This is still the best place for dim sum and one of my all time favorites. We dined in today and ordered everything we liked. Price has gone up but the size and quality of the menu items are still the same. Service was exemplary and friendly. It was a good experience to dine in instead of getting takeout. The dining room is spacious, clean, and comfortable.
Cute and eclectic interior with the kitties and cartoon baos all around. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by staff. Micah our server was patient and friendly! The dim sum was spot on in flavor and all was handmade with high quality ingredients. It was definitely comfort food for me. Get Some Dim Sum is all thumbs up and worth the drive!
We are on a mission to find the best dim sum in the IE. We came down on a Sunday to try out this place that had over 4 stars. We were greeted right away and were seated. They gave us the menu and a piece of paper to place our order. The restaurant was very clean and it's small. Service was okay. The food came out pretty quickly. I grew up eating dim sum, so I am very picky when eating dim sum. The portion sizes are good and the flavor is there. The food did taste fresh but some items were not up to par. The Siu Mai was not my favorite cause the pork filling was too dense and didn't have any flavor. The Har Gau (shrimp dumpling) had a huge shrimp. I just wished the dough was a better quality. The Shrimp Rice Roll was also not one of my favorites as the rice noodles were too thin. The Sticky Rice was really flavorful and yummy. The Garlic Spare Ribs with Taro was tasty but it usually has black beans in it for more flavor. The BBQ pork bun had great flavor and the dough was perfect. The Egg Tart was cooked to perfection but lacked flavor. Overall, the food was okay, but not on my top choice. If I was in the area and was craving dim sum, then I would come back.
Omg this place is amazing. I came in by myself on a weekday and was seated very fast. My waitress Mckenzie was super sweet and explained how the menu worked and gave me fast service. I appreciated that there were images of all the menu items which made it easier for me to decide what I wanted. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and modern. I also appreciated how spotless the restroom was. I absolutely loved the #1 Crystal Shrimp Dumplings and the #15 Shrimp Rice Rolls. I highly recommended ordering both if you love shrimp. I also ordered the BBQ Pork Buns which were also delicious. One thing that you can really taste here is the freshness and quality of the food. Given the quality, you definitely get a lot for your money. I'll definitely be returning.
Been here twice in a week. Friendly staff... welcoming. That's how delish the food is! Friendly owner... aka cook. Food is fresh and tasty. Imagine Yumcha the whole day! Yum yum yum! Cha cha cha! My friends loved the food as well. First set is a local of Upland and the second set of friends came from Seattle, WA!
I was in the town for a wedding. The next day. I was craving dim sum and was checking out Yelp. This place seemed rated pretty high, so I decided to drop by for a bite. I ordered the rice world with shrimp and a bowl of wonton and noodles. The noodles were a bit overcooked but the wonton was fantastic. The rice noodle with shrimp was pretty good too. I appreciated the price. It was comparable to other places. If not better. I do recommend this place and I do plan to come back if I am in town. And the service was nice. My server was very nice and appropriately talkative. She took good care of me. It was decently busy when I arrived. I was grateful of that. I was able to get small booth for me and my baby. It fit two people comfortably. The ambience was good; no complaints.
Quick, delicious, amazing service! You are literally in and out. I come here before 12pm and there is no wait. Everything is good! The ambiance is pleasant and service is quick!
I was a bit skeptic about coming here, but my cousins and I needed a place for a quick bite before a bigger dinner reservation later. Dumplings seemed like the way to go. First - Loved how they were playing 90s/2000s Hip Hop and R&B inside! Service was pretty decent, we had slight trouble since we all had to pay using 3 cards. I understand this can be a pain sometimes, but it did take longer than expected. Our party of 5 was also given 4 forks and 3 chopsticks (yes, 3) and we were very confused. However, food was honestly better than expected! My cousins enjoyed their dumplings, and I enjoyed my shrimp and pork wonton soup. Typically dim sum places are only open early in the day, so it was cool to come here around 5 or 6pm. My cousins were talking about how they'd be here all the time for a late night bite if they had it in their country!
It's been a while since I read this review and have been eating at Get Sum pretty regularly since. Originally, the service was provided by a family member, super friendly and helpful, but as their business has solidified, they've hired a few additional staff. Whatever is in the water the family drinks has most certainly been passed on to other staff as everyone is super friendly, efficient and helpful. Also, I've tried a broad range of items since my last review and have yet to eat anything that tastes less than fantastic. Our absolute favorites are the Leek Shrimp Dumplings, Shrimp/Pork Wontons in Chili Oil and Chinese Kale. The Leek Shrimp Dumplings are large and stuffed full of shrimp & leek, with a perfectly steamed and slightly chewy wrapper. They come 3 per order and are just translucent in appearance so you can see the stuffing. We love these dipped in a mix of black vinegar, soy sauce and their exceptional house made chili oil. I've never seen this dish done in such a delicious manner in any other dim sum restaurant and I could eat an entire meal of just this dish. The Shrimp/Pork Wontons in Chili Oil, 8 per order, are packed with filling and their exceptional house wonton wrapper is thin and tender. The chili oil is medium spicy, but the hint of numbing Sichuan pepper, cilantro and other aromatics make this dish a flavor bomb that is SO craveable. These are, hands down, the best wontons in chili oil my family and I have ever had and we've collectively eaten at may of the best & famous dim sum restaurants in the San Gabriel valley and inland empire. Finally, they serve two Chinese vegetables that are boiled then topped with hot oil and flavored soy sauce. We're partial the Chinese Kale, or gai lan if buying at an Asian market. The greens are cooked to be soft but still with good crunch. They are then topped with a very hot oil and super flavorful soy sauce. The vegetables are a fantastic accompaniment to the rich dumplings and round out our meal nicely. Other menu items we've eaten and worth of mentioning are the Vegetable Pot stickers which are packed with filling and pan fried to perfection. The baked egg tarts are just sweet enough with a flaky crust and the perfect texture. The special beef noodle soup has a super rich broth with those quintessentially thin noodles, is packed with very tender beef and accompanied by some Chinese Kale. The veggie egg rolls are very flavorful, packed with filling and exceptionally crispy. All of these and more are so worth trying out here. This morning we had the pleasure of chatting with one of the chef/owners who was also very friendly and happy to talk with us about why they've decided to maintain their commitment to hand making their dumplings rather than the time saving, machine made product. She said that while it takes much longer to make their food by hand, they want tie customers to have the best dining experience they can provide and that hand mixing their dough and hand wrapping each dumpling is the only way to ensure their desired outcome. 5 Star rating this first outing for me. The food was perfectly cooked to order. The flavor profiles of each item was spot on. The amount of food and the size of each individual piece of shu mai was larger than I expected with comparison to Downtown Los Angeles' Chinatown restaurants. The steamed pork bun was comparable in size and flavor, which was very good and perfectly steamed. The service is top notch. I never had to ask for anything I might have needed. All food ordered was brought out individually and in a very timely manner. All condiments such as chili oil and soy sauce were all within reach on the table. I ordered a Pepsi as my beverage and the 12 oz. can and cup of ice was also promptly brought out to me. The overall feel of the restaurant is relaxed, clean, organized, with very supportive and comfortable bench seating at the table I was sitting at. In summary, the fresh and hot food, ambiance, and excellent service made for an exceptional dining experience that will make me recommend and return in the future.
This place is a great option to get simple dim sum place. We were greeted and seated by the booth right away. Every meal served steamy hot. The Siu Mai has cunky shrimp while bean curd has some mixed filling, porridge texture smooth and has strong taste of ginger so the fish doesn't smell. Pork Rib is my less favorite unfortunately. Meat was not that tender. Service overall quite attentive, the staffs keep checking on and ensure we are good. The decor itself is kinda mixed with millenial / Gen Z as there are sone figurine and character on the desk & wall.
Get sum dim sum will always be the place to go for dim sum if you don't want to drive to Rowland Heights or Monterey park. That said today there were some problems. We came on Tuesday afternoon around 3pm. It wasn't busy but we are a party of 6. There was only one waitress. She was sweet. We've had her before but attentiveness was lacking. Water was not refilled. 2/5 Egg tart was overcooked today. It did have the flaky layers and the custard was good. 5/5 Baked bbq bun. Yum! The outside was crispy good! The inside has a good amount of bbq pork. Loved this. 5/5 Steam bbq bun were soft and fluffy. Bbq inside was good. 5/5 Seaweed roll. I could've eaten these non stop. I've never had fried seaweed before . It was so good. Piping hot too! 1/5 no one at the table cared for the Garlic taro beef ribs! I asked where's the beef? It was mostly bones. The taro didn't work with this dish. Will not get again 2/5 something was off with the sesame balls today. It seemed the sesame seeds were embedded in the dough. 4/5 Custard buns were named lava custard bun for a reason. Unfortunately, I did not heed anyone's warning and broke into the bun without caution. The lava squirted out and landed all over my dress. 3/5 Crystal shrimp dumplings were dry on the outside today. It was too chewy for me.
Surprisingly alright dim sum despite being in the Inland Empire. The menu is expansive and the selection is pretty decent. Flavors were good, overall a chill lil vibe. Just kinda pricey in my opinion.

