Came here this evening after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp and Google, so I was excited to give it a try. I ordered the Don Esteban salad, but noticed right away that it was missing the avocado and guacamole. There was also an overwhelming amount of cubed cheese--so much that I wasn't sure if I was eating a salad or just a plate of cheese. My husband ordered the burrito bowl without rice, and again, more than 30% of it was just cheese. For dessert, we got the tres leches, but it didn't taste quite right--it seemed like it was missing the sweetened condensed milk that gives it the traditional flavor and texture. I might come back to try a different dish, but if I'm really craving Mexican food, I'll probably stick with El Limon. read more

I was excited to see they had the option for pick up. Food was ready on time and fresh. I ordered steak tacos, chicken tacos, rice and beans. EVERYTHING was phenomenal! The tacos were filling and delicious! I will def be back to eat there. The inside was clean and inviting. The staff was welcoming. Please support this small business on your next night eating out. Like others, my husband and I came here for lunch based on the great reviews, but the restaurant didn't live up to the hype for us. The overall experience, mostly because of lack of attention to detail, will not bring us back anytime soon. The space (on the second floor) is large and open but very bland. When we walked in the door on the ground floor, the server yelled from upstairs for us to walk up the stairs to the upper floor. There were a few tables on the first floor but they weren't offered even after I said I had back problems and had trouble climbing stairs. I asked if there was an elevator and there wasn't, so right off the bat, I felt like people with disabilities would not be comfortable here. The waitress brought chips and a spicy green sauce and they were both good but when she came to take our order I asked for pico de gallo, to cool the palate after the green sauce, but she didn't bring it. She sat at a table at the back of the restaurant and I guess she was going to bring the pico with the entrée. I had to get up from the table and ask her to bring the pico so we could have it with our chips. The pico was okay, flavor-wise, but it was too heavy on onions and light on tomatoes. My husband got the chile relleno. He said the flavors were interesting but the cheese inside the poblano was not melted, which is essential for a good chile relleno. He said the rest of his food (black beans & rice) was okay but that everything was salty. I was disappointed that the enchiladas didn't come with beans and rice so I got a carnitas burrito. They served it on a plate covered with paper for some reason. When I cut into the burrito of course the paper got wet and soggy. It was messy to pick up the two halves of the burrito so I could pull out the mangled paper but if I hadn't, I would have been eating paper! There was no place to put the paper so I had to leave it on the table. Like my husband, I thought the flavors were interesting but everything was too salty. We ordered a side of guacamole and it was so salty we couldn't eat it. So, between the bland atmosphere, the difficulty making it up the stairs, and the overly salty food, there wasn't anything compelling enough to make us want to return. read more

I came here for the first time with my mom and ordered the flautas. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy them. They were supposed to be crispy, but instead they were soft and greasy. My rice was also cold. Overall, this was disappointing, and sadly it will be my first and last visit. read more

I know it's been a bit since my last review, but I have a feeling that this new restaurant is one worth checking out. I'm talking about Don Esteban on Limekiln Pike in Dresher, PA My brother and I went last night, and it's really nice to have a Mexican restaurant as close to us as this. While some feel that the lighting is too bright, I felt that this was excellent, and I want to be able to read the menu. I like how the downstairs entry is set for pick up, and the upstairs is for dining in. This way, I'm not interrupting other people's dining experience. Now let's talk about the food! The food here was delicious! I had the Carne Asada (steak), and it came with something I had never had: a cactus leaf! It was so good! I also had the Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla. It was as large as the ones I've had in San Jose, and just as yummy! I followed this up with mandarin Jaurritos soda. My brother had a Quesadilla, and the Chicken Chimichanga, which he said reminded him of our favorite ones from Chi-Chi's back in the day, and our California trips. All and all, I highly recommend this place! The food and service are excellent, and the portions are plentiful. Prices are commensurate with the current economy, minus a dollar or two. The only reason for only four stars, is due to location. It's at an odd intersection that you much just blow past it too soon, so get your favorite Map app out and plan ahead. Came here for lunch and got to try their quesabirra! It was so good! The dipping broth that came with taste amazing. Our kid even out rice in it and it should be its own entree! Fish tacos were great too. Glad to be able to dine in today. We usually takeout and this has been our regular takeout place. read more

