This is the second time we were less than pleased. The only saving grace was Autumn. Again we were given the server that also ran the bar. She was less than attentive with the exception of my spouse. She made sure his beer was refilled. My son and daughter both ran out of their drinks. Could not get her attention. Not once to she check on us after we all had our food. When mine was delivered I asked about my sashimi. I have never ever seen yellowed white tuna. She did return it and brought out better looking pieces. My daughter in law had 2 cooked rolls. As she was picking up one of her last few pieces she put it back down immediately. There was hair rolled into the rice.!!! I went up front and asked to speak to a manager. Autumn came out and recognized us from previous visits. She comped my daughter in laws roll which we appreciated. We had such high hopes when they moved. This is my third time here and the first time I went here with the intention of leaving a review. Every other time was better. I was sat next to the bathrooms, which had a slight odor. There was some kind of plastic in my food, which initially I brushed off. No worries. But the longer I thought about it the more I think it's likely to have been a corner ripped off a bag of seafood. It's a sushi and sashimi place. So it's probably ok. But what if it isn't? I doubt anyone can say exactly what it was at this point. Waitress was great. Promised it won't happen again. No manager; No discount offered, or asked for. It would have been a 4 star experience if it weren't for those two things. Everything else was either good or great. Especially the waitress who was kind and attentive and sincerely apologetic about the plastic. I ordered the Ika sansai salad. It's absolutely delightful (minus the plastic of course). The soy and ginger sauce adds a sweet and salty note to gently poached squid. It's well balanced and extremely tasty. I also ordered spicy tuna, spicy salmon, eel rolls, and smoked salmon and conch nigiri. Spicy salmon and spicy tuna were my favorites. I generally like eel, but it wasn't my favorite tonight. Eel sauce was a bit on the sweet side and the roll had sort of a sweet rice flavor. Eel is an unusual (but tasty) flavor. It felt like these rolls were trying to hide it, rather than embrace it. I wish I had ordered the nigiri as sashimi. I enjoyed it more the last time when I ordered it that way. The salmon had no hint of smoke, but it was room temperature. Whatever they gave me for the conch wasn't conch. At least it didn't taste like conch. The nigiri and eel cost you a star, and the plastic in my salad and being seated by the bathroom (the smell) cost a second. If there had been an offer to take the 7$ salad off my bill (I would have refused) I'd have felt better. Or if I had an apology from someone higher up the food chain than my waitress I wouldn't have deducted a star for that. My waitress did apologize. But considering she wasn't in management or the one that made the mistake I have no confidence that it won't happen again. Which is my main concern here. All in all, tip included I spent 33$ on my dinner and walked away over full. It was quite good. The best sushi for an hour or maybe two in any direction. It pains me to leave only 3 stars when 4 and sometimes 5 are almost always deserved here. I'll be back in a week or two. Hopefully I will be able to give them five stars then. read more

Just stopped in to have a late lunch/early dinner. Their hours say they should be open, there was an employee outside, sitting in the previous drive through, but no other cars. The note on the door says they're closing at 8:00 pm for now and they appreciate the understanding. Door was locked at 3:45 pm on Sunday. On Tuesday 10/29/24 I took out 3 appetizers. The phone call was easy and they did accommodate me a bring it out due to me being disabled. The food was good except missing sauces and the rice noddles for the coconut shrimp. Imagine opening the box to 5 shrimp and a little sauce container for $10. When I called to say I was missing these items they said I could come all the way back from home or they would take $1 off next time. This manager is unreasonable for customer service in this case and I have bought here often. I guess continued business is not his priority. read more

Fairly empty but went on Sunday right after they opened again for the afternoon, so service was excellent and fuss free. The only thing I wish is that get rid of those chairs! When I get a craving for sushi there is no place I love more! Especially for delivery. Our favorite rolls are the chicken teriyaki and the volcano roll!! The fruit roll up is a perfect dessert roll but so are the desserts!! The outside looks like you'd never risk eating there but the inside is cozy and the staff is super friendly! We highly recommend and as an FYI I am CRAZY picky about my sushi! Side note... I couldn't get a picture as we were so hungry we dove in and devoured it in minutes!! Came here for pho based on a friend's recommendation. It's a small place, but clean, and the staff was attentive. I ordered the beef pho and since the sushi deal was unbeatable around lunch, (I believe it was two rolls and a soup or salad for $9.99) I decided to get that as an app. I tried a spicy tuna and a Tampa roll, which was fried white fish. They were both ok but lacked flavor and definitely needed a dunk in soy sauce. The salad was your standard with carrot/ginger dressing. Finally, the pho: it was tasty with more of a flavorful broth than I expected. I don't think it will replace my go-to pho, but it was a good experience overall and the price is perfect! My higher rating here is definitely due to it being a great value! read more

I have been to Grill One Nine a couple of times, and I have always had a good experience. On my most recent visit, I had lunch on a Saturday (Try their lunch specials). The Host/Server was very pleasant, and greeted me at the door. I chose a seat in the dining area, and was given a menu and my drink order was taken right away. I will say that the dining area gets a little chilly, so if you get cold easily, bring a jacket or hoodie. The restaurant was quiet, and pleasant. Very clean, and well-maintained. I ordered the Far East Chicken wings appetizer first. The Honey-Chili sauce on the wings was like a creamy, slightly sweet, bang bang sauce. Honestly, I can say I've never tasted anything like it. It came with a fresh cucumber-yogurt dipping sauce. The two sauces combined, worked really well together. The wings were juicy, and had a sticky, crispy skin. I asked the waiter for his suggestion of a favorite signature sushi roll. This led to me ordering the Fruit Roll up Roll. It was unique, and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised how well the fruit complimented the spicy mango and eel sauces on the roll. It was a very large portion, and I could eat the roll without any extra sauces, or soy sauce needed. The service, cleanliness of the restaurant, and freshness of the food will definitely bring me back here again! read more

A few of us decided to stop by here for lunch after class and while waiting on other people to arrive, the waitress seemed annoyed that we didn't place an order yet even though we let her know we were waiting on someone to arrive. After our friend arrived, it felt like she was just hunched over awaiting for our order. We felt very rushed to decide to what to eat. After placing the order I received my roll and one of my roll the salmon was dark brown leaving me to not finish that roll. We were sitting their talking after we had paid our tab and the waitress seemed annoyed by us still sitting there((they were not busy at this time) they only had one other group of people in there. She didn't offer to refill our cups either. Overall the sushi wasn't great; the service felt rush and annoyed. We all didn't feel good after eating here. read more

Wow this place has gone down hill in quality 100%!! This was our 2nd time getting take out the sushi was ok (oily for the fried roll) and just loose rolled sushi so it falls apart on you!! (And some rolls were very unevenly distributed, some had more cc on this side while in the other side there's more cucumber ??) it's very inconsistent The kids crispy chicken was so dry and fake and frozen you can tell it was like a chicken cutlet with pepper galore! The sauce tonkatsu was so weird it had a weird alcoholic aftertaste. I asked for teriyaki sauce on side and they gave me a container half full and it was spicy?? What teriyaki is spicy? I commend the restaurant on its perseverance to stay open during this health crisis and still offer takeout, even offering the happy hour as takeout. However, this, this I cannot stand. Summer rolls, the goi cuon, is a simple refreshing dish that should have shrimp or maybe pork, along as some vegetables and herbs... this photo is a Frankenstein monster creation of horror, an abomination, a testament to the bastardization of traditional food into some weird fusion western joke. I'm surprised they haven't turned their pho into macaroni and cheese. Nowhere is there strawberries or krab.