So good! The service is a bit slow, but the food came out quick once ordered. The dumplings and bao were made super fresh and had such great flavor. Nothing tasted like it had been sitting at all and was made to order. The inside is set-up to the best of their ability. The soup noodles and beef were so good! We were immediately greeted when entering Get Sum Dim Sum. According to our waitress, it's been a busy day, and there was one table open for us to sit immediately without a wait. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff was awesome to converse with. One is given a menu and order sheet to indicate which selection(s) one is craving. We chose their Crystal Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow), BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Roll, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, and Lotus Leaf wrapped Sticky Rice. Everything was absolutely delicious. This cozy restaurant is my usual place for weekend brunch. Every dishes are good portions, always steaming hot when it's coming out to the table. I'm really impressed with the service attitude, they're really helpful and patient with my lemon ice tea order. Service was ok. Server was friendly but we didn't get help because she was busy cleaning. You order by checking off items on their menu. Server never came back to take my order so I walked up to her and handed it to her. Food came out fast and very HOT. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted correct. Lacked a little bit of flavor or salt but all made correctly. Good alternative if you don't want to drive out to SGV. Shrimp noodle roll - so smooth and silky and large pieces of shrimp. Good job Fried seaweed roll - came out piping hot and crispy. Pork filling inside is good Fried mochi balls - outside was crispy but inside was kind of bland. Technique was good Bean curd wrap - lacked flavor Siu mai - good flavor but a bit plain Ha how - tasted good but was so small! Price was too high for the portion sizes. But I get it. Cravings satisfied! Dumpling choices are on point. This saves a trip to San Gabriel Valley. Dumplings are made fresh. Even the sesame balls are fried fresh. A tad wait but still worth it. Each server that helped us is very accommodating. They're friendly and are attentive to your needs. The dining area is clean and not sticky (iykyk). No loud, banging noises unlike other dumpling places. The restroom is immaculate too! Until the next craving! read more

