They have some good seafood dishes but the lunch specials were disappointing. The crab cake sandwich was BAD. No crab, well maybe a shred here or there somewhere in there. It was a doughy undercooked mess. The philly cheese steak was also bad. Salty steak em and very little cheese. You're better off going up the street to the philly cheese steak place on 19. Why offer these as specials? And our waiter recommended the gross crab cake sandwich. Very disappointing. Would so love to have a good locals place in Hudson. El Chicanito is good for Mexican and the ice cream shop is good. Otherwise there just isn't much around unfortunately. I would come back for the shrimp and grits or fish dinners but I hope they get this place together better. The fries were good and crispy. The lobster roll was pretty good with melted butter, seemed to me to be a mix of decent lobster meat (certainly not the freshest I've had) and faux lobster. We went to Get Hooked in Hudson for a few appetizers and drinks. We were seated immediately, but after 20 minutes of waiting, no servers came to our table, even though 2 servers were working in our area. Also I should say it was 2 pm and not very busy. I went up to the host and inquired about having a server come to our table. The host said he would send a server right over and apologized. A server came over to our area and began taking an order from a table of customers who had just had been seated. It was close to 30 minutes that we had been waiting, so we decided to leave. The host saw us getting up to leave and said a server would be right over. We informed him we didn't want to wait anymore. We've been to Get Hooked several times and never had this kind of poor service. We won't be back and cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Was out selecting new items for pool renovation and decided to grab a bite to eat. As we were driving we saw a sign for Mike's dockside bar and grill and followed the signs. When I tried to check in on Yelp it told me the business was closed. Apparently they never changed any signs but now is called Get Hooked. Fairly large restaurant but not very busy for a Friday lunchtime. Had inside and outside seating as well as booths, high top tables and bar seating. Menu has quite a few entries from seafood to salads and landlubber meals. We decided to split a crab stuffed mushroom appetizer which was good but not great. 4 mushrooms medium in size. Fried oyster baskets contained a large amount of fries with 9-10 small to medium oysters on top. Flavor was good but oysters smaller than I have ever seen and price was $15.00. Not a great meal for almost $50.00 for 2 people. Food mediocre and way over priced. Service was good though. read more

Thought this restaurant is by the water (well sort of). We were seated right away because we went early (5:00 pm). Waited 10 minutes and we were passed by by many servers. My husband went to the hostess and said we were going to leave if a server didn't come to our table. We had a server that said we weren't her table but she stepped up to the plate and took our drink order. Then another server came up and asked what we wanted to drink and told her someone had taken our order. I thought the second server was going to argue with the first server for the table. Ya snooze,, ya loose and we really enjoyed our server - her name is Sutton, she was very attentive and quick and we tipped her appropriately. Now to get to food. We had the stuffed mushrooms, a bit over priced at $12.95 and a bit chewy. I ordered the shrimp basket at $12.95 and wanted it with just coleslaw but it came with a huge serving of French fries and coleslaw. Shrimp was lightly breaded. My husband had Shrimp Scampi and he did an up charge to get a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. Okay, don't know what happened. Now to be fair we had already tried to get into Sam's out on Hudson beach and for a Thursday night there was an hour wait. So we went to Get Hooked. We sat outside. First mistake. Lot of smokers. Waitress was quick. Drinks were good. Ordered food. Okay so far. Food in reasonable time. Jambalaya tasted like out of a can. Grouper sandwich.....not so good. Small piece of grouper, lots of lettuce, tomato not ripened. Looked around to see business was picking up. Staff got stressed. Too many customers, not enough staff to handle them. Wound up actually having to ask the hostess to find our server in order to get our check. Not a real good overall experience. read more

Been here several times and will be back! The food is always good and the drinks cold. The portions are plentiful and taste really fresh. I have had the oysters (from Apalachicola) several times. They were mild and tasty although not real briny. There is plenty of seating inside and out and they have a tiki bar too. Bathrooms are clean, as is the whole place. The only drawback is the service. It is hit or miss. I have been there and gotten really fast service, wait staff asking if I need a refill or another drink. There have been other times when the wait staff was really slow. If a place is busy, I understand slower service but not when there are only a handful of patrons. That annoys me. Overall a nice place to get some really good food in laid back atmosphere. Ever since this restaurant moved from its former, smaller location it has gone downhill. It used to be all fresh caught fish that was outstanding. Now they claim their fish is caught by local fisherman. I don't think so. Is salmon local? Is Atlantic Cod local?. Very few local choices. We stopped eating there a while ago because we were unhappy with the food. Thought we would try it again tonight. Big mistake. I thought the pricing has gone through the roof. $28 for snapper at a beach bar type place is A little steep My wife and I both had mahi mahi. It was severely overcooked and dried out. It is a fish place, they should know how to cook a piece of fish. The hostess should learn how to hostess. We came in and there were a number of tables outside and we asked for one. We were told we couldn't have any of them because it was t that waitresses turn, and they want to even out the load. So, they are more concerned with the servers than the customers. While we were there we saw our server handling tables on the other side of the restaurant. Why couldn't they give us the table we wanted if the servers were all over the restaurant anyhow?. I guess the fact that they are busy takes precedent over service and food prep. . We have many other restaurants to go to, and we will. The only bright spot was our server, Denise. What a fantastic place hidden away in Hudson! They have plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice or the sun goes down and when the sun is blazing, spacious indoor seating. We enjoyed the band that was playing and especially appreciated the fact that the sound was not so loud we couldn't talk comfortably. Food was great too. My wife had stone crab and I had a grouper sandwich. Price for crab was a little steep but not ridiculous but they were big and tasty. Grouper sandwich was excellent. My only complaints were that I didn't care for the tartar sauce and my kids' chicken were definitely fried in the same oil they use for fish. Keep the beer cold. We will be back soon. read more

