We had spent a day out on the water and wanted something close that had seafood. This restaurant is right beside the marina. It wasn't busy at all which was nice. We ordered calamari and fish spread as appetizers. I was worried that our entrees wouldn't be good after tasting the fish spread. The fish spread literally had no flavor. We are local within an 45 minutes of Hudson and always order it if a restaurant has it. This was one of the worst ones I have had. Save yourself and don't order it. We went on a Sunday afternoon which wasn't crazy busy and sat at the tiki bar which was clean and had a nice amount of room. There was a storm rolling in and started to pour! I'm telling you this because the bartender girl didn't miss a beat! She continued to press on in between covering items and putting them in an outdoor closet for safety from the rain. In the meantime there was a solo singer/guitarist with his puppy who kept on going. That's Florida I guess. The drinks we had were draft beer and nice and cold and the food was pretty good. We ordered the red snapper dip which was a great pick! Also got the crab cakes which were deep fried it seemed but pretty good. I had a bite to eat with a friend of mine. We both ordered a cup of soup , she had a fried dish and I ordered a grilled snapper sandwich. I didn't care for the sides it came with but asked for a linguini substitute instead of fries and coleslaw. When dinner came I had gotten something I thought was chicken parmigiana. My guest didn't get her dish until almost eight minutes later. I was hungry so I started eating. When the waiter bartender finally checked in on us I said " I ordered the Snapper sandwich ". His response was the sandwich didn't come with that side. The waiter made the executive decision to give me a snapper parmigiana instead. I couldn't taste the fish. His menu selection for me was a seven dollar or more up charge. Other people looked happy. I didn't want to create a scene asking for a manager. I had the mahi mahi. There was a large portion. I order the vegetable medley that was plain and tasteless and a large cooked well sweet potato that came with cinnamon butter. Found this place by the website and it looked awesome! When we got there, the menu prices didn't match the jacked up prices. They nickle and dime you if you want a side sauce like honey mustard for fries you paid them for. The unseeet tea is so weak it almost tastes like water. 1/4 of the menu lists "Market Price", yet the server wasn't prepared and had to ask someone else. Also, when the check came there was a credit card fee on the bill that we were not informed of before hand. This is dishonest and unacceptable! That being said, the food was good. My wife and I had the cod sandwich, it was huge! Our daughter had the "Big John burger". If not for the issues I would have given 4 stars. I ordered the fried grouper sandwich with french fries. The fish was quite small and overcooked, the roll seemed like it was simply taken out of the bag and thrown on the plate. Fries were good but it would've been nice to simply of adding a pickle or another garnish. The open air seating was nice, although the view was more a parking lot then the water. We had a take out last night that was the worst meal ever. The Big Johns Burger had no fries, no cheese, no tomatoes or onions. We took it right back and the waitress brought back the burger with cold fries and a cold piece of american cheese. She said "well I could warm it up for you." Waited to be seated, no one came. Finally seated myself. Berated by waiter for not waiting to be seated. Food unfortunately not good at all. Iced tea was all water. Ordered crab cakes to start, were bland, little crab (could see none), all filler. Got fish & chips, heavy breading, could not taste fish, and fries were cut small and cold in 30 seconds.