Out of all the dishes, the siu mai was the best without a doubt. I would definitely come back just for the siu mai and even order it to go. The rest were between just above average to good range. I was craving for egg tart and wanted to find somewhere closer to home instead of having to drive all the way to San Gabriel for it. I was able to find this place on Yelp with great reviews so decided to give this place a try. I phone in the order for Siu Mai, Egg Tart, Beef Rice Roll, Shrimp Rice Roll, Cilantro Rice Roll, and Veggie Egg Roll and the staff was very friendly. There is tons of parking since it's in a plaza, but it was a little bit crowded today. Upon picking up, there was no wait and it was fast. Inside looked very clean and decent size for dining in. I was so hungry I wanted to try the egg tart in the car already and it was delicious! As soon as I got home, I tried the other dishes and they were all delicious and flavorful. I will definitely come here again. If you haven't tried this place, you should come to try it. The prices are reasonable and it was still a lot of food leftover for me to be able to save for dinner too. I like that there menu has pictures too. It helps me know what I am ordering. read more

Pretty good dimsum to be honest. Not bad at all. It's a small menu so you won't find everything you usually see at a traditional dimsum restaurant. I loved the porridge with century egg. And their Sumai is really good and cilantro rice roll was pretty good as well. Pretty good dimsum here! Was very surprised to find this here. And they serve it the whole day, which is great! We came here for dimsum for dinner. It was super easy to order. There's a sheet you mark the items you want and then the items come out! My fave items are probably the rice noodle rolls (we got beef and shrimp) and the salted egg yolk lava bun! So good!! Located in a plaza so plenty parking! Definitely need to come back soon! read more

I drive past this spot all the time and I can't believe I hadn't come here sooner. It's very hard to find good dim sum in the IE and I think this is it. Get Sum Dim Sum isn't a big place so keep it in mind if you're coming with a big party. The restaurant is pretty clean and the lighting is actually pretty cool with a honeycomb type design. The staff are also very nice. It's not very often that someone from a fast casual dining spot asks the customer how the food was and I very much appreciated it. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely amazing. Everything was packed full of flavor and they certainly didn't skimp on the portion sizes either. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. To put into perspective it's like Lunasia's portions at the cost of dim sum from the SGV. My favorites were definitely the ShuMai and the Hargow. If a dim sum spot can't get those right, it's not worth going to. I usually don't get soup dumplings but man those are also worth getting too! LOTS of meat and the soup is very flavorful as well. Don't sleep on the sesame balls either. They are a nice dessert to end the meal from a crispy exterior, soft interior with the slightly sweet red bean mixture. Perfection. read more
Yaaayy some dim sum for breakfast !!! . Not much dim sum restaurant here in the IE inland Empire . So thrilled to know they opened from 9am -8 pm for dim sum . Now I can cave my hunger any hour of the day . It's a smaller scale dim sum place , that doesn't mean their menu selections are small either . Their menu selections are vast from noodle dishes to baked pastries buns and the traditional steamed dim sum . Great service by one of the owner and waiter. Casual atmosphere with great delicious food. . From the pictures I posted we pretty much liked what we ordered. I was the only one who didn't care too much for their chicken feet , my son on the other hand liked it . read more