I have always had good food here. My parents went there for lunch today, as they ate here last winter and enjoyed the meal. Well-not today!! My Dad ordered the Lobster roll and it was SO small-half the size of the one he had last winter. My Mom ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was the absolute worst she has ever had in her life!! It was barely edible. They sliced a small breast thin and over-grilled it so much that she was not able to bite through it!!! I am so disappointed. Not sure if they have switched owners or lost their cook or they just don't care about return customers. They both stated they will NEVER eat there again. We had high expectations for this no frills seafood spot. It was overpriced for mediocre seafood. We ordered oysters that were not shucked or cleaned properly. The oyster platter did not come with cocktail sauce, lemon or horseradish. The crab legs were over steamed and the veggies were over cooked. Decided to try the food on May 6th and was the last table to order food before grill was shut down, brought food with out silverware and napkins, then 5 minutes into eating the dinner they decided to shut off the outside lights, you would think after a shut down of restaurants they would really focus on the Customer! This review is for Get Hooked at its new location on Crabtrap Ave at the Marina. We have eaten at their old location and been happy, but our first lunch outing at the new site was horrible. First, we were given dirty silverware to use. When we turned that set back and asked for new, the second set also arrived at the table dirty!. We then asked the waitress for the next set to be hand-washed, and they arrived clean. We had three entrees/sandwiches: Shrimp Scampi - The shrimp and linguine were swimming in butter, with no discernible garlic or spices. A Tasteless bowl of pasta with 4 shrimp for $10. Mahi Quesidillas - The filling was tasty, but the folded flour tortillas had been fried in oil, leaving a greasy exterior that could not be eaten with your hands. Lobster Roll - This sandwich contained no Lobster - it seemed to be the Surimi imitation crab that's served in cheap sushi places. he Lobster rolls at the old location were certainly lobster. Excellent and VERY fresh seafood and good service but this place is VERY noisy especially during a sports game. There is a nice patio to sit outside but don't attempt that at dusk unless you feel the bugs need a free meal. Also... the prices here are a bit high for a casual restaurant of this type. The parking lot is behind the restaurant and a little hard to find. You have to turn onto the side street next to it and enter the lot from that street. read more

Don't let the outside appearance fool you. As soon as you step inside, you are amazed at the decor and friendly service. The prices are what you would expect for a seafood place, but really wasn't terribly expensive. I had a dozen raw oysters, which were perfect and I tried the grouper nuggets. Although I am not a huge fan of fish (love shellfish!) the grouper nuggets were amazing! Prior to that one of our group obtained towels and cleaned our outdoor tables, since two staff members said they would but failed to do so. (It was about 1:00 and not busy.) If I could give this less than 1 star I would. Sat for two hours waiting on our food. Watched as multiple tables were seated after us and fed. Keep in mind we ordered fish fingers and three sandwiches. Nothing special. Once our food finally arrived they served all of us but one. Forgot to make that meal. Waited another ten to fifteen minutes for that to be served and it was disgusting. We were told several times while we waited that it was a new cook, then they had to call in another cook. Not a single manager came to assist us or talk to us. The server had our one late meal comped but that was it. The table next to us also waited thirty minutes to even put in a drink order. Walking in to this place I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like a bar and I was expecting bar type food but the swordfish and grouper ruban were out of this world outstanding. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service was excellent. This spot reminds me of a mixture between an authentic Hawaiian locals-mostly bar, a Kitschy Joes Crabshack and a set from a movie about working in a restaurant. Oh, and they serve some pretty delicious, very fresh, well priced fish. Initially, we sat at the bar and were neglected for a solid five minutes. But, finally a waitress/bartender asked us for our drink and food order. I had a grilled grouper dinner which was expertly cooked, large and delicious. It came with veggies and a baked sweet potato. The sides were not soaked in butter or oil which I appreciate. My special lady had a salad with a grilled piece of Mahi (we know Mahi as Dorado too). She was very happy with her fresh fish. The coup de grace, for us, were the enormous stone crab claws served cold with drawn butter. They were only $12.95!! This is a huge steal. In Chicago or LA, a serving like this would cost $35. We are here visiting family and plan on returning to this joint at least one more time. They were quite busy when we arrived and pretty swamped when we left on a Tuesday night. So, plan accordingly.
