We were a group of 14, which can be a challenge. However, it was 40 minutes before we got our first beverage. Prior to that one of our group obtained towels and cleaned our outdoor tables, since two staff members said they would but failed to do so. (It was about 1:00 and not busy.) Our food arrived after about one hour but we had to request tableware. The food was very good. They were out of snapper. A grouper sandwich and fries was $14th.95. Waited another ten to fifteen minutes for that to be served and it was disgusting. We were told several times while we waited that it was a new cook, then they had to call in another cook. I am "Hooked"! I first started eating at Get Hoked at their old location, and still love to eat here. Went Sat. With another friend we were seated promptly. Our server was profession and friendly. The only hiccup to the evening was my chowder never made it to the table. That being said I really did not need it, but they make chowder the way I grew up eating it in New England. My friend hade the Mahi-Mahi and I had the Grouper, both were grilled to perfection. The vegetable are always fresh not frozen and if you can save room the Key Lime pie is always a great way to end the meal. They had live entertainment which was very good. Service was good. It normally is unless you happen to get the older lady who I think is an owner. She's a pretty terrible waitress, but again I didn't mind. I thought it was worth mentioning so potential customers know what to expect. The menu has a decent selection, and most things I've had are tasty with the exception of the crab cakes, they were like warm and mushy. Like the consistency of tuna salad. Went on Friday afternoon was terribly disappointed. No 6ft rule no sanitizer bottles anywhere no limit on people coming in. Waitress was not interested in being back to work acted like we were a bother to her. We had 2 people join us didn't want to be bothered gave us to another waitress . Meanwhile she went and sat at the bar to smoke and drink. New waitress came but must of been tired cause every time she bought us something went back to lay her head on the bar. Weak tea. Cold fries pulled pork sandwich... meat was fatty and what wasn't fatty was tough as an old shoe. I was told the coleslaw was creamy with a little sugar in it... dry flavorless not creamy at all. Definitely over priced for what it is. Called them at 6:21pm to see what time they were open till and if there was a wait and they said there was no wait and the kitchen closed at 9pm as it was New Year's Eve. Got my boyfriend and parents out the door and at the restaurant by 6:45pm and the 4 girls at the front told us it would be a 25 min wait as they had two big party's coming in that weren't there yet and that it was first come first serve. When questioned that I just called and they said they weren't taking reservations they told us they only took them for big party's. They had about 20 open tables. They also told us that this "party's" made there reservations at 6pm. I'm sorry but they told us that we had to wait for tables that hadn't even showed up yet or close to showing up. It was our first time trying this place and we will probably never go back. Worst service read more

Stopped by this place after picking blueberries at a nearby farm. Being a vegetarian, I ordered a Greek salad while my husband enjoyed a fried fish sandwich. Out came a salad plate with slice black olives from a can, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots and feta cheese on a bed of iceburg lettuce. Oh wait, let me look more closely at that lettuce. Why, it's brownish in color. Why would they serve a salad on old lettuce? So I asked. The waitress replied defensively that she had just opened a fresh bag of lettuce. She offered a replacement salad but it would have been with the same lettuce, so I said no thanks. I glanced at the carry out menu on the way out and discovered the root problem. They claim "The Gulf of Mexico is our refrigerator." No wonder. Fresh lettuce isn't grown in the gulf. Next time I won't order salad. In fact, I won't order anything there at all. read more

If your looking for a true locally owned and operated restaurant/bar that features fresh fish and other delicious choices, this is it. My wife had the fried shrimp, fresh from the gulf, fried in a light batter. I had tuna, from their appetizer menu and it was outstanding. We also had a small side salad and at $2.25, it was anything but small. Our server, Ashley, was exceptional and you could tell that she enjoyed her job. Happy hour beer prices of 2$/pint can't be beat. You can sit inside or out plus they have an outdoor tiki bar. While we've always gone to Sam's in Hudson, we are thrilled to find another hidden gem. We had a party of six, service was slow which was odd since the restaurant was 25% full. Looking to indulge in our favorites, raw oysters , cheesy grits & shrimp, shrimp parm , shrimp scampi , shrimp PO-boy , grouper PO-boy , gator bites . Disappointed with Rick's service, our order was input wrong twice so one of our party settled for the mix up and the other party waited. No apology or real explanation for the mistake. It required zero effort on Rick's part, simple common courtesy is easy and goes a long way. It's a MUST in the food service industry. Some servers forget that customers actually come to their business to PAY for a prepared meal and should be treated accordingly. This family run business might rethink a customer service refresher course. How can it hurt?? read more

We went there last night and had a question for the server and she had a terrible attitude next thing you know the manager comes over and says is there a problem we say no so my family says is it really 5 dollars for a side of spaghetti, so he said yup absolutely very rudely, also they keep your coin change so we asked that they bring ours back and in a small plastic cup with 44 pennies. Then laughed at us with the rest of the staff. This review is for Get Hooked's new location on the marina. We had been to the old location many times without an issue. This was our fist time at the new location. Friday night of a holiday weekend and it was the most disappointing night EVER. We arrived at 6:30 was told 1/2 hour to 40 min wait which was tolerable.....40 min go by check with hostess and she says another 1/2 hour. At 8:00 we are still not even seated with lots of empty tables..... all because the kitchen was backed up and they are not currently seating anyone....and even if we got seated it would be at least another hour before we got our food. Which was was not what we were told when we first got there or the second time we checked. Now not very happy and very hungry and getting nowhere with the hostess we asked to speak to the manager/owner. He came with a bit of an attitude.....hostess lied to him right in front of us and said she told us at least an hour and a half. Manager took the hostesses side, basically called us liars and told us to leave and don't ever come back. Great customer service.....NOT! Word of advice to the owner. Go take some customer service and hospitality classes because if you don't, and continue to treat good & honest customers that help pay your bills, that nice new location you moved to is gonna fail miserably. You've already lost 4 and word of mouth travels very quickly! read more

We decided to try this restaurant as it was suggested by friends. Atmosphere was rustic and a bit of "Fishermen's wharf" feel. That was perfect for what we were looking for, some fresh, fabulous seafood. Unfortunately, that is not what we received. We had a variety of entree's inlcuing the Lobster Roll, which was not edible. Actually had to spit out the small bite I took. Waitress took no notice to the fact that only one bite was taken from it and pushed to the side. The fried oyster's were tasty, but the batter was soggy and not cooked through. The raw oyster's though fresh, were very small, for the "market price" of $14, I would have expected larger oysters. We had fried grouper sandwiches that were so bland that even lemon, salt, and tartar sauce didn't help it. For a $14 sandwich, it should have been better. Great find! Went here for the first time with my wife and came back a week later with our 3 children. Both times were great. Almost perfect seafood. Best fried shrimp I ever had. Cool atmosphere. Super nice and helpful staff. Has a "locals only" feel to it, but they were very nice and welcoming. We will be regulars for sure. read more

By reading recent reviews, apparently they are surviving just fine with inexcusable wait times and a hostess who would be better off changing her career to working for the Dept of Motor Vehicles; at least there you expect to be treated like crap.
