Decor is typical BBQ joint. Lots of sheet metal, ribbons and pig images. The good - Service was five star. BBQ sauce good sweet flavor. The bad - food was a disappointment primarily due to hype from others and ratings on Yelp. Got Waygu brisket. That must be the name of all their cows because there was nothing tender fatty or delicious about this. It was dry, VERY chewy and definitely needed sauce to be enjoyed. Nothing good about this meat by itself which I expect from good BBQ. Sides were decent size but beans had a different, harsh flavor that was not pleasant. Potato salad was ok flavor but dry as well. Not bad, but not what I like in potato salad. We decided not to spend more money and be disappointed in a dessert.

This is our second time visiting from out of town and it was just as delicious as the first time. Everyone loved what they got, including the pastrami, ribs, and sweet potato fries. Our server Justin was so on top of everything with our big party and incredibly friendly. The ambience is of your typical barbecue place, but clean and lots of booth and table seating. Good for big parties or small.

Seen the owner on food network figured why not give it a try. The Miami wasn't to bad with plenty of ham and pulled pork. The potato salad was creamy but really had no flavoring. The Austin was really good. The brisket was nice and moist and had a really good smoke ring and the flavor matched. The sweet potato fries were cold when they delivered the plate but before anything could be said a fresh plate of hot crispy sweet potato fries came out and those were really good. The cold ones yeah those were not eaten. April the bar tender was super friendly and made sure everything was up to par.

First of all, it was a Saturday night and we didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes, so that's good! The food overall was delicious. My pulled pork was juicy and the bbq sauce was sweet and savory. On the other hand, I found the baked beans to be a little underwhelming and the sauce sour? I guess where I come from I'm used to baked beans being mostly sweet. The corn side was definitely a stand out to me! It was packed full of flavor and the portion size is nice. I would definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of bbq!

Had to try some BBQ in Branson and stopped by this place. Note that they had just reopened for two days after the winter close out. We ordered the meat smaller plate and brunt ends. Turned out they were out of burnt ends at 5:00. Problem is they were also out of brisket at the same time. Lots of unhappy customers. Saying that: the chicken, ribs and sausage we had was all very good. Great flavor and the meat was all well smoked. Corn pudding and baked beans were also very good. My only suggestion is the place plan for more main essentials being a BBQ place.

Our team made this a dinner stop after one of our softball games. We had a large party but we were still seated fairly quickly. Our server was a nice young lady who we learned attended the same college as our girls. As for the food, I was born and raised in KC and live in STL, and although this bbq was slightly different than what I am used to, I really enjoyed it. I ordered the turkey platter with fried okra and the poblano creme brulee corn. The turkey wasn't very smoky but it had good seasoning on it and was moist. It didn't dry out even when reheated the next day. I absolutely loved the corn. It was probably my favorite. You would enjoy it if you are ok with a sweet and savory corn. My husband and daughter had the wings. One had the hot buffalo and the other the spicy teriyaki. They both liked them but wish they had more spice to them. My husband also had the tamales which he enjoyed. He liked how well the brisket chili and onions paired with the tamales. My other daughter had the ribs with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. She felt like her ribs were too sweet. She thought that if they had a spicy bbq sauce it would have helped but their sauce is pretty sweet as well. We only noticed there was 1 bbq sauce choice. We didn't have any issues with our service but some of the people in our party had issues with their orders. Our server did get best to get everything fixed for them. Overall, everything was pretty good.

OH MY GOODNESS the BBQ was falling off the bone here and the sauce...? Absolutely delicious! Lots of choices too. Big menu. The Mac n Cheese was super yummy. Hubby and I shared the ribs and chicken plate. It was plenty! And Betty, our server was very gracious. Be good to Betty. She's working hard at everything! We enjoyed the bbq very much.

Heard that Gettin Basted had a breakfast menu and decided to give it a try! It was amazing! My fav (surprisingly) were the cheesy grits. Best grits I have had! Great flavor! Everything was amazing and they gave big portions! Not a lot of people know they have breakfast so it wasn't busy at all. Our server was great and made sure we enjoyed our food! When we visit Branson again, we will be back!!!