Got off the freeway looking for something to eat and found this treasure. It looks new with the " now open" sign. Ordered Thai tea which came in a cool reusable cup with lid. Came in starving and ordered alot. Got the baked bbq pork, steamed shrimp, ginger chicken bun and pork bun. Pork dumpling and kale broccoli. All was delicious and so filling. Prices were more then fair. Taking left overs to go. Plenty of parking. Staff are attractive, attentive and very friendly. I will tell a friend who lives in the area to check this place out. Hope they open a location in Ventura county. read more

Great fresh Dim Sum close to home. Amazing variety for a smaller restaurant. Food is fresher than many traditional dim sum restaurants because the food is cooked to order. Even so the food came out fairly fast. Service was polite, welcoming, and attentive. Ambiance was quiet and nice. Get Sum Dim Sum is a very good Cantonese Dim Sum restaruant in Ontario. The place is small and clean. The menu is not big but they are good at all items that listed on their menu, not confused at all like some restarunts' book kinda menus. The food is very delicious! Special Beef Stew Noodle Soup ($12.99) was very good, the beef stew were very tender and the egg noodle is great. It's good for a lunch and the price is very friendly as $12.99. Shrimp/Pork Wonton in Chili Oil ($8.99) was delicious, this dish is combination with Cantonese and Sichuanese style, they did a excellent job! We also ordered some tranditional Dim Sums like Crystal Shrimp Dumpling ($5.99), Siu Mai ($5.99), Chicken Feet ($5.69), Sticky Rice ($5.69), Bean Curd Role in Oyster Sauce ($5.69), Lava Custard Bun ($5.99), Egg Tart ($5.39) etc. They are all very good. The service is great. I am really glad that Ontario has this great Dim Sum restaruant opening. We will definitely visit again! read more

I arrived at My Delight Cupcakery to pick up some cupcakes. Upon arrival, I noticed Get Sum Dim Sum (GSDS) next door. Love the cute ring on the business name! Before heading over to the cupcake place, I decided to check out GSDS. I love dim sum not just for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner, too. This was for dinner LOL. Upon entering, I was greeted right away which is always nice. I said for take-out and I was handed a dim sum list to check off. I chose my favorites... shrimp dumpling (4) and chicken feet (3)... also got ham sui gok (3) and steamed BBQ pork bun (3). Total bill came out to be about $25 which isn't too bad as dim sum nowadays averages about $5 - $6 each. Funny, the shrimp dumpling is called Crystal Shrimp Dumpling... not understanding what the crystal is all about, but okay. All other items have their standard name. Anyway, I enjoyed the shrimp dumplings... good chunks of shrimp inside and flavor was tasty. Chicken feet wasn't bad actually and they were huge chicken feet LOL. Ham sui gok was very crispy/crunchy on the outside and very tasty on the inside, but filling was lacking quite a bit... a very thin layer of pork filling... it was sad LOL. Please fill up your ham sui gok! As for the steamed BBQ pork bun, it was quite good. Packaging boxes appeared small, but it was just right for the dim sum portion. I guess they didn't want to waste any excess space LOL. Staff was okay. Prices were decent. Ambiance felt a little cold, but maybe it was the color of the inside. They did have a neat beehive looking lights on the ceiling... thought that was cool! Would I be back? Yes I would if I'm craving for some dim sum especially now that I know I can get sum dim sum in Ontario near the 10 Fwy. Give them a try if you haven't already. Delicious authentic fresh-made dim sum. Their "Crystal Shrimp" should be part of everyone's order. The the ratio of Shrimp to rice wrapping is delicious and steamed to perfection. The other item I highly recommend is the BAKED BBQ buns. OMG. Baked pillows wrapped around savory- sweet BBQ pork. The crunchy topping just makes it 5 star. Since dim sum is meant to be eaten as an afternoon snack with tea--- the hot Jasmine tea is very fragrant. You really cannot go wrong with anything your order (and it beats driving into L.A.). read more

What is the wait like on Sundays around 12:30 pm, i am thinking of stopping on the way to LA from Rancho Mirage?
Sundays are busy, depending your party size. 4+ if the restaurant is full the wait time might be around 20 mins. if its only 2 people or single, sometimes the wait is 10 mins or no waiting time. there is not a specific answer for this question…

The place is really small. There's no outdoor seating. If it's a service animal then yes but otherwise. No.
