Walked in after a suggestion made to us by the staff at stone and key winery. My husband and I were treated by the friendly staff and they apologized because the ac broke down that day. If I could I would give a extra star to the staff for plowing through the heat. The service and food was amazing. We went off the servers suggestions and it did not disappoint. The hostess was very gracious, she found me a table rather quickly, since I didn't have a reservation. I the menu was amazing authentic Peruvian food. My waitress was great, she was working hard no complaints as far as service. The food presentation speaks for itself. The food itself was fulfilling and flavorful. A true experience to be had by all. Absolutely delicious food and excellent service. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. The owner/host explained all the dishes to us and recommended some of them. We ordered scallops and ceviche as appetizers and they were fantastic. The ceviche was plentiful and very fresh and the scallops had a very delicious flavor. Our entrees were also outstanding. The atmosphere is intimate, romantic, and a little mysterious-Loved it! You can also choose your own bottles of wine to bring along, and they provide a stellar bottle service. I cannot recommend this place enough! The flounder ceviche is absolutely melt in your mouth incredible. The service was so hospitable that it was easy to enjoy a wonderful quiet meal with friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Geronimo's in Ambler--the place is beautifully decorated--bright and clean and tables separated so that there is privacy with little noise so one can enjoy conversation with friends. The food was excellent. I had their pasta with seafood, and the dish was large enough to share with my husband. Our friends had the restaurant's special chicken dish (which we all tasted), and it was yummy. The owner came to our table several times, not intrusive, just friendly, and told us, when asked, why he opened a Peruvian Restaurant in the heart of Ambler. The decorations are lovely--I told him he should have some of the ornaments for sale because they were colorful and lovely--decorated animals (llamas, cows, bulls) in different sizes, and I would buy one; they were that cute! With a small child, our date nights are usually planned well in advance and we frequent several spots. After tonight, Geronimo's will be added into our rotation as a "usual." TLDR: great food and service Booked a reservation through OpenTable and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Sparkling water was nestled into an ice bucket and accompanied by limes, which was a nice touch. They immediately brought over Peruvian corn to snack on. After relaying the daily specials and taking our order, the owner dropped off warm, crusty bread with a sweet fruit (quince?) butter. The chicken skewer appetizer far surpassed expectations with a smoky sear from the grill, creamy yellow pepper sauce, soft potatoes and some sweet corn. We were surprised by an amuse bouche of tequenos, crispy wontons stuffed with ground beef and a slightly spicy sauce. They explained that these were traditionally served as a finger food when dining at a friend's home, as a complement to conversation. Took the suggestions of other Yelpers and ordered the Tacu Tacu and Pollo Limon. The short rib was fork tender, with herby pickled onions to offset the richness of the meat. Lemon chicken had a phenomenal sauce and I loved the crunch on the yucca. Only drawback was my chicken was overcooked by a minute or two, but this was saved by dragging it through the sauce. We were stuffed by this point, but the Owner excitedly asked if we were familiar with lucuma. I was, but my husband had never tried it. He was kind enough to bring out two shot glasses so we could sample a bite "instead of saving it for the next visit." It had a soft note of butterscotch and was reminiscent of rum raisin, without the raisins. Would definitely order this with the lava cake! My husband said the cappuccino was "excellent." I really appreciated the hospitality, enthusiasm of all the staff and flavorful food. We look forward to returning and trying the desserts! read more

A meal of surprises and that's what dining out should be. We didn't BYO so I opted for an Inca Kola- what arrived looked like Mountain Dew and tasted like bubble gum. Bizzarely tasty. The comp bread/fruited butter and roasted corn kernels were really good! We then had ceviche- it was a special so I didn't know the price until the bill came- it was $27 but could easily have fed 3 people- huge portions of sea bass in milk-citrus based marinade with Peruvian corn and sweet potatoes. One of my favorite versions of ceviche to date. Hubs enjoyed his lemon chicken. I opted for a causa with shrimp- looked good on photos- was a cold dish however- not bad I just didn't realize. I would have preferred a bit more of the side sauce. Service was good and it's a very pretty space. Not sure it'll be on my regular rotation- wish they had one other fish entree, beside salmon which is not my fave. If they did, I'd go back in a minute. read more

Most people do not think upscale dining when they think of Peruvian food (which is why the place is rarely packed, they may be looking for taco shop proving not realizing how wonderful Peruvian cuisine is). But this place is simply gorgeous, the decor is elegant, the service is friendly and attentive. But it was the food that was the star of the show. We had a traditional causas lime as with chicken which was so fresh and light. I had a pasta dish with seafood and an amazing sauce, my husband had lemon chicken. Everything was fantastic. Even though prices are somewhat high, it's BYO which helps. And the meal was worth every penny. Would be a great special occasion or date night restaurant. Everything about Geronimo's is pleasant! From the service to the food, we were very impressed. We came with our 10 month old baby and they seated us in a little nook near the windows which was perfect for us. We didn't have to worry about getting in the way and our son had plenty of people to watch while we ate dinner. All of the staff were so accommodating--it was actually quite touching. The food was delicious as well. The quince butter that came with the complimentary bread was delightful. Our baby couldn't get enough of it. The shrimp soup was hearty and warming. The taku taku was as tender as everyone said in previous reviews. They had a ceviche flute, which allowed us to try three different variations. Each one was beautiful and special in their own way. It was a dish FULL of the freshest fish overpowered with the lime (I believe). But it was enough for the table. 3- Quinoa - average at best I went with a person (blonde, of course, no purple hair women YET) who had been to Peru a few times, and she said it was "kinda" close to some of the dishes she had there. Geronimos is very elegant dining room with a welcoming and knowledgeable staff - they explained everything and were excited to share the culture. The owner was interacting with all the tables sharing information and even bringing us small complimentary Pisco Sour cocktails. My friend and I split everything (the aircrews brought us sharing plates which made me love this place even more) we loved the scallop appetizer, the tacu tacu shirt rib and the filet with pasta a la huancaína. This is one of the best Peruvian restaurants I've tried so far. The food is excellent, and the ambiance takes you straight to Peru! You can enjoy all the artwork while you are comfortably seated in one of the many areas of this place. Each table faces a different picture or exquisite craftwork that you can admire while you are savoring your dish and enjoying your favorite drink. We had the octopus (Pulpo a L'Olivia), the chicken (Pollo al Limon), and Pasta con Mariscos (Fettuccini with shrimp, mussels, and calamari in a tomato-based sauce). Everything was cooked to perfection! Don't forget to try the "Canchita" that Daniel introduced to us; they are like small "popcorn that is brought to your table as a little amuse-bouche. Daniel also shared with us how the restaurant's name was a celebration of his grandfather's name. And you can check the articles at the restaurant's entrance! It was a pleasure meeting Daniel, very kind and pleasant to talk to, always attentive to every little detail! He really made us feel very welcome! And please, don't forget to save room for dessert. I have heard great things about Geronimo's and finally got to try it last night with a friend. It definitely exceeded my expectations! The service was prompt and friendly, the restaurant is cute, and the food was outstanding. The starter bread & butter along with the chicken skewers made for a great appetizer. I had the chicken limon for my entree and it was so flavorful and delicious without feeling heavy. I tried a couple of bites of the lava cake and apple crumb and both were amazing.
