The evening had started badly with a longer drive than expected to the restaurant, but it was well worth it. The owner greeted us with so much caring and enthusiasm that I immediately felt at home. It's BYO and there is a PA Wine + Spirits across the street. We had octopus, olive & avocado appetizer which was very well prepared. Filet & fettuccine entree was terrific! Tacu Tacu also gets 5 stars. Lemon Pollo entree with Yuca a very good, not great--still would merit 4 stars. Both deserts were excellent. We had an apple crisp. The apples were still firm & not over cooked. The 2nd was similar to a lemon meringue, but more creamy than fluffy. read more

Wow. Excellent Peruvian in Ambler, PA. Having been to Lima, Peru and tasted authentic ceviche, anticuchos, and chaufa, this place is absolutely legit. Chef knows how to make soft, tender beef heart and chicken anticuchos grilled to perfection, as well as perfectly marinated, melt-in-your mouth white fish, shrimp, and octopus ceviche. Dessert is amazing: Lucuma ice cream is very special, have not seen outside of Peru, much less in PA. Suspiro limeno also incredible - a silky custard topped with perfect merengue. Don't forget your espresso to accompany dessert. And did I mention it's a BYOB?! Lastly, the service is impeccable. Came for an early dinner. The food was amazing the Causas are a must try. We had the shrimp and it was refreshing and light. Good for 2-4 people to share or as a main. We tried the paella special they had and it was great. Scallops were perfect and the calamari was too. We also had the tacu-tacu and the chaufa de quinoa. Both were delicious. Although we have a couple of Peruvian restaurants near us in central Bucks County, neither is in the same league as Geronimo's. Everything was super-fresh, from the just-roasted corn nibbles to homemade ice cream. Our various fish-based apps and mains were superior, sometimes outstanding. Interestingly, the regular menu dishes were even more interesting than the evening's specials -- a departure from the usual restaurant norm. Service was exceptionally attentive, from detailed menu explanations to wine pourings worthy of a grand luxe establishment. The staff couldn't have been kinder, more helpful or more friendly. The setting is nothing special, but it's tasteful, spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Parking may or may not be an issue. It was ample early Saturday evening, but by the time we left there was nary a vacant spot to be seen. In all, this is a first-rate offering in an area that deserves a culinary boost. read more

Stopped here for lunch on Saturday. Everything was delicious! The ceviche was absolutely amazing the sauce was so good we were eating it like soup! Service was excellent and the Peruvian ingredients and methods were explained before ordering. It should be noted that it is a BYOB. Really great food here, wish I knew they had ceviche on the menu! Got the tacu tacu and it was some of the most tender beef I have had. The lava cake was so tender and had ice cream on top that tasted like waffles. Worth the price, and excellent service. Also, the butter for the bread is addictive as can be. read more

First time tonight. We were warmly greeted into a clean and lovely dining room. The staff was very eager for us to enjoy our first taste of Peruvian food. We were not disappointed. From start to finish the flavors and textures were a delight. The bread served with butter lightly sweetened with a Peruvian fruit was delicious. We had an appetizer special of bass, corn, sweet potatoes, red onions in a lime sauce for which I wish I had adequate words to describe how good it tasted. We ordered LOMO SALTADO and TACU-TACU CON SECO DE RES to share, both tender and delicious. For dessert we had Lucuma Ice Cream which was also a new and delicious flavor to us. This is a must try restaurant. It transcends a typical restaurant and provides an "experience." We were celebrating a 94th birthday and called ahead to make sure it was wheelchair accessible. The owner had a table ready close to the entrance and helped us get situated. I started with the Chupe DE Camarones, a soup I have never tried. The soup had a spice mix that was perfectly balanced. The portion was also substantial. For the main course we had sea bass ceviche and an order that also contained octopus and shrimp. They were served in stone bowls. This was easily the best meal I've had all summer. As a side note, we were served just out of the oven bread with butter. The butter was seasoned with a Peruvian fruit that gave it a sweet and tart satisfying taste. The owners are proud of their heritage and will guide you through the many Peruvian delights on their menu. Please end your experience with a cup of coffee and homemade ice cream. This restaurant exceeded our expectations in so many ways: high quality service, excellent presentation of the dishes, and perfect portion size! The owner of the restaurant, a Peruvian himself, came over to greet us at our table and suggested an ice cream dish for dessert that is a unique Peruvian fruit flavor. The ambiences, decor and service was wonderful. The server was polite and explained all the dishes well. We went by his suggestion on what to order as this was a new gastro experience for us. The table offerings of roasted corn and others were nice. As a new experience we ordered cerviche. I also had the short ribs my friend had the seafood rice It looked lovely and tasted fine. We enjoyed our meal. Sadly the good times ended after we left. I was in eye of the storm. A double waterfall has descended on me. It has been over a decade since I had food poisoning.