It was our first try at this new restaurant. the burrito was a smaller size than what we are used to (compared to other places) but it tasted good. We had the nachos, and the food was tasty but I didn't like the lettuce on it - the chips became soggy and there was way too much cheese -- way way way too much. If they took the lettuce and the cheese off and just put on half the amount of cheese it would have been perfect. The plain chips sent to us were really really crispy and tasty. But the KING of the dinner -- ohmygoodness was the Flan Neopolitano. WOW!! To die for. It was a cake - the bottom was a very moist chocolate cake (seemed to be tres leches chocolate cake?) and the top half was flan. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I wish that their doordash descriptions were translated into English with a full description and even pictures of all the food. It is hard to navigate them on Doordash. BEWARE! Check your bill. We were overcharged on 3 items for a total of $12! When we asked our server she said the prices had changed but what was on the menu is not what we were charged. This is false advertising! We were the ONLY 3 people in the whole place. Our meals came out 10 minutes apart from the first to the last! The wraps for the fajitas took 6 minutes to come after asking 3 times for them. I tried to support a local business, next time I'll go to Chipotle around the corner, it'll be cheaper, quicker, less expensive and better quality! read more

Been seeing this place come to life over the past couple of months with much excitement. The wait was worth it. The food was fantastic, fresh and authentic. I've seen quite a few Mexican places pop up recently (a great thing) and this place is definitely some of the best in the area. The staff were friendly and attentive and you can tell they are fully invested in their restaurant and their new area. They are housed in an old Inn that until a few years ago was a Japanese place. The color palette is bright and festive and seems a little odd for the building, but it's Mexican restaurant so I get it. All in all a great experience and we will definitely be back. read more

I wish I could say great things about this place, but after taking my family I was utterly disappointed with the service and food. Really disappointed in this place. Got take out three times now and each time a worse experience. Last one- called in showed up as told and clearly the order hadn't even been started yet. When I got home the enchiladas were barely warm and the red sauce tasted like ketchup. I was hesitant to try a new restaurant without more reviews because it's such a gamble but I'm so glad I set my reservations aside. The salsa verde that comes out the gate with the complimentary chips is incredible so we knew we were in for a treat right away. We decided to order the Mexican street corn since it was new to the menu, the don Esteban nachos and quesabirra. Do not let the average presentation subvert your expectations. Every single dish was a hit. The corn was incredibly flavorful and had just the right mix of every ingredient. The nachos were well worth the cost as every chip was loaded with steak, chicken or chorizo and, most importantly, had the structural integrity to support all of the toppings. Finally the quesabirra was some of the best in the area and probably the best since I had them in Mexico. Impromptu visit as I was in the area and always enjoy an authentic Mexican meal. Did a yelp search and this place had substantial reviews in which I see why. Arrive around lunch time and many guys were in there, then a group of about 7 men entered and I quickly placed my order before they did. Got a chicken and cheese quesadilla and steak Gordita. Wanted lengua tacos, my goto but they didn't have any. Overall I enjoy the flavor of both, full portions and healthy toppings. Would visit again and try other items. read more

Very nice waitress. The food was all perfect- the exact way you want your Mexican food to taste. The esquites cup (elotes/corn) was so good, you wouldn't think a cup of corn could be that good, but it was. The steak was tender, juicy, nice sear. The chile de arbol salsa and the regular chips & salsa fresh were very good. The place was clean and accommodating. There's hot sauce, tajin, salt/pepper, in the tables. The rice was very soft. For a taco, quesadilla, burrito bowl, esquites, sodas, complementary chips & salsa was ~$60. They just opened and are worth checking out! read more

Dropped in for their soft opening. Staff was very pleasant. Food was very good authentic Mexican. We had a chicken quesadilla on a homemade corn tortilla and the chimichanga meal. Very fresh and very good. The colonial style building is amazing but it's a little too bright inside for dinner. Will be a great local spot for breakfast and lunch. We will visit often! Was hopeful we had another good Mexican restaurant in the area. This review is based on a single item so maybe the other food is good. Like another reviewer who mentioned his burrito soaked the wrapper, the tortilla on my takeout burrito was soggy on the inside of the entire length on the one side. I was also a little surprised by how small the burrito was. There were only a handful of complimentary chips in the Styrofoam container the burrito came in (vs a paper bag of chips other places give) and the chips were soft and pliable from the steam. If I enjoyed the meal I would still pay the $17 for the burrito, but unfortunately I didn't. Don't know if I'll bother giving them another shot and try something different. read more
