. Both tasted fine but didn't seem award winning. The piece of chicken (leg/thigh) was jokingly small. Must be petite chickens in the Ozarks. The ribs were fine but really wouldn't have survived without the sauce. The potato salad was very good. The poblano cream corn brûlée would have been fantastic if it had been anything above lukewarm. Whoever put the toast on the plate needs to be taught that butter also goes on toast. Overall, I have had much better BBQ in other restaurants; some of which didn't even claim to be BBQ joints. Have to admit, I was a bit disappointed at my first visit. We got here at normal dinner time, and they were already out of burnt ends, which to me is the main measuring stick of a bbq joint. We ended up getting brisket as a consolation, but it was quite dry. The St. Louis ribs were ok, but they were really saucy, and like some have said in these reviews, most great bbq doesn't need sauce, so it's hard to judge the actual ribs themselves as opposed to the sauce. The OG garlic sausage links were good, but you can only eat so much sausage. Baked beans were good too but a bit too salty. As a KCBS Hall of Fame member, this joint was some great Q! We sampled six meats on the Judge's Plate, all of which were great! The brisket was moist, the ribs were not over cooked, the chicken was not dried-out. Get the poblano cream corn Brûlée corn! It is sweet with a little kick and it's phenomenal! This place on the 76 strip of Branson has the most reviews in the area and it's for good reason. Food is spectacular and the service is friendly fast. There's plenty of parking and benches in the waiting area, so this place knows there's plenty of business that comes through. Because there's lots of waiting benches, doesn't mean there's much waiting either. We were told there was a 25 minute wait, but with our buzzer we were called up after probably 5 or 10. They have BBQ Wagyu, pork, turkey, chicken, and sausage, but I was craving ribs and definitely made the right choice - meat slid right off the bone and barely much cartilage. Along with it, I had sweet potato fries, and coleslaw, both very good. If my review wasn't convincing enough, the tons and tons of awards should. Let me first start off by saying that I am a bit of a BBQ snob. With that being said, Gettin' Basted has the best pulled pork I have ever had. It truly is all about that baste, because their pulled pork is absolutely delicious. I love their pulled pork so much, that I changed our travel schedule to make sure we could come here on our way home from Silver Dollar City. Beyond their delicious meats, their sides rock! I love their brûléed Poblano creamed corn so much that I got two orders. My boyfriend also said the sweet potato fries were great. Finally, the service is super friendly. We were privileged to have Betty be our server. She has been working their since they opened and she was very helpful, kind, and talked to us a lot which really showed she had time for us. What we loved best about Betty was her super festive outfit! How fun and perfect if you want to bring kids in to eat around the holidays!