Moink burger with veggies and sweet potato waffle fries

Enjoyed dinner here after a busy day of hiking. The restaurant was crowded but I was able to sit immediately at the bar. The bartender was busy but very pleasant and attentive. The food really hit the spot. I got the moink with a side of veggies and I subbed sweet potato waffle fries for regular fries which was a good move. Everything was delicious and it wasn't slathered in BBQ sauce although you could if you wanted. The pulled pork was tender and not fatty. The veggies were over seasoned for me and nothing special but overall the meal hit the spot and I would go back!

Absolutely PHENOMENAL food. Server was nice and friendly and made sure we had everything. Was very busy when we went but we only had to wait about 15 minutes. It's casual and busy inside and there were lots of families with kids. The Basted Mac was divine with yummy savory pork belly on top. The sweet potato fries were good but the onion straws stole the show for me! The bologna was good and rich tasting- perfect with the sweet BBQ. Husband loved the Nashville hot- although it wasn't as spicy as he expected. The thick bacon on top really added to it! All over 10/10 and will be back if we are in town again :)

Was blown away just walking in. There were awards all over the walls. It was Friday night but only had to wait about 10 minutes, which was a surprise. Our waiter (Joshua) was exceptional in helping us decide what would best satisfy our desires. As a table we had ribs, burnt ends, and a waygu burger. The burger was excellent, but the generous portion of burnt ends was the winner. They were moist and tender, but not fattty. They had just a little texture to them with just enough sauce to taste like meat candy. The ribs were very tasty but on the dry side (could have been because it was later at night). There was only one sauce on the table which means they don't really expect you to mess with what's been served very much. It was slightly sweet and smokey (ok, I did taste it) but none of us used it at all. All the sides were very tasty, expecially yhr corn brulee and sweet potatoe casserole. Despite the ribs (which I'll give another chance), we'll definitely be back.

One of the better options in the Branson food scene. The Porker sandwich was huge and easily shareable with an order of wings.

The students are so interactive if you ask them questions and they also have the place they are from on their name tags which can be conversation starters. It does take them a little time to get through service so make sure you have a little time to wait. They serve 2 types of bread with bread service and 3 different butters alongside those. The apple butter was delicious. The first night I had the meatloaf which was very good. The second night I had their special for the night which was a stuffed chicken with spinach and cheese, vinegar potatoes and some mixed veggie side that was delicious. There is also a store area where you can buy student made items to take home with you. I wish we had a program like this near us because we would support it frequently. Definitely make reservations and give this place a try.

I recently returned a year after the first visit, and it hasn't changed a bit. The menu is extensive insofar as classic American fare is concerned, but this isn't the kind of place you'll find 4 clever variations on Eggs Benedict. Anything named after Benedict Arnold has no place in the Ozarks. A year ago, I ordered a western omelet, which commanded my attention and exertions for the better part of 20 minutes. The portions are definitely generous - the pancakes are the size of pizzas. If you're on Ozempic, either skip this place or confine yourself to a single slice of wheat toast. Some gals in the group demurely ordered half portions of biscuits and gravy, thinking a dainty portion would show dedication to preserving their girlish figures. These "half portions" filled the entire (largish) plate. I made a mental note to opt for this on any future visit, and that future arrived this week. Biscuits were country-good, and the gravy was substantial, not that watery stuff that is sometimes drizzled on Pillsbury-from-the-tube biscuits. If you're in Branson, head a little south of the dam to Hungry Hunter. Get there early, because this place is deservedly popular and there will probably be a wait. I'm certain I've the experience to know what good BBQ is & isn't. And, boy howdy, this IS! Without a doubt, if Old 76 were in TX, they'd easily be on that coveted list of world renowned BBQ joints. That's truthfully rare to find outside the state. Situated exactly between Branson & West Branson, is this gem that's clean cut & the BBQ, sides too, is superbly executed. I'm not saying stuff to sound good. This is L E G I T, the real deal. They're pushing TRUE barbecue as it ought to be, not like some wannabe. I dare you to try any other place & find the same superb quality for ALL aspects. Get there before opening because the line gets long fast & the ordering takes time. There's limited seating that fills up quickly. I only wish it were larger in space & had the capacity for more help in front than 1 person. But for modestly using the limited space adjacent to a gas station, it's tastefully & professionally decorated & comfortable, just right for what it is, as opposed to the tacky, out-dated & sparse, or overdone interior that one tends to see elsewhere. Waiting for BBQ is honestly an experience & you must be prepared to wait your turn. That's how it is in TX for all the joints, folks ordering FCFS after waiting patiently in line for hours until sell-out. It's worth waiting on & building camaraderie with those about you. After all, you're about to celebrate gastronomically, I promise! Best sides: ALL of them but especially the corn casserole. You'd think it's vegetable bread pudding, it's so scrumptious!! Beans are no less than fantastic with bits of brisket - so warm & comforting. Potato salad is just a massive winner of full-mouthed goodness that's not typically mayo-ed down. Don't pass up the mighty fine coleslaw for topping your pulled-pork, pickles & bread for a highlight finish. Speaking of pickles, add more as a great acidic accompaniment. The sauce here is on the sweet side. It's really not needed AT ALL except to occasionally boost the flavor kick if taking leftovers for later. The meat's simple pepper & salt crust is all you need. & speaking of the Meats: Truly the star of the show as they should be. See the platter photo for yourself. Pick of choice or prime brisket. Prime for us. We could've appreciated a little bit thicker of a smoke ring but it was there despite the fast cook it probably endured. It needed to be a little less done on the fatty side but it was awfully tender anyway. Absolutely a winner brisket done right, so I can sweat the small stuff. All said, the perfect seasoning & bark set the tone & to me for brisket, that is most important. 99% perfect. Chicken: dark meat extra peppery & almost overdone but the white meat was super tender & nice to eat. It doesn't take away from the whole goodness of the platter though. Bologna: these ain't no lame Oscar Meyer store bought flappers. Talk about thickly cut, juicy heaven! Wow is all I can say - absolutely YUMMY. Pulled Pork: P I G G Y P E R F E C T. Don't even need sauce! Use the pillowy potato bread to die & go to taste bud heaven with rivers of salivation. This is so succulent, you might keep it all for yourself in a group setting. Ribs: BEST OF SHOW. These are guaranteed to be the best ribs in MO. Perfect pull & bite. 2 stacks of the thick bone-in pig walls left me amazed after just seeing the miraculous color & cook on the exterior of these spares. Their taste & texture solidified that Old 76 Smokehouse is the most bona fide BBQ joint I've ever been to in the Midwest. These ribs aren't somewhat good enough, they are majestic. My only wish is they'd had a beef rib aka meat candy option too. Desserts: both Bread Pudding & Key Lime Pie are highlights not to be missed. Stacked tall & the absolute righteous finish to seal the deal for such an experience. I just can't say enough good things about Old 76. Loved it so much, our 5-guy party bought shirts & a hat to wear in TX & TN. If this was local for us, "O76S" would be a frequent stop. We're BIG fans now. Last but not least, the gentleman working the show & taking orders was kinder than Jesus. He treated us right, & that's a fact. Talk about hospitality to the Nth degree. Ain't nobody going to be sad about that & we'll remember this kindness in anticipation of being right back ASAP! What we couldn't stuff ourselves above the gullet, we took home & all the girls promptly & heartily finished it off exclaiming how wonderful it was. They only missed out on the experience but not the tenderness & flavor!! Visitors & locals alike, DO NOT MISS this opportunity to dine like a king!! You will have died & gone to Texas, I mean heaven! One con & warning: if you don't have a truck with ample under-carriage space, avoid the furthest drive-way next to the fence. It is too steep & you WILL run aground, as we did. Enter & exit on the gas station side only.

It's rare that I'll even try Barb-B-Q outside of Kansas, Texas or Tennessee and I know there are…read moresome good spots, but I've been burned by more bad than good. The brisket was amazing, the fries and beans were also very good. I'll be heading back to try other menu options as soon as possible. 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up!!
